It's like in Driveclub @torque99

When you start photomode in DC you start with the car that looks "stretched/fishy/dodgy" and you can use the R2 button to "proportion" the car. This option seems to fail in Mad Max.

I haven't advanced that far in the game. Still in Jeet's Territory because I keep cruising around without doing main missions. Will have to speed up a bit because the wasteland has many beautiful places to discover.

The pics you took from the water, where did you find it? Haven't come accross it yet :embarrassed:
 
Does it have photomode in the Xbox version? It's getting cheap now, but I've no interest if it doesn't let you capture pictures.
 
Oh man, I got this at launch and looking through again makes me want to pick it back up! Such a great game!

The best games always have 1 moment that gets to you or sums up the brilliance in the detail. For instance I remember 1 particular part of Bioshock where a shadow suddenly runs away and you understand that this isn't just a bloody game, but actual a thriller looking to make you jump. It got the hairs on the back of my neck standing up!

For me in Mad Max, it was something very different. I completed the game and was tracking down all of the scavenger locations on the map when I came across one starting underneath a tall rock and climbing through small gaps and past the usual small fires and camp belongings. You keep going a little further up and through another small gap until you are now on a small enclosed cave looking out over the terrain. That would be enough on it's own, but as soon as you exit the small gap you see 2 skeletons side by side on an old rug, the floor covered in petals and hearts drawn on the walls. Amongst all of the madness and rage within the game, you realise that there would have been those people utterly terrified by the travesties of the time, and that these 2 found solace simply in being together until the end. It takes a lot to make me well up, but this did it. I actually paused and took a moment to go to my wife (I think she was upstairs drying her hair or something like that!) and it just reminded me that no matter how bad things can ever get, we'll have each other.

I immediately went and punched a beer or something, because you know I'm totally manly and ain't gonna cry because of no video game...
 
From what I have seen quite a few reviewers dislike Mad Max but most players think it's a good game, to me the environment looks pretty boring and it's probably the only thing stopping me from the getting the game in the future.

Is it quite dense like Fallout 4 or empty like the regions in MGSV?
 
@doblocruiser I think you may have the Field of view too high (2nd one down) I find over 3/4 it can make things look out of proportion. Bring this down then zoom out then slowly bring in the zoom again, as all mine have come out fine once I done that and only use the FOV high for far landscape shots.

The water and volcanos are on the very Far West of the map (in Gutgash territory) I set the route and just had a cruise/drove over there for 5 minutes, well tried too! You have to fight off 2 convoys and snipers:ill:. I am also still doing Jeets missions (there are so many this will take me months!)but you can drive half the map (which I have now done) but it won't let you drive further north.

There is loads of nice scenery out there although @Peasantslayer a lot of it is like the Film, very open deserted wastelands, I tried to take some high up pics so you can see the landscape of the game in different areas, It is not as dense as Fallout, this is very populated with houses/roads/buildings etc while mad max has old boats/caves/sand deserts) etc (I haven't played MGSV)👍

@torque99 Beard only gets a certain length but you'll unlock other stuff for Max ;)

Mounted the explosion Harpoon (mission) to get to Pink's Eye. Currently discovering this new territory. Still busy getting to meet up with the lady of the house. Found the field of view option yesterday and it worked like a charm. Played for 2 hours yesterday evening and the change between cruising, car battles and hand to hand battles are great fun. Love the way those mighty thunderstorms come up :bowdown:

Photomode in this game is extremely addictive :D The game is very colorfull and the explosions are one of the best I've ever seen in a videogame. The wasteland has enough variety and one discovers all the time new stuff. Hope Avalanche will get another Mad Max game out there in the future.
 
Yes I am way behind you, loads of stuff to do in jeets yet, I have cleared all mines, and the bottom of the map just working my way in to some tough camps, trying to find ways in rather than the front explosions!

I watched the Film Fury Road again tonight to remind myself and I really like the subtle hints they have put in the game i.e orange storms, blue skys/sand, convoys, finding oil/water, canyon landscapes, sand deserts, the flares, the half lifes (bald,white/black paint) and the cars look familiar.

I understand why they didn't follow the film as there is mainly driving one way then other back through the other way and it is good they have made the map and all the territory , but in game so far I found no Bikes which were a large part of the film in the middle..do they come in later? And where is the big Oil truck do you find that later?

Have you all seen the film what did you think of it?

I have seen the film multiple times and I find it awesome! It was my best cinema experience of last year. Truly epic to watch on a big screen. As you say, the game doesn't follow the movies and that's good. It has given the developer great freedom. There are some easter eggs to find in the game and some locations refer to the movie.

Unfortunately there are no bikes nor the big truck to drive. It was one of the complaints wenn the game came out.

@Pezzarinho17 I think I found something like you found in a shrine, it had a note about bringing family including dogs down and not making it :nervous: but I am not sure if it was the same one you found and there are more of them.👍

I had a few days off recently and managed to have quite a few evenings progressing in the game, I now have made the 'Jack' car and in to Gutgash Territory and these are still the pics! Very addictive to keep snapping away at new places/scenery. I am nearly catching up! I have a busy time at work at the moment so just uploading when I get a chance:tup: I think this is going to last months this game all these missions on the map, a lot larger in game than I thought it would be. I hope I can stick it out and it doesn't get too repetitive for me......

If you wan't that things don't get repetitive I recommend you focus on the main story missions and do some stuff aside. There are so many camps to clean out that sometimes it can feel a bit repetitive. I try to change as as much as I can during my sessions. I always like taking out convoys, that is so much fun!

I have a few camps left out to clean up in Jeet's territory. In Gutlash I almost haven't touched the camps :embarrassed:, Pink Eye the same, it's unlocked but I haven't developed my Max and Magnum Opus enough to explore the territory, so for the moment I'll stick to the first two.

I found the water 👍, it will be involved in a mission later on.

For upgrading Max and the Magnum Opus, it's the fastest when following the storyline and doing the wasteland missions. If you go into the car upgrade menu you can see exactly what is needed to be done to unlock certain parts.

I took on this group with no weapon and my health was down, but Fury kicked in, the fights are really good and you feel the weight of the punches and good after they are all down, but they are getting harder to beat now especially the camps are quite hard work getting even inside them, any tips @doblocruiser for the first camp in Gutgash? It has a ladder on the front of the camp, but I keep getting knocked off it with flames is this the best entrance? cheers :cheers:

The flames in front of the entrance are connected to a fuel barrel. Use your shotgun or the harpoon to take it out.

There are a few things you can do:

- Upgrade Max in your menu
- Enhance Max performance by visiting the mystery man (kind of skull/face item on the map)
- Clean out the big camps first in Jeet's territory
- In Gutlash take out a couple of pilars that reduce the threath and some of the smaller camps so you can upgrade Max further.

If you haven't upgraded Max to a certain level , camps with 3 stars are extremely hard. When you fight make sure you notice the triangle icon for defending.

Cheers @doblocruiser :cheers: I think I will clear more of Jeets first before I travel across any more to Gutgash, I thought this was getting hard, in the fight ^^ I forgot to use my shotgun and press the triangle I was concentrating too hard:ill: in punching them all with the pressure on! I am not used to these role player types of games and all this violence - I like driving the car more once you clear an area it is far more relaxing to drive and cruise round :D!👍

Have to check my stats to see where I am. Haven't payed to much attention but I still haven't unlocked a V8. Think I am close though :dopey:
