I dont understand the hate that reviwers have given this game I am loving it so far havent palyed much single player and played about 4 hours of multi

The main thing iv'e found people have disliked about it is that despite having a Beta, There is an unacceptable amount of Glitches and Bugs present in the release version of the game. Although i do believe the 4/10 from IGN is incredibly harsh. Even though i havent experienced the game first hand, I have had feedback from Freinds who have it and Have viewed plenty of video's to know that the game isnt that bad and some reviews especially IGN's are questionable in terms of validity. Funny how with just over 2 weeks to go before the newest Call of duty annual rehash they give a questionable Score to a game that is lets face it, The biggest "rival". And dont forget IGN's insistance on scoring COD's highly no matter how Samey or Stale they get.

I can't really talk about multi since I didnt try it out yet but single player is just not good for me. The story isnt good at all, I wanted to skip all CS, the game isnt that much fun, most of the time you're doing mission on very small map, well to be short it sucks. You never really feel immerged in the game. I really really dont like it.

Having played the beta, finishing campaign, and several hours of multi I can tell you 4/10 is an appropriate score.

The campaign missions are direct knock offs of call of duty, the AI is stupid, glitchy, and pushes you out from cover because their positions are scripted and not real time. Call of Duty mission... Call of Duty breach... Rinse repeat.

Multi spawns are still ridiculous, I can't count how many times I spawned out of bounds, hundreds of feet in the air, or outside of the map, not to mention spawning in the middle of the entire enemy team. Spawning with only the top receiver texture of your weapon... That was a first.

Map design is terrible, hit detection is awful. See a dudes head sticking over a wall? Shoot it and get nothing but hit markers IF you even get hit markers. VOIP is terrible. The menus never save or work correctly.

The game is terrible. 4/10 deservedly. Save your money.

I have played a lot of Multiplayer and finished the campaign and I do not know why the game has low scores. Of course there is bugs, but I have no idea how it is that bad. I know the story is not as good as MoH 2010 but I like it a lot more than BF3 and CoD Black Ops. IMO, It is the 4th best FPS campaign this generation behind MoH 2010, CoD4, MW3. I give the game a 7.25/10. It is not great by any means but it is a solid game with bugs. If Danger Close can fix the bugs then this game will easily rise to an 8.5/10 IMO.

Gameinformer gave it a 5/10 and IGN gave it a 4/10. That bothers me when they give CoD MW3 a 9/10 which has not changed what so ever.

EDIT: My review is based off the Xbox version. The PC version from what I have heard does deserve a 4/10.

Fair enough, Goes to show one cant rely on video's alone, No matter how good they look :) This has cemented my belief that not getting the game was a good move. My first post, I just wanted to show i didnt dislike/like the game as i simply hadnt played it. Thats why i wasnt to harsh on it, Because i wasnt in a position to support the good or crap sides of the argument :)

You made the right choice. Spend that money and pick up Dishonored if you haven't.

The problem is that there are game breaking/changing bugs that should have been fixed prior to release. There is no reason a AAA title should be broken at release. A bug here or there under very, very specific circumstances I can understand; but these are bugs that are prevalent; reviews and the meta score show that.

COD might not have changed, but they don't release a broken game and they introduce new mission types in each iteration. MOHW is a failed attempt at a cod clone.

I know about the game breaking bugs but I just dealt with it. It is annoying with hit detection, spawns, etc but I have played games way worse then MoHW.

Nothing is wrong with CoD at release. You have to wait a few months then you start to see the problems with it.

Ya, a few months. Devs don't have the time to test for several months. Those are bugs that either happen under very rare circumstances or after days worth of playtime you realize "well, that's not QUITE right."

These are bugs that you see within the first hour of play time. Some of them immediately.

EA undoubtedly forced the release prior to COD/holidays.

It shows.

Quite true, But considering the current release Pattern for EA's flagship FPS games (MOH-2010/BF3). Mid to late october is the norm.

How many developers push back the release because the title isn't ready yet?

I can think of several.

I agreed with you that the game was clearly rushed out in an unfinished state, And that was unacceptable. I was just remarking that this was a solid release date given a while ago, Not a harsh unrealistic schedule to just spit the game out in any old, Substandard state. Should have EA had the game delayed? IMO Yes but it's obvious why they didnt. Yes, Because as has been discussed the game is glitchy, Buggy and of substandard quality. No, Because it
would have been released very close to or after BO2, Wich would've been a Disaster.

Regarding your question i havnt got a lot of knowledge of Videogame dev's, pub's and suchlike but i think im correct in saying EA havnt got form in delaying releases?

I will say for definite though, I know FarCry 3 has been delayed before:lol:, And It better not be delayed again or i'll cry i swear:nervous::lol:

I kind of wished they waited until Early 2013 to release it but then people would complain about BF4 and MOHW coming out in the same year, which would lead to disaster.

can you guys tell me what you all are playing on PC.PS3 or 360 I have a PS3 copy I have had no spawn glitches the only thing is once in awhile I have to restart the game because it didnt load my info other than that the game has been running great!

