It's not a 360 exclusive, you can get it on the PC.

and back on subject - the only achievement ive left is insanity. im using an full biotic with grunt armor boost.

Erm sorry, i meant an exclusive to Microsoft, of which both the 360 and PC are host to. It's still Bill 'will-never-lose-the-geek-image' Gates flexing his financial muscle in the end innit?

So would you say the same thing about all the Sony exclusive games?

Oh absolutely. I feel sorry for 360 owners who cant experience the delights of Uncharted 2 or God Of War 3. Likewise with PS3 owners who, like myself, would love to play Mass Effect 2, Gears Of War, Halo etc. without having to splash out on another console. Im sure im not the only one who thinks that exclusivity should be a thing of the past. With GT5 taking so long, i envy 360 owners who have Forza 3 just now.

i only have arkangel left to recruit in insanity. i am seriously dreading the collector trap because i always have troubles on the moving platforms with the drone with shock wave. plus the flying drone with a laser though it wasnt that bad in veteran.

i hate it when i get pinned down and get bombarded with shockwave.

I am on insanity but decided to try the free DLC. Now I am stuck on that level with the hammerhad and just said heck with it. I just dont have the patience to go through this game anymore on insanity, especially now that I am stuck in the hammerhead mission. I am just not feeling this game anymore.

the hammerhead can take practically no damage, but, if you stay at a distance the geth never fire back. plus, there is only two missions where you actually fight anything in the hammer head. the one your on and then the final mission, but, the rocket drones are relatively weak. just dont run them over as im sure itll kill you in insanity

if the pulse rifle only available in insanity or did it become available after fully upgrading a weapon? normally in talis recruiting missions, the pulse riffle in talis room on the ground is scan only. this time i was able to pick up which means im going to take assault riffle training when the time comes.

right now im using tali with her exploding combat drone with grunt and squad inferno rounds. when i get legion ill switch grunt out for legion and have two exploding combat drones.

im finding that i need to use class special skills are actually needed. for instance, singularity, will hold anything in place and keep them from doing anything on anything up to a scion (big metal thing that fire shock wave at you). But, anything stronger like a geth prime, heavy mech, and flying mech with laser eyes are unaffected until all of their armor/shields/barriers are down.

i wish i could get legion sooner :( what would be even more awesome is if they release extras skins that gets rid of the whole in his chest. i just want to walk up to it and reach my arm through  probably get electrocuted though :p

i dont think im going to do insanity again though. its not hard just frustrating. i nearly killed the warden the first time as i knocked him down with the arc projector, turned to the right, shot someone else and with out touching the left thumb stick i was magically out from my cover and he lit me up. i died before i even knew what happened.

[edit - i wonder what the update did ...]

I heard a rumor that they increased the scanning speed and size for the planets??? Can anyone confirm this?

Yeah, i believe thats it. the scanner does move significantly faster and i dont have the scanner update on this run through.

oh, and CB, the gun on the hammer head does not over heat. but, it never did.

[double post]

So, I finished insanity and i'm really annoyed. I killed everyone but Jacob, Samara and Sheperd. So, what do I have to do to die? I did none of the loyality missions and none of the ship upgrades.

Samara, Jacob and all of the crew are still alive. Turns out if you go to the reaper station right away you can save all of the crew and not just half.

on the plus side, i've all achievements done 👍

[edit - lmfao - i left miranda behind dead on the collector station and yet there she was to claim responsibility for sending jacob the message.]

[TP  sorry]

Finally, I managed to kill Sheperd. All it took was not getting Zaeed and Kasaumi, not waking up Grunt and sending Legion to Ceberus. The rest just fell into place.

I've found out though that Samara will advance much quicker than you through the first phase of the suicide mission.

Well I just finished the game. Finished Paragon and I chose to blow the crap out of the station... Hopefully Mr. Sheen doesn't kick my ass in ME3. I wanted to take the tech, but I was afraid of that terminator-lookin' sumbitch. I thought The Illusive Sheen was going to turn into a reaper-pawn or something. Didn't trust those eyes.

The biggest thing I hate about this game is that you can't pimp multiple hoes. Hopefully they change that in ME3.

Freakin' awesome series though. So glad I got it on sale on Steam.

overlord is a fun expansion, but, how is autism still around in the ME universe where everyone is genetically altered in the womb to be perfect?

ME2 arrives on the PS3 on Tuesday. I've got my pre-order in. The PS3 version will use the ME3 engine, and feature all previously released DLC content all on one disc. And in case you're worried about missing out on ME1, fear not, because there's a ME1 comic of the first game that will allow you to make decisions that will effect the game and story of ME2. This should allow for multiple play throughs.

Reports from the demo say that the PS3 version is smoother and looks much better than the original Xbox 360 version. Just remember to thank EA for buying BioWare and for loving the PS3 enough to bring this series to the system. And don't forget that ME3 is do out at the end of the year. Mass Effect 3 should complete the trilogy, although, it might not be the last we hear of Shepard.

Fixed for accuracy.

