Parity Assignments - Low Power, Hot Hatches, Legends
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Race #1: 12 laps @ Matterhorn Short Track (damage heavy, 1 pit) // Low Power
Race #2: 17 laps @ SSR5 Clubman (damage heavy, 1 pit) // Hot Hatches
Race #3: 6 laps @ Cape Ring (damage light, 1 pit) // Legends
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PLEASE NOTE: The Legends List has been "revamped".

If it turns out that someone comes and doesn't have the new list, then we'll revert to the old one, if necessary.
But I think we'd all like to start using the new list, as it's much improved. :D
Except for that we have kept the undesirable Skyline that @amarynceos dislikes so much. lol

The cars added are:
Lotus Europa Special '72
Nissan Fairlady Z 300ZX (Z31) '83

Pontiac Firebird Trans Am '78
Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z Concept '88
Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex (AE86 Shuichi Shigeno Version) '00

Is there something special to regard when pitting at Matterhorn Short Track? Tried 3 times, last time with 30km/h, had drive through 3 times. I'm sure i didn't go offroading. :odd:

@tarnheld
At the time I thought maybe you were confused about having a ghost pit crew. (There are no pit crew 'avatars' that change your tires at Matterhorn tracks at all, it seems. But the tires do get changed.)
But I watched the replay, and your car didn't pull over at all.
I have no idea... it didn't look like you did anything special on pit entry. :boggled:

I had no problems at all. And I was concerned too, because the entrance is in an awkward place. :odd:
@gkgamer had problems at Matterhorn the other day.

Elsewise...
Sorry I'm behind with posting results.
Combination of Real Life and also waiting on some reviews.

Fun races today, especially the Stratos. My apologies again to @nickg07 @ryzno and @Handlebar for collecting y'all in my misfortunes. :dopey: Especially @Handlebar -- I lost it at the exit of the banking and ended up backwards against the outside wall. I knew you were pretty close behind me, so I thought jumping on the throttle and looping around would end up with me collecting you. I was waiting for you to go past, when suddenly I saw an enormous Jag snoot pointed directly at me, and WHAM! :ouch: Oops.

Also, @watermelon punch didja see my kinda sweet 360 in front of you? :sly: :dunce:

Race #3: 2 laps @ Charmonix West // Traffic

There was a collision between me & snowgt, not long before the finish, and appeared to be just an unfortunate race incident in the snow. Nevertheless, my apologies for not being the tidiest driver in the snow.
tarnheld reported having collided with my car... but I have no memory of this, and as I didn't gain any position by it, and was not inconvenienced by it, there was no reason to review that.

Race #4: 4 laps @ Cape Ring Inside // Traffic

15-2r4.jpg

There was a race incident between myself & gkgamer... gkgamer made concession, but I was already off track myself when his car collided. Perhaps it was a case of bumper hypnotism. :ouch:

Cool, thanks for the racing! I choose...

- 90's Sports and Mount Panorama for the parity race.
- Legends at Suzuka 2014.

Would be glad, if you use those not in the late time slot, so I can take part. ;)

Had mixed races yesterday. I had done 3 laps prior to entering the lobby, but on Eiger instead of Matterhorn Short. Duh. Anyway, luckily there was some time to find the line that was needed to be competitive. Who would have thought the RRRRR-Wagon actually was? Was able to stay close (0.3s) to Longbow until he pitted, then thought why not use the clean air to do some good laps as long as the tyres were good, hoping maybe Longbow would have to fight through traffic. So I came in only 2 laps from the end, and when I left the pits I was in the lead for a couple of seconds until Longbow edged by again while I was still accelerating. I followed him for a lap which was when he got a tyre on the grass in the double-right before start/finish and I was just able to squeeze past immediately after. Unlucky - he had it in the bag already.

Race 2 was a little messy at the start. I had the feeling people didn't really care it was a heavy damage race. The Citroen was chewing tyres so it was clear I had to come in after lap 8 or 9. Was behind Longbow again - he came in after lap 8, so I made another round and then must have come in slightly too fast as I was held in the pits for an eternity after the tyres had been changed. The result was that I came out so far behind Longbow that I didn't even see him on the standings anymore. Fought up to 6th, had a nice battle with tacom's BMW along the way.

