Here's a list of stuff I'd like changed/added:
1.scrolling marquees in signatures: Have scrolling info lines in the sig, so that signatures would beable to have lots of information, but not take up as much space. Jordan, if you allow this, make it so that you can only add the marquees, to prevent people from putting big pictures in thier sigs. I can make these scrolling marquees, and I'll make a model one later of demonstration.

2.The banner contest deal: Alright Jordan, I know you're tired of me trying to get you to do this, but I think(uh ohh)that the banners could be randomely displayed at the bottom of the forum pages inplace of the site meter thingy. This doesn't require a site design change like if you put it inplace of the offical site banner(with the Porsche), and it would beautify the bottom of the pages.

3.Alright, this is more of a question:How do you center your text? I've seen people have it in sigs and in posts, but I can't find the VB code for it(if there is one...). And if there isn't one, can you make one?

That is all for now, if anyone wants to comment, go right ahead.

Man, I implemented this a long time ago from one of LoudMusic's suggestions, but I forget to tell anyone about it (that helps, doesn't it?). :D Anyway, it's new vB code that allows you to move your text to the left, center, or right side of the page. It's not really useful, but fun nonetheless. Here's how to use it (ignore the word "PHP" there, it's the only way I could force the software to ignore the vB code)...

PHP:
[center]When you type the center tag, your text will be centered.[/center]
When you type the center tag, your text will be centered.

PHP:
[right]When you type the center tag, your text will be centered.[/right]
When you type the right tag, your text will be on the right.

That's it! Go ahead and give it a try. :)

Ohhh!!!! Well thanks Josh, I didn't know lol, it's not on the VB guide or anywhere...

Jordan made a thread about it in the News & Announcements forum a while back, but I guess not too many people noticed it since not too many people even check that forum.:(

Are you sad for the forum, Josh? :p

By the way, I also love that marquee idea - it may be tough to implement, though.

Not really M5, there could be a request thread, then you make your own marquee, and jordan puts it in your sig. I think it would help on the huge sigs(yea mine is big, but there are bigger ones...)

The only problem is the marquee's would need to be manditory, and they tend to lag computers as they are javascripts that don't work to well usually.

They would be easy enough to impliment, they just would take lots of coding to make it into a PHP script instead of a java script.

Concerning the Scrolling suggestion, on other forums I go to you can make the text scroll across by typing
[move]you text here[/move]

well actually, I was thinking of animated GIF marquees, but the code would be better.

And DeathHawk, if anyone knows about slowing down connections, it's me, I'm on a 28K connection here.

The problem is it dosn't slow down connections. It reads them fine but browsers have a thing where the don't like showing them.

For some reason some avatars with alot of motion do it to me too.

If there is already a VB script to do it, that would be great!

Just a comment on the banner proposal: I think it's a good idea, but the banner(s) would most certainly have to be downsized... a full-size would be unnecessary... ;) (IMHO)

1. OK, I've just added a marquee tag. However, if anyone abuses this by putting rediculous amounts of text in their signature, it will be removed.

[marquee]This is marquee text. :)[/marquee]

You can insert a marquee by typing [marquee]This text will be scrolling.[/marquee]. You can apply formatting to your message (like bold, italics, smilies, etc.) inside of the [marquee] tag, like this: [marquee][color=red]This text will be scrolling and red.[/color][/marquee]

2. I never said or even implied that that was an "official" banner contest. There isn't really a purpose in displaying the banners other than to please their creators. And then, when everyone starts creating GTP graphics, I will be obligated to make them happy like those before them. That's just not something I want to get into.

[marquee]<Thanks for the marquee formats Jordan!>[/marquee]:)

 It will be just a matter of time when the entire GTP community is scrolling from left to right! :D

Thanks for the marquee Jordan! :)

I hope the text in my avatar isn't the "ridiculous amount of text" you talked about Jordan... :)

You're welcome, guys, it already seems to be pretty popular! :)

No, that doesn't even come close to what I was referring to.

Quest-eon...

Can you also make the marques scroll the other way? It's hard to read some of the slightly longer sentences, because you have to wait for the entire text to "pop" out before you can read it... if it were to scroll the other way, you could read it left to right like normal. ;)

[marquee]Nice Jordan!!![/marquee]

But, as Youth said, it's really hard to read English the way you read Hebrew....any way that you can switch it to the English way?

Hang on, if you can do that, make it so the tag is like [rlmarquee](right to left marquee) and [lrmarquee](left to right marquee)...so then we have a choice.

And I understand your point about the banners and stuff, sorry about bugging you about it.

OK, I'll add a new tag for text going to the left later.