As for delays we are all monday morining QB it we have no idea what happend during the development cycle of this game and to judge the game on its single player alone is a crime. heck many people dont even play single player anymore.

Who's judging it solely on Single player? And just because Multiplayer is the main focus/sellingpoint these days doesnt mean its not important and to be forgotten about. I know plenty of people who enjoy and Appreciate a good campaign/single player experience. Lastly iv'e got to ask, How do you know how many people play SP anymore? It just sounds like your own feelings and preference.

Which I can't wait for as well; I am actually getting free copies because I am side-grading my graphics cards, yet again.

It looks great.

Rented for 360, play it and is ... the worst money I have ever expended on a rental, and probably on a game, period.

Many things wrong with the game, the story is a mess, is technically and mechanically broken, and it's SP managed to be even worse than MoH 2010 (which is pretty much a new record for the series).

Playing through the campaign you have to wonder if Danger Close ever had other ideas than making a bad quality CoD clone(like really bad quality), is ... crap, no other way to describe it: gun play is broken, bugs are everywhere, is not correctly paced, graphics are nice but level design and aesthetics are pretty poor, cutscenes and the story itself is very disorientating and ... well bad (yes, it tries to be a close thing to the experiences that Tier 1 operators and the challenges that their relatives have to face, but is wrong, even the narrative fails to deliver that kind of approach, and is even worse when you are supposed to feel compassion or sympathy towards a foreign that shoots locals randomly and aimlessly).

Haven't had a chance to play MP, but I heard is just as broken(I should note that the appeal I found in MoH 2010 was it's really balanced and well structured MP, but even that seems to be broken on this).

Stay away from this, if you are a military nut just play ArmA II or maybe Spec Ops:the line, it would certainly feel more like a military simulation and a better experience than this, is 60 bucks and I honestly think is a complete waste of money, you are better off with whatever (even BO2).

Is a waste of money, complete waste of it, it really makes me concerned about how BF4 is going to turn out to be.

MOH and BF are in no way related.
I know, but if DICE shares some of it's development with Danger Close (like what they did with MoH 2010), then that game would be into serious trouble.

Ya, if DICE shares development with PD then it's in serious trouble too.

I rented this from Redbox and really enjoyed it. I did think there were far to many slow motion breach sequences, but I enjoyed the driving missions and the campaign in general. Sure it wasn't anything groundbreaking and did try a little too hard to be a CoD clone, but I had fun and that's all that matters. I also enjoyed the multiplayer too, what little I got to play of it. I only played maybe 5 matches but I didn't personally encounter and bugs, gameplay issues or lag and I really liked the amount of customization available.

Keep in mind though, my opinions are based off a $2 rental which I feel was absolutely worth it. I'm not sure if the title warrants the $60 they are asking for it now.

maybe you should play multiplayer before making a judgment call MP is great not perfect put extremely fun especially if you have people to play with you rented it so play the whole game

60 bucks for just Multiplayer is not worth it, compared to everything that has come out lately and what is to come(Forza Horizon, Halo 4, Black ops II, etc...).

If you can get a refund for it, just do it. Hitman Absolution is coming shortly, Forza Horizon is available now, so is Halo 4, Black ops II, and many other games that are worth the money, this is not worth the 60 bucks, not worth the time walkthrough-ing it either.

BF is DICE's show, Im sure they wont need, And evenmore wouldnt want DangerClose anywhere near BF4. What happened with MOH2010 was it was supposed to be a DangerClose game but they got DICE's to do the multiplayer. I doubt DangerClose will have anything to offer or benefit DICE by helping with BF4. Except maybe the Gun Customisation wich did look impressive i have to say.

To make it simple, DangerClose needed DICE a hole lot more than DICE may need it.

The guns feel like they shoot fruit seeds.

And all CODs consistently getting good scores? HOW?

Knock Warfighter for bugs, glitches etc. but to criticise it for a nonsensical story is just a classic example of hitting someone when they are down, especially when CODs after COD4 have not been docked points for the stupidity of their childish 'run from burger king to taco bell and back to burger king' gameplay.

I think that COD gets a pass because it started the Modern FPS craze, it stayed original to its formula (which is both its strenght & weakness) and is what MOH:W tried desperately to copy and failed misserably because it lost any originality left (like the unique cover system in MoH2010) and took FrostBite2 and did absolutely nothing with it (no destructability, clustrophobically linear maps and COD physics) but kept all the bugs and then some. At the end of the day, it was probably the last drop of "COD killers" that made the cup spill. It promised authentisity and brought genericness.

Which is why I'm glad that MOH:W got panned critically. But if it is also being panned for having a main guy that kills hundreds of locals from a certain region of the world, why does COD get a free pass for having the main guy mow down hundreds of locals in South American, East Asian, Russian, East European regions?

I think next time I write a Halo review, I may be inclined to bemoan the slaughter of Covenant Grunts minding their own business on neutral territory.

Played some more today dont know why gameplay felt smoother

I gave the multiplayer a go last night for a bit. I played four games and did not win one of them. :ouch: Each game was against a much better team. I was feeling my way through the game/maps and was a bit lost. I did enjoy the ability to slide to cover though. Great game mechanic.
