Whenever you win a special paint chip, like a matte one, don't press OK in the popup window. Quit the game instead. When you load it again you will see the popup again, but it will show a different color (you may be unlucky enough to actually see the same one again). Repeat until you get the one you want.

Oh NICE! I'm going to go find a good way to locate some more. I don't really know at what point you receive paint chips.. I think I got one at 10 cars, and maybe 100, and a few other milestones in between but I don't really know at this point when I'll receive another one..

You get one whenever the number of cars in your garage reaches a multiple of 30. So at 30, 60, 90, 120 and so on.
 
Then I should be due for another one since I'm coming up on 180
 
I can't wait to try this. I really want chrome.

Bugger, I only just got 120 cars today! I will try to remember this for next time, handy to know!
 
so far the M3 is by far the best looking car in matte paint i've found. most the rest look pretty bad apart from the LFA.
 
I don't get how this trading matte paint works...My brother just gave me a matte silver R8 and that's what i got but no paint chip..

You trade the actual paint chips not the car which the paint has been applied to (so once its used its gone), go to your list of items, select paint/matte then send to friend ;)

Matte Silver. I wanted it do be like that shark silver paint or w/e it is on the real M3.

Matte black F40 is very cool indeed. Looks like a piece of military hardware, not that military hardware is cool, but you know what I mean.
