Once the PS3 releases prices on these will drop a lot.

Right now, they aren't produced on an extremely large scale, however, I do believe that Sony has starte ramping up their production.

It is also noteable that SAMSUNG has started to use Memory Stick in a select few of it's devices, mainly camera's and camcorders, with rumored plans of some phone use and possibly implementation on their Televisions. Here's to hoping.

But to expect that they will be CONSIDERABLY cheaper within the next year to year and a half. I would expect the 2GB model to actually come to a LOWER price point than the 1GB is right now.

No, the purpose of memory stick in televisions is to view pictures/sildeshows.

Sony TV's have done it for a few years now, and even more recently you'll be able to play MP4 video directly to the TV from your memorystick, it's actually pretty useful.

That's the next TV I'll purchase, a Sony SXRD Wega...they are like gold. Seriously, I would say this is one of the only Sony TV's that truely amazes me, and I'll probably end up buyin it, even with it's hefty price tag...blech.

I find it amazing how sony can fit that amount of gig on a ms duo!!! Its crazy... its like a stamp and weighs nothing... pity solid state data is so expensive!!

Watching MP4 videos on your TV is a pretty cool idea. But the looks really pricey, I'll have to check the price tag.

Just buy a (cheaper) TV with VGA support, then you can watch all the Mpegs you want off you computer like I do.👍

Actually my current TV has DVI support, which IMO is significantly better than VGA...of course that's just preference.

The whole purpose of having the SXRD to me is the performance, and less about the Duo. If you've seen the TV in person, and seen it display 1080p, you will completely understand what I"m talking about. The contrast ratio on this TV is just insane, and the colors are wonderful. It's just a great TV. The only other TV I would hold out for is Samsung's new line of LED DLP's, but I have to wait to see about how they look to me. Generally LED's are dimmer...but Samsung say's these are "brighter"...so I have to wait and see. The one benifit of an LED DLP though, is the bulb life. You take the jump from roughly 3000 to 6000 hours on a traditional bulb, to about 20,000 hours on an LED bulb...which is amazing. So I'll wait an see, lol.

I think i drop the idea of buying the 4GB Datel HDD now, and insted buy a 4GB one aswell as 1GB for backup.

Better off I'd say (the HDD is not very portable in my opinion). The thing is they aren't just releasing it for psp(obviously) there are people who take that may photos(probably the paparazzi) other people use it for storage(saw a sony vaio with a memory stick slot built in, probably most of them now a days),but still an 8gb that would be sooo good, could put so many songs/movies on it.  :D

You got your PSP, waiting for an Xbox 360, and you want a 4GB HDD. You're parents must really be rich.

They need to make a hard-drive-stick.

edit: Do the purple longer sticks (for digicams and stuff) fit the same way that these do?

Alright, until these come around... Where is the best place to buy, with the lowest possible price for a 2 GB.

Ebay sellers are selling them at an average of $100.00 bucks a piece. I hear Wal-Mart has the 1 GB on sell for $72.00. (Scandisk)

Before I settled for the $100.00 shell out, I just wanted to check to see if anyone knew of any other deals out there. I want to start using mine for music.

No, the PSP only excepts Memory Stick Duo and Memory Stick Pro Duo. These cards are much smaller than the normal Memory Sticks (the purple sticks).

Currently, a 1GB stick is going for $75 and a 2GB stick is around $150.

Just found a 4GB hard drive for the PSP 👍, in Argos of all places. I'm not sure but I think it's a Datel product. £149.99 seems a fairly reasonable price to me but I'm sure it'll be cheaper elsewhere, just need to do some probing around the net.

Yeah but its also bluky slow and you get what you pay for. I'd just fork over the $240 for 4 gig MS. Its a $90 primium for the convience.

Edit: 2GB MS are $120 retail and less than $100 shopping online. they used to be $200.
