Unusual shape to the air intake.

The nose camera mounts look like they're mounted a bit closer to the front wing compared to the W06. The air intake looks really big but short compared to the Ferrari SF16-H.

Love the livery though, I think this is the best they've had so far. The Petronas blue on the edge of the wheels are a little weird though, they look nice on the release pics but I wonder what they'll look like when the car's on track.

It looks like the amount of black to silver has slowly increased every year! They used to be the silver arrows!

The Petronas blue / green has been on Mercedes cars for the last few years, 2013 introduction maybe?

Overall though, I'm not sure about the livery. Last year, the Petronas colours blended whilst the black on the engine cover had a defined edge. They have switched both around in 2016 and I wish they would do one or the other for both.

Can't decide if I like the black or not.

I really like the black wings, but I hate the use of black on the engine cover (I think one of their ideas is to give the Merc logo a bigger contrast).
Another problem is how they mixed the Petronas blue (or turquoise maybe? idk) with the silver this year. The two colors used to go great together, but this year, maybe cuz of the excessive black or the design, I don't like it as much.

Maybe they're trying to emphasize what little is left of the Petronas blue on the sidepod by just not making blend into the silver as much as it did in their past cars?

Great point Antares! That's too bad though. The silver and Petronas blue were surprisingly good looking when blended together.

I think if the Petronas blue would just blend in with the silver like the W05 and have the black painted nose from the W01, this livery would be so much better.

Change the Petronas colour to red, and you've got a perfect West Mercedes right there!

Those McLaren's looked so good, everybody started using the silver/chrome with black. Even Haas kind of adopted it now.

I got a feeling Force India is going white (at least I hope it is). We got enough silver cars on the grid as it is.

And they continue with one of the most underwhelming liveries in recent motorsport. (yawn). I hope the car does well though.

Black is beautiful. Sorry, I'm partial towards the black accents :) The big intake is to reduce the need for cooling in the sidepods. Racecar engineering has a short writeup on it. Says it started with the Toyota TF110 and used by Toro Rosso last year.

If the Aston Martin deal hadn't fallen through I was hoping for some sort of racing green. I agree there is way too much silver and black on the grid.

They said it was an integration of the split cooling that started with the W05 where instead of having the main intake and two smaller ones to the sides they turned it into one giant one. They also placed slats in it to split cooling direction.

W07 has a new nose with S-duct exits right above the 44 numbering. Also notable is the mounts are very..minute.
