White, orange or the bright lime green for me on that car.

I think the lines are too modern for British Racing Green. It was a colour that looked great on the Elise S1 (with a tan interior, mmmm), and on Jags and Astons, but on the Elise S2 it didn't look as good and I reckon the same will be true of this car.

well, perhaps paint the inside of the front grille yellow, with a single stripe going up and over the car...

Full frontal shot.

The www.facelesspeople.com site is almost counted down, and the show starts in a few days, so let's expect the full release on Monday or Tuesday? Can't wait!

Its a very handsome car, really demonstrating what I assume to be a very grown-up driving nature of the vehicle. It will likely be much more than the Europa ever dreamed of, which makes me wonder...

Whats the sticker price again? Will it have Porsche and Audi worried?

Initial estimates at about 69K$ with about 600 of them coming to the US for first year.

Well then, this is definitely invading the 911's territory indeed.

Can the word "nudity" please be inserted into the thread title. Please.

Call me a traditionalist, but gimme B.R. Green.

That dark silver, white and blue all look quite good, but I think I'd get mine in BRG. And I really like that frontal shot. It really shows that this is a quite modern car, and designed to be slightly refined compared to the Elise.

And for ~$70K, that sounds like quite the car. Lotus does quite a job of offering amazing cars for a fraction of the price you would pay for the same experience elsewhere.

Okaaaay so...

Carscoop
Though this has not been officially confirmed, CarScoop has been tipped off that the all-new Lotus 2+2 Coupe, currently known as the project Eagle, will be named “Evora” when it makes its world debut at next week’s British Motor Show in London. The Evora will be available for order from spring 2009 as a 2+2 as well as a 2-seater. The basic versions will be equipped with a modified Toyota Camry 3.5-litre V6 engine producing 280 Hp. Click here to read more details on the new Lotus coupe.

I don't know how reliable this is, but I certainly liked Lotus Ethos far better. Evora sounds too kitcar.

Pronounced "Eee-Vora" I assume? Well, it doesn't exactly roll off the tongue...

Pfft.. Evora.. why not Evaporator.. it will vaporize competition after all when the more powerful models come out..💡

I acctually like the name certainly more than ethos which I heard suggested, of course it all comes down to prefrerance but I don't think they have done too badly.

Ethos sounds like a genre of Ancient Greece's poetry..

Evora sounds better to my ears than Ethos. If anything, Ethos is the more "kit-car" sounding name.

Ethos sounds more like a Pininfarina concept car to me. Oh, wait a minute, it is!

Evo magazine are also running quite strongly with the Evora name, just so you know.

Well, the problem with "Ethos" is that it may be a bit too close to "Eos" when you say it. And we don't want people thinking this is a Lotus sports car:

The problem with Ethos is that the Eagle project is hardly the principle of Lotus design when compared to the Elise. That I think is the biggest issue with the name.

They could go with "Europa," and quit selling the slower and slower-selling Elise clone...

Because that wouldn't make for confusion among buyers at all 💡

I'm not exactly certain what you're trying to get at with that comment, but all I know is that Confusion, along with Delay, is something to avoid.

You could say you're causing me confusion.

He means that very shortly after releasing the Europa S, they changed the name to just Europa and then the following year with a completely different car that shares nothing whatsoever with the car it is replacing. That's confusing to car buyers.

Also, I'd love to see them actually remake the original's Europa's shape to fit the modern lineup. It's such a challenging design to revisit, I'd love to see them try to do the original justice.

Bingo!

That would be an awesome design to see them attempt. The original Europa is quite distinct looking, though modernizing it would, as you say, be quite a challenge.

Why can't they just call it the Eagle?

Why can't they just call it the Eagle?

Apart from sounding a bit naff i think Mitsubishi/Chrysler/Cerberus/Daimler-Benz might have something to say about it.