I was taken out in turn 2 by one of the Trans-Am's in race 3. Seemed like he first thought he could drive by on the inside of an A110 taking the inside line (like that's going to happen), and when the gap really wasn't there, just drove me off the road by ramming my back and staying on the throttle and spinning me around. I was not particularly impressed by that move. Fought back to 3rd which was a good result, considering.

I did not stay on the gas, I did misjudge the turn. And I clipped your rear quarter panel in the enter of the turn, realized what I did,and practically stopped while you spun out.

You make it sound as like I pushed you around and kept going, which is not the case.

And I did apologise.

Peeps, the rules, prohibited:

In This League Thread
  • discussing topics that are likely to lead to arguments, insults, or offense (such as politics or religion)
  • insults, rude jokes, incendiary comments, double entendre, etc.
  • generalized complaints about drivers or incidents that could lead to misunderstandings or bad vibes
  • lodging race incident reports - use the private conversation feature of the forum
  • debating the car list ordering -- Use the TT thread ( http://bit.ly/makeshift-timetrial ) to discuss that
  • asking others questions of a personal nature that may be unwelcome
  • obviously - anything that's against the AUP of GTPlanet forum
  • when in doubt, use the Private Conversations feature of the forum 👍

Please refrain from making generalized complaints because it creates bad vibes, and sometimes things don't get communicated in a productive way.

Of course, if you feel someone has been needlessly sloppy or exercising poor judgment, or you want to discuss an incident that you feel requires comment or correction... definitely start a Private Conversation, and include whoever you think should be included.
That way we can offer helpful hints & tips... without the pressure of showcasing & defensiveness. 👍

Just an FYI:
I reviewed all the races.
There were a few accidents and incidents, but nobody appeared to break any rules. In the cases of collisions, contact concessions were made.
In the cases where cars went off track or spun out (for whatever reason), all the drivers involved acted appropriately in the aftermath.

In fact, I was delighted that everybody used caution & restraint about re-entering the track. 👍

It's not unusual for people to go off track or spin out or misjudge a turn in the Legends cars. They are quite a handful, every single one of them. And even the most controlled drivers can find themselves in a pinch once in awhile in most of those cars.

Also, the Firebird is a new addition to the list. So it's not unexpected that they would be involved in some incidents, as most have had little or zero experience racing in that car yet, and most are unfamiliar about how that car will behave on the track...

So in this format there are 2 things at play...
One is knowing the tendencies of the car you're driving.
The other is knowing the tendencies of the other cars you're racing against.
It's a more complex scenario, and misjudgments are easily made.

The important thing is how we handle a mistake or incident once it's occurred.

Got to admit i wasn't on form for race 2. I hit someone early on lap 2/3 had to pit alongside my victim and then had interesting tyres for the remainder of the race.

Apologies to water melon punch (think i hit your back, after someone crashed into you and i did brake, going down into the tunnel..

In race 3 i tripped on a curb, fell off track. Tried not to rejoin till the pack went past but someone missed the corner and hit me:/

I had a lot of fun yesterday. Hadn't slept for 35 hours when the race started so I'm sorry if my driving wasn't all that great at times. :P

First race was a bummer. That be-1 had no chance in the uphills and I managed to get in trouble every time in the double right hander so had even worse speed in the race. :P

Second race got interesting after the pit stop. Got a penalty for speeding and longbow passed. Even though he had the slower citroen, it's always a challenge to beat him. Had a nice fight but got away. Amary was unbeatable in the mini though.

Third race I almost skipped because of massive headache but then I tried the etype and fell in love. Just messed around laying smokescreens at first. But noticed how fast tacom8 had gone in the same car (thought he was also using the etype, but turned out he didn't) so had to try and match it in the last laps. Didn't come close though. Fun race all the same and those alpines were menacing closing in in every corner, both trying to pass every way thru could. :)

I apologise for insinuating that you didn't back off when first contact was made. The replay showed that you did and it only felt like it to me while being in the car because of a second contact that can be seen as accidental. Therefore I shouldn't have made that comment without checking the replay first. There was nothing wrong with your behaviour after contact was made.