I recently played through ME2 again as I bought all the DLC when it was on sale and hadn't played it. After not playing the game for about a year I realised how good it was despite criticising it at first for being less RPG than ME1.

yeah i downloaded the DLC this week also, havent run through all theDLC missions. I'm really looking forward to ME3

I'm exited to play it. And it sounds like there will be one final set of DLC content for both PS3 and 360 before ME3 comes out.

My review:

Mass Effect 2 for the PS3 is a great game. Everything is smooth, there's lot to do, good acting. I mean, it's like they took everything good about every sci-fi movie and game and mixed together with an awesome arching storyline that's easy to follow. And the PS3 version is a little better as it has all the DLC content and it uses the Mass Effect 3 engine. However, there are issues with the game and most probably stream from using a newer engine. There are countless glitches and you can get stuck. I've even had the game freeze on me twice. But, it feels like it's more due to the baby engine that is probably unfinished since the Mass Effect 3 doesn't come out until the end of this year. So, in some ways, it's the better version of Mass Effect 2, and in other ways, it's the crappier version that they gave the ME3 Engine to just so they could beta test it.

Also, I've heard in the first game there were a lot of same-sex reletionships that you could follow. However, in ME2, the only relationships you get a trophy for are hetero-sexual. Although, as a woman, there are some homo-erotic relationship you can pursue, none of them really effect your relationships with the hetro-sexual characters. While it's not a big issue, it kinda feels like an apology on BioWare's part since so many people complained about the homosexual relationships, despite the fact that you don't really have to have those relationships at all if you choose.

However, the characters you can have relationship with are pretty interesting and it makes you want to play through the game several times just to see the result of those relationships. Still, they should have let you have romantic relations with either side of the gender line and maybe love triangles or whatever. Maybe for ME3.

In short, there's a lot to two, but the game's brand new engine causes issues, and no gay and lesbian sex. A 4 out of 5.

yeeah, in the pc version you can get stuck on boxes and rocks and walls sometimes,so save often.

Yeah, there have been several times where an option to jump would be very helpful. The worst one so far is going past the entrance thingy in the shuttle when trying to save the kid. Fell into a dark hole and the game didn't restart me from the last checkpoint. I had to do it manually. But, it's not all terrible. But a lot of the issues seem like engine issues that could be fixed with an update. And I'm sure that's what will happen once BioWare is back from their "hiatus". (probably just monitoring the readouts and data from ME2 on PS3.

Just picked this up last night before work. I had a lot of cleaning and stuff to do (inspection is today), so I was only able to get about two missions deep.

For what it's worth, so far so good. There were a few frame rate tiffs, but I think it's due to the new engine. Will update later when I have more time with it. :)

There's a LOT of references to various other games and movies. The main storyline is EXTREMELY Halo-esque. I mean you have the Collector (Flood) that are trying to bring back a giant machines that are programmed to destroy all sentient life in the universe (Halo rings). You end up joining forces with a former enemy (Convinant)...it feels a lot like a Halo RPG. But then you have the Harbinger which looks like the aliens from ID4. C-sec is like MIB, and there's elements of Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell mixed in, as well. And yet, this Sci-fi soup works surprisingly well. But, the story is a tad predictable if you've played the Halo games.

First Patch for PS3 ME2 is coming soon.

Apparently, there's a bug that corrupts the game saves. The current work around is to restart every once and while. However, BioWare has patch in the works.

Here is a full rundown of the patch:

* Fixed a crash related to memory fragmentation. This fix will also resolve the crashing that corrupted Save Games.
* Slightly improved load times and level streaming.
* Added some telemetry to better improve future titles.
* Updated some strings to fix spelling mistakes (Sorry Kaidan!)
* Fixed the picture frame in Shepard's Cabin to accurately reflect your love interest choices in Mass Effect: Genesis.
* Fixed a rare crash in the PSN version in Shepard's Cabin.

Some loading seems oddly long, like changing levels of the ship. I'm enjoying it but for the most part it gets boring in the same way Dragon Age did... So much dialogue it makes drowsy gaming impossible without falling asleep....

Before I start playing GT5(wow that seems so long ago), I was on ME2 binge on PC. What a game really.....Went through it 3 times in like 2 weeks and each time with a different ending and out come. One of the all time great game for sure...

Sorry for digging up such an old topic, however I have a question regarding this game hence the dig up ..
I have bought the Mass Effect Trilogy and I am currently playing ME2.
The game wants me to input redeem code to PSStore however I can't find ant code inside the package - is there any ? should there be any ?
Or is the version of the game "full" and I will be able to get 100% of trophies without any additional cost or any code ?

The game itself is quite good, however I'm playing it on Insane difficulty and it really is insanely hard... :) - battles take ages and since you can't save during the battle it might be a bit frustrating when you need to repeat it all from the beginning, especially when you need to restart because the game froze ... :/

Other than that the series is amazing and I'm glad I decided to buy it and play it. These trilogies thing are good - 3 games at a price of 1,5 games :) - just to add at the end I also bought Uncharted trilogy :)
