MGS HD Vita collection playable on PS3?

i thought it was ps3 version of mgs hd collection. I downloaded it asap. Stopped to download at 51 percent. Can i play this on my ps3? or Just vita?

There's a thread you could've asked this question in on the first page of this forum, but I'm pretty sure you can't play the Vita version on PS3, you'd be missing Peace Walker anyway.

Yes, cross-play is available. (N.P You need HD Collection on BOTH PSV and PS3 for this to work) On the main menu of MGS2 and MGS3, theres a tab called "Transfarring", just above the "Quit" button. Go on it and follow the on-screen instructions, it will transfer your save to your PS3/PSV and allow you to continue your game where you last left off. If your really interested and happen to own Peace Walker on PSP as well, the same process applies to Transfarring your save.

I think what he meant was if he could play the downloaded Vita version on his PS3, but I'm sure you can't... Can you?

There doesn't have to be a PS3 version on the store, not all portable games have a PS3 equivalent. I'm sticking with no, it won't work, but I suggest going to the PSN store page for it and see what it says. It probably says 'Vita only'. The aforementioned Transfarring is a MGS HD-specific system to copy saves from one version to the other and nothing to do with being able to use one version of the software on both devices. Look at other games with cross play like Motorstorm RC and Wipeout HD (the latter being a DLC add-on for the Vita exclusive Wipeout 2048) and you'll see that they have a PS3 version and a Vita version. I could still be wrong but I'm sure I'm not.

You will need two copies of the game. If you can afford only one or see the need for only one PS3 has extra content. Peace walker does not come as standard on Vita.
