I dont have any TNT. Is there any other way to blow up those supply buildings?
And once a guard is KO'ed or asleep, is there any way to wake them up again like in MGS2 with the coolant

You can find TNT in the armory near the area just before you fight The End. It's the same place where you find the M63 heavy machine gun.

To wake up guards, kick them. It takes three to four blows. Or, beat them with the torch. I like the torch, myself.

Woot! Ive got the turd snake!! if that is its real name. Its acctually called something i have no idea how to spell.
I called paramedic and then Zero and Signit came and they were like ''wonderful i knew he would do it etc...dont eat it...etc...bring it back and hurry up with your mission...etc''
They dont have to worry about me eating it.. it looks nasty.
When your in the torture room dont you loose everything including your food??

Also how do you give Snake a cold. Since ive had the game hes never had one.

Edit: its called a Tusuchinoko

I don't know how to give him a cold, but he got once while I was playing. Before he met with Eva and the cave behind the waterfall. She gave some cold medicene and it was gone. I can't remember, it happened only once, and I was playing through too fast. I think Paramedic said you can get a cold if you play too long without sleep. I'm not sure, I can't remember.

Oddly, that's the same place where you get all your stuff back, including ol' Turdy, from Eva. Go back outside the cave, and just past the waterfall on the left, look here for the Turd Snake and any other animal, like The End's "parrot." The parrot is in the first tree you come across, and Turdy is near there on the ground flopping around. Oh, if you never jumped in the water here, do so now for the Kubuki (sp?) Mask.

Anyone find it funny that you can knock someone out with repeated blows then, while they are unconscious, you continue to pummel them and it causes them to wake up? It seems strange that doing the exact same thing would cause such drastically different effects. Plus it's just plain brutal to keep pummeling someone! lol but funny, too (in a videogame). Sometimes I feel bad for the virtual guards. Sometimes.

I finished ICO a couple of days ago and as promised now I started on MGS3. I have about 5 hours on the game so far, the plot seems good. I´m just having a hard time getting used to MGS camera style without the radar from the previous games, it´s such a pain in the ass having to use the first person view all the time to see what´s ahead.

Thats cool, I haven't seen thoes vids before, the last one with the head of the CIS is a bit disturbing at the end.

Don't worry, you'll get use to it. It gets more difficult as the game progresses, but not by much. Get use to the idea of keeping track of your camo rating, making sure it's at the maximum possible level and don't forget to use a face paint, look around after moving a certain distance. It's not needed everytime, but it doesn't hurt to do it. Don't forget to use the tools you have. The first time, I roughed it, forgeting of the tools I had. The second time through, I used all the tools availble to me, like radar, sonar, night vision, the microphone, etc... This made for a smoother, and more fun, gaming experience.

Also, don't forget what I listed before about what to do... WARNING! Spoiler Alert!

THINGS TO ACCOMPLISH WHEN PLAYING MGS3 FOR THE FIRST TIME

1. Search and shoot all the Kerotan (green, plastic frogs) in each level. There is a total of 64. Make sure you move left or right of areas on the map to find new areas to move into and then search for the Kerotan. Many people miss the Armory just before fighting The End. Go north east, and you'll see it. Try to remember, EVERY level has one. Even the the levels during the bike chase. Shooting all the Kerotan will earn you the Stealth Suit, which is NOT a uniform. Using the "Duck" uniform you find at the big swamp during the Snake Eater mission, you can hear the Kerotan calling out to you. You'll need to press the start button first, then go back to the level to hear the call.

2. Go for 0 Alerts, 0 Kills and 0 Continues. If going for all the Kerotan is too hard, which it is in my book, then make sure you perform this instead. Reward is of course the Stealth Suit. The tranq pistol must be used on everyone, and that includes the bosses. It's easier than it sounds, but The Fear will be difficult. Remember to leave posinous food around so he'll eat that during the fight. I finished him off with only one shot and a bunch of poisonous food like the Dart Frog, Fly Argic mushroom which can be found on that level. Actually, you'll go through this level twice. It's at night the first time through, and there will be a lot of Dart Frogs around. Make sure to get rid of most of your food and collect as many poisonous items as you can. What's great about this is you can save as much as you want. So, save at every level, if you want. I recommend doing that.

3. Catch a Tsuchinoko (sp?) snake. Use a rat trap at the same area you fight The Fear. A brown turd-like snake will get captured after doing it a while. Keep it alive, and NEVER eat it. You'll get a reward of Infinity Face Paint. You'll lose it when you get captured, but you can get it back by looking on the ground at the waterfall area where you meat with Eva. Actually, you must get your backpack back first after meeting with Eva, then go back outside the waterfall to look for it. Do the same for The End's parrot, but not at the same time. Just remember to tranq it when recapturing it. It's no good if it's dead. I've confirmed you can catch this snake at G? Prud Swamp, the big swamp in the Snake Eater mission where you find the croc hat.

