Manhunt, good? bad?

This game is really twisted.

If you like sneaking up and wrapping a plastic bag around a guys head till he dies ,or stab him with a glass shard or a knife. you can even get a wire and cut off a persons head and carry it with you to throw and distract the other hunters.
the bad part about the head is it turns blue the longer you carry it!
Alot of cussing and racial remarks are also in this game I'm sure there will be alot of contraversy (not sure about the spelling of that word) about this game

Finally played and well, i think it sucked! I saw all these good reviews, but never have i've played such a repetitive game in my life. Executions were cool, but no variety at all.

Opinions vary a lot on this game. I agree that you do pretty do the same thing over and over again, luring the enemies while hiding in the shadows, then executing them, but I still had fun playing through the entire game. This game was released on PC awhile after the PS2 version, and I'm thinking of picking up the PC version to play the game again because I'm sure it's better.

Rented it. Almost beat it within Blockbuster's 1-week rental period, but the Pigsly was too tough. (the very last boss, to boot. It's cause I had no REAL WEAPONS  )

Yes save your money on San Andreas. The Renderware engine dating back to 2001 (GT3) is even further refined than in Manhunt. Plus you can free roam and drive cars! :) (and bicycles and motorbikes and helicopters and tanks and airplanes and boats)

It looks very gory and there's nothing wrong with that. But it's been under fire as a kid killed his friend and said that the game inspired him I think. So certain shops took it off their shelves followed by a call for the game to be banned.

About the head you carry around turning blue, that's cause it eventually gets wrapped in a plastic bag. Sorry for bringing this thread back from the dead.

:scared: wow... uh... yeah good training to be some kind of violent criminal I suppose. :dopey:👍

WTF?! you can't control your action like in Splinter Cell... you watch a clip of you killing a guy. 👎:grumpy:

The game is awesome man. How do you mean repetitive? If this game is repetitive then I guess Onimusha and Devil May Cry were repetitive as well because you had to cut up and shoot enemies?

The entire fun element of this game isn't the killing of enemies, it's the sneaking that makes this game incredibly cool. The twisted environment only adds to this and the game is very challenging. If you're easily shocked then don't play this game, but if you like violent games and are up for a challenge this game is a must have. Most games are incredibly easy lately, Manhunt isn't. Besides that if you get farther into the game you get guns, which makes it a completely different game than the sneaking at the first half of the game.

I paid 60 bucks for it when it just came out and I was really satisfied with it. The game isn't for everyone, but saying that it sucks is just plain ignorant.

:odd: I never said repetitive I just think it sucks ass that you watch a movie of your character killing than to actually control him as he does the killing. 👎

I bought it almost one and a half years ago, gotta hate how you find old games cheap when you paid full price earlier. :yuck:

I know what you mean with the killing animation, but that only happens with sneak kills. You can shoot them yourself. :) I don't really know how they could make it interactive and fun at the same time. If it would have been interactive killing it probably would be corny anyway. The game isn't really about the slaughtering even though that's what it was advertised with the most.

I actually think making the kills more interactive would have made the game more enjoyable for me.

I liked playing the first few levels with the hoods because you can beat them up face to face and hear them beg for their lives when they're on the ground, or watch them run. Being able to control the punches and kicks it felt a lot more brutal.

Maybe for the executions they could have let you mash a certain button to make the kill go on as long as you want, then once you stop it finishes. If that was the case I'd probably slip the plastic bag over a guy's head and pummel them for five minutes.
