No surprise other than the timing. This really makes Williams and Toyota look smart!

 Very true, maybe this could be the reasoning for 1 or 2 more teams to jump ship before the start of the season..

Yes, Williams and Toyota will be able to getto grips (in both senses) with Brigestone's tyres before all the other teams jump ship. This will give them a huge advantage. However i think that William's winning days are over, for now at least...

I aexpected that to happen. I was surprised Michelin didn´t opt out earlier, since they knew this was bound to happen. I think the idea of a single tyresupplier is completely in the opposite direction of what F1 should be. What FIA should´ve done is opened the door to more suppliers instead. The tyremanufacturers should only be allowed to supply two or maybe three teams. That should put a new level to F1. Why can´t FIA try something new? They have already tried using one supplier, and that didn´t exactly work great. If there is no competition, the supplier won´t have to develop the tyre any more, and so the quality of the tyres will slowly degrade, as the cars develop further. Bad idea, FIA!

I wonder what it would be like to see Goodyear, Michelin, Yokohama, and Bridestone all in competition. That would be pretty cool.
