I looked at the gains and people seem to miss that 6 people (well tickets) got 4.6 Mil EUR each.

I'd be quite OK with that amount already.

Anyway a new high gain is coming up.

What happened with the californian 365ùil USD?

If I won, I'd pay for the wages of an extra 50 people to add to Polyphony Digital and get a finished game this time. :P

I'd start an F1 team with a chassis made of pudding and sunshine.

If won the Euromillions i would sponsor that team any day !

Absolutely not. Maybe not as much with 185 million euros, but imagine if you won say, a million USD. $40k payments will be worthless in 20 years.

With the way currencies are going, and governments just printing free money all the time, these things are volatile and I wouldn't put my faith in these currencies holding their value for 20 years. I'd take the 185M Euros right away, and put it down on things that will hold value. Land, houses, classic cars, material things with real value that will hold, even if a currency collapses.

I mean, with 185 million Euros, you could go on a mad spending spree and buy all kinds of cars, houses, and still have tons of money to give to charities and invest in stocks or savings accounts. I guess with 185 million Euros the danger of inflation isn't as significant, as 1/20th of 185 million is still a pile of money, but say you won "only" 1 or 2 million USD. 1/20th of that will probably be nothing by the end of 20 years.

Have you read how payouts, annuities, and interest works when it comes to lottery winning?

If you were the sole winner of the £166million, money would just become meaningless to you. You'd get it paid into an account at Coutts so you could live like a king just off the interest (which would be ahead of inflation). There'd be very little you couldn't afford to buy. You'd never have to lift a finger for the rest of your life.

Personally, I'd pay off the mortgage of just about everyone I knew, make funds available for others I know to buy houses and then just start to spend, spend, spend. Big house, half a dozen cars, swimming pool, private cinema, all that stuff. I'd want to see the world as well - there's a million places I'd like to visit, so I'd just start sticking pins in maps and going. I'd pay most of my friends not to work (say a grand a week each or something) and I'd donate regularly to charites (I read a thing a few years ago that charities actually prefer smaller, regular donations, rather than one large one - though I can't remember why this is). I'd also have a couple more kids - we can't afford to at the mo (childacre costs the same as our mortgage each month) so it'd be nice to be able to bring a couple more little Scousers into the world.

Yeah, the second prize got bumped up to >£3m each!
Lets see what happens tomorrow :) If its a rollover, I expect the second prize fund to be even bigger!

The thread has turned into what you'd do with such money, so here's a prompt:

Spend or Save?

Both. Spend some, save some, and live off the interest.

Title should change to 1 UK ticket in Euromillions won 185 Million Eur.

I can exclusively reveal that...

... it wasn't me

:guilty:

Liar!
Send me free stuff :p

I forgot to buy the ticket, Plan B is initiated, off to India, taking a hat and a whip and heading for a certain temple.

Well, our local radio is reporting that the winner is in my town. Specifically the Clacton-on-Sea/Jaywick area. Jaywick is one of the most deprived areas in the UK so for someone to win it there would be pretty amazing.

There has been no official announcement from the lottery yet but I think on the last win of over £100 million they did not disclose the location of the winner.

Yeah when you win that kind of money they don't disclose who it is which is how it should be. I think the last big one a year back also was anonymous.

Do Lottery winnings in Europe get eaten by taxes before they hand it over to you?

In this order, pay off my mortgage, pay off my car, sell my car, buy 1996 Beige Toyota Camry XLE, Move my parents to California and purchase a vacation home on Palm Beach Shores.

Are you having family problems? :odd: ;)

The Camry was the car I had in college, so thats purely sentimental. As for moving my parents, well...

And the winners are...

Danny, I know you like your hair to be weird, but that's too far...

Best of luck to them! I'm sure it'll be spent on insane cruises and their children will fight for every penny.

I'm not jealous, I swear. Well, maybe a little.

Can't bid for an F16 on ebay now...

They should buy Greece, and then rent it back to the Greeks.

I'd hire a permanent butler. Not just any ordinary one, she would perform the roles of not only butler but call-girl and and chaffeur and walk around in Victoria's Secret lingerie all day. Oh, the pain of not being rich.

Edit: But they're obese! Let's hope they hire personal trainers or, better yet, burst and the blast to send all the $100 dollar notes across the globe for everybody to catch.