4. Capture all the animals and plants in the game. There is a lot of different animals in the game. Too many to list here. But, if you look out for every animal you see, and hear, capture it or kill it along with all the plants and food items like fruit, bees nest, vine melon, etc. You'll get the brown and the green face paint. I don't know how this works, because I have yet to do it myself. But, people say it's possible. Remember, you'll need The End's parrot and the turd snake. (Update: This will give you the laser tranq pistol for your next game. It has infinty ammo.)

5. When fighting The End, sneak up to him and "hold him up" to get his Moss Uniform. Aim at his head and never move from that position until he gives up his camo to you. Grab it and equip it at once, which means letting The End get away, and use it to crawl around and he'll have a lot more difficlut time trying to spot you. You'll have a 100% camo rating in some areas. The suit also replenishes your stamina when you stand in sunlight, and it lets you get the Mosin Nagant tranq sniper rifle after you defeat him with the tranq pistol only. Remember, no kills. You'll have to look around for the tranq sniper rifle after beating him. It will be on the ground somewhere where you start after beating him. The tranq rifle will make the rest of the game a lot easier for you. Remember, missed shots counts as alerts if you miss. With this rifle, you'll eliminate that from happening. Good technique for fighting The End is look for his "parrot." Tranq it, and capture it. Keep it with you until the end of the game. He'll get mad and start shooting you more if you kill it, but he wont be as effective at spotting you since he uses his bird to spot you. What the bird sees, he sees.

6. Select the pistol on the right during the WIG/Ocelot pistol fight. Never aim or shoot at him. He'll give you the SAA pistol for your next game. The pistol is awesome!

Why didn't you? It's the best game out on the PS2, simple as.It's better than GT4.

Phew...I just beat The Fury on Hard. It took me ages because i kept making silly mistakes. Quite funny acctually. One time i had him with a tiny bit of life left but i caught fire and to put it out i rolled around and accidentally rolled down the ledge. I was so annoyed then but now i beat him i find it quite funny. Another time i had him on low life again and i was getting annoyed...again and shot some barrels in a desperate bid to catch him in the blast but i killed myself...again :indiff:

Now ive done it :) . I got to the torture room and i heard if you save afterwards you can play a game from Snakes dream and it worked....its a bit boring though.
This time instead of using The Sorrows radio freq i decided to get out a different way because thats too easy. I hid under the bed and the guard got worried and i thought he was going to come in but he just bent over and saw me(damn naked camo). So that didnt work so then i kept throwing rotten food but all he did was go to the toilet so i just threw all my food and then he said ''your not all that bad'' and gave me back my cigar spray thingy. I used that on him but it didnt help so after 15-20 mins of standing around i gave in and just used the fake death pill. I was a bit dissapointed because i wanted to try a different method.

Is there any other way to get out. Ive made 2 saves at that point incase any of you have any ideas i can try straight away :D .
Thanks.

when you use the fake death pill, he goes inside the cell and examines you, then just walks away (if i remember right). after that, the cell will be unlocked. Use the revival pill and kill him or whatever lol.

Make Solid vomit, and he'll come into the cell. Kill Johnny with the fork. Heh. Also, keep banging on the cell door to bug him.

I kept banging on the walls and door but all he does is not give me any meals. So the only other way i was unaware of to get out is to make him vomit? :grumpy:
I was hoping there were some more ways to get out. Oh well, on with completing the game...

Banging on the walls only makes him respond with funny lines. Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse you.

There's just the few methods to get out the cell. Use the code 144.75 that The Sorrow "gives" you. Two, throw back the meals Johnny the guard gives you three times for a funny clip, and use the code 144.75 writin on the back of the photo he shows you. Use the code 144.75 writin on the chalkboad behind Sokolov during the video clip when you meet with him. Throw up, kill Johnny with the fork when he enters. Use the fake death pill you get from The Boss during your torture scene, kill Johnny with the fork when he enters. If there's anymore than that, I haven't tried it yet. Oh, if you get the sigarettes back, use them instead of killing our beloved Johnny. Thank you.

Thanks Solid Lifters.
I was thinking about starting a new game and getting 0 kills etc...
When you complete a game is it possible to change the difficulty in the next game?

