If PD were to add manual transmission karts to the game it would be so fun! What do you think?

I definately think that Shifter karts should be added. I was really hoping that that is what the 125sp would be.

For those kinda interested there are 2 types of gearbox kart. 125CC and 250cc, the first go about 120mph and the later 160mph. They are beasts, 250s are about the same speed as formula 3 cars. They are serious racing machines.

I was very surprised that the new 125cc kart wasn't a shifter.

I did the bondurant superkart school a while back and those karts are outrageous.

It would be fun to drift them if they had a manual transmission. And yes I would like that it would make it more fun.

The 250 World Super Karts would have qualified 7th or 8th at Laguna Seca for the IMSA race years ago. The only GT1 cars they did not run faster than were the Corvettes. And yes those were the real GT1 cars not today's standard of GT. Eddie Lawson was the pilot.

160mph in a go-kart :O that would be dam scary!!!

At the Bondurant school we were limited to 80 due to the short straight, but I can tell you 80mph with your butt 2 inches from the pavement is fast. I braked late for turn 1 and wound up spinning through the cones in the runoff area. Major pucker factor.

Amazing how some people think their opinion overrides reality...I dont know about it so it must not exist. Even more amazing in the internet era when it takes 30 seconds to learn something new.

Actually the Karts are easier to drift in reverse. :dunce: I tried it online in a drifting lobby full of annoying people. :D

And multiple gears would be great in the karts, although I don't think you get more than 2 speeds in real life.

FWIW, 250 shifter karts can top 90 HORSEPOWER...UFB:D
0-60 sub 3 seconds
3 gees on a skid pad
serious beasties
and believe it or not 400 shifter carts exist

Oh OK I guess you guys are right. It's just I had never seen a kart with gears before

I knew these karts were fast(shifter karts) but not this fast :scared: 0-60mph in 3 seconds? :dunce: Top speeds exceeding 130mph :scared:

That is insane, wish I could drive one. :D

I've actually seen a v8 kart somewhere on the internets, but I doubt it could actually be classified as an official go-kart. It was damn cool however.

Shifter karts are among the sweetest things in motorsports. I was among those disappointed and surprised that when PD gave us three new karts one was not among them.

The 250 shifter karts on some tracks exceed 180 mph. Thats not a ultimate top speed, thats race gearing which means it has to accelerate to that speed in the distance the track provides. At Bonnieville they go much faster :D
They would compare with the GT500 class cars in our game

There are also 1000cc shifter karts, they just are garage builds but definitely will make need some new pants after your run. I'd love to build a gsxr kart, let alone a 125 kart but unfortunately, I missed out on my chance to start racing when my family had sufficient funds to do so. Indoor karts are all I have unil I move out and have a steady career that allows me to drop a few thousand on one.
