....0wnz j00!!!
To elaborate:
<- joined the ranks of GameCube owners this afternoon.
I've been playing MP for a couple of hours now. Brilliant, in a word. The control is perfect - easy to pick up, and never impedes gameplay. The worlds are impeccably rendered - abandoned alien civilizations never looked so real. Music and sound are excellent as well. They fall into the same category as the controls - they never draw your attention from the game.
As for the machine itself...I can't believe how tiny everything is! The console fits neatly in one hand, the discs...they are probably easy to lose!
I think they may have had younger players in mind when it was designed.
Access time is minimal. The initial load takes a few seconds, and I never once noticed loading during gameplay. I have to give it up to Nintendo - they are the masters of creating a seamless game experience.
I also can't believe how much better the machine is than the PS2. Higher resolution, faster and more stable framerates, more detail....everything! I know Xbox is supposed to be the best of the group, but quite honestly I've never seen anything on the Xbox that impressed me as much as the GameCube (Resident Evil comes to mind).