In my current game im with Eva on the way to the lake. I was worried about fighting Volgin and the Shagohod on hard mode but i found out some brilliant stratergies while fighting them and beat them all on my first go!
Ill post them up if anyone wants? but first i have to go and beat The Boss and see if i can find a more effective way to kill her too. Im on a roll!

No, there is no way, this time, to change the difficulty level and still keep your special items. You have to start all over again and recollect them. I didn't like that idea either, but there's nothing you can do about it. Except, maybe complain to Konami about it, but I doubt they care.

You should have figured out by now, by interogating soldiers, what tactics to use against the Bosses, and others. Volgin is so easy to beat, and well as The Fear. Both can be beat in under 90 seconds. But, that's for a kill, not for non-fatal "tranq" kill, which would take about 45 more seconds.

The Fear: For a non-fatal kill, collect as many poisonous animals and shrooms, and equip them. Toss them all around to the front, left and right of your position which should be the first climbable tree just to the left and front of you when the boss battle first starts. Climb it. Equip the thermal goggles, the tranq pistol, and all the poisonous food you can. Get more food once you pepper the area with food, to heavily saturate the area, because The Fear will go from one available food on the ground, to the next until he finds good food to eat. If he moves to an area where there is no food on the ground, he'll shoot down and eat his own, which brings his stamina level back up. If that happens just once, you're in for a much longer battle.

For a fatal kill, that only takes about 45 seconds to finish The Fear, climb that first tree to the left, equip goggles and use either the M16 or shotgun. He eithers jumps to the same three branches, or the same two branches and never jumps down for food until he's made at least four or five jumps. But, if you shoot him within that time, each time he makes a jump, he'll keep making those stupid tree branch jumps until you take him down. Now, wasn't that easy? That first tree to the front left is the key to the ease of this boss fight.

Volgin: Before placing the last C3, put on the Raiden Mask. That'll give you one free shot. Equip a glow shroom and toss it on the ground. This will attract his lightning bolts, so you wont get hit. Use the M63, fire and never stop aiming at him. Chaff grenades can also be used during the fight. Plus, there are water pipes above you. Shoot them to spray water on Volgin. For a non-fatal kill, use the M63 to bring down his electric shield and once it's down, tranq him.

Fatal Kill: When you first start the battle, during your "free shot" time, toss down a glow shroom. Then, walk up to him and place TNT on the ground all over the area he usually stays. Then, your "free shot" time should be up by then, and run away back to where you first started. Detonate all the TNT. Use the M63 and never stop firing except when equiping and using a new shroom and/or chaff grenade.

Second Volgin Battle: Use RPG6 launcher and shoot the "wheel" of the Shagahod. Once it's disabled, shoot the small, square-shaped rear portion of the Shagahod. Make sure to use the "Equip, Unequip" reloading method. The launcher takes too long to reload the traditional way.

Third Volgin Battle: Use the RPG6 and shoot the "wheel" of the Shagahod to disable it. Use the SVD sniper rifle and aim for his head. Two, or three shots are all that's needed. Done.

These are the tactics I often use. If you've got some great tips, let me know!

I just complete the game on hard. At the end after the credits theres a guy talking, i thought he sounded familiar im pretty sure hes Ocelot. Is he with the CIA then or with the Patriots?
Ive already seen it but i still get pi**ed when Eva points the gun at me because she would have killed Snake after all he for her if it wasnt for The Boss.

Ive started a new game on extreme :nervous: but i dont think ill get too far before giving up.

Both, plus the GRU.

Ive already seen it but i still get pi**ed when Eva points the gun at me because she would have killed Snake after all he for her if it wasnt for The Boss.

She's a Chinenes Philosopher spy with orders to kill Naked Snake. The Boss recognized her, remember, she was a instructor for the Philosophers' spy school and Eva was a student, and she knew Eva would have orders to kill Naked Snake at the end of her mission. That's why she made the deal with Eva to let her have the Legacy, so she thought, and the Shagahod test data, so she thought, and save her life in exchange for Naked Snakes' life.

Ive started a new game on extreme :nervous: but i dont think ill get too far before giving up.

I haven't tried Extreme Level yet, myself. Good luck!

Man i could really do with my infinity face paint and my Patriot right now.
Maybe thats why you cant change the difficulty after completing the game...because it would become too easy. But then why bother getting all that bonus stuff? its not like im going to complete the game on hard again. In MGS2 i used the bonus items in the last game to help complete the next and get all the dog tags.

Some people just have way too much time to waste! lol

Just think how i felt? it was 1'ish when i found them!

I was trying to figure that out, too. I looked at it sideways and all and still really couldn't tell. All I can see is a hooded figure no matter which way I turn it. :P Still creepy though.
