I couldn't see it possibly because of three reasons. 1-I wasn't out late enough, 2-There's a very bright streetlight outside and I coulnd't see it, 3- (the most likely) They said it would be in the southwest and unfortunatly there's a lot of trees towards the S.E.

Oh, well. I got to see the Meteor shower that was last year (or was it two?) and that kicked ass. I'll never forget it.

I'll be in the mountains of Arizona in 3 days,... do you suppose I'll be able to see it as well as last night even though it's only 4 days after "the day"?

Well, here's an excellent picture of Mars. I could still see Mars now, but its so small, only a small, bright dot visible in the night sky. Still kicks ass 👍

It has been the brightest thing in the sky for weeks, and will continue to be the brightest thing in the sky for weeks. That's how you find it, look all around and the brightest thing in the sky is Mars.

Speaking of Mars, what do you guys think about the all-famous 'Face on Mars'?
This famous picture was taken way back in 1976 BTW.

It's really an amazing thing to actually see a rock formation (if that's what it is) which resembles a human face. Amazing, yet scary at the same time for me.

let me tell u my dumbass story, well when i went out to look the first time it was at about 9 so mars was still low in the sky, about midnight i looked out again and it was in a different spot and i was thinking, that cant be mars it moved! it must be a plane flying through the sky far away, well i must of been way over tired because, it took about 5 mins for me to relize it was always like this because of the earths rotation

It's been proven that it is not only a rock formation, but one that looks absolutely nothing likek a face. That photo was taken when the shadows we're being cast just in the right way,... I've seen different shots of the same area, at a different time and you wouldnt even know it was the face area.

It's been cloudy every single night ever since I got off of work. And I go back to work tomorrow, so I've been screwed over by nature. I missed a once in a life-time opportunity. I know it will be the same size for about a month...but still...I can never say I saw Mars when it was its closest in 60,000 years. AGHHHH.
