Microsoft's "iPod Killer" - Zune Discussion

Not a big deal IMO. During the installation of iTunes 6 and below it showed a pair of people hugging. To me, it doesn't really matter, although I prefer an abstract background.

Yeah, I'm probably thinking too much into it. I still don't like it.

Is the orgasming error girl cheezy too?

*snip*

I saw this circulating in Fark a few days ago. I saw a comment along the lines of "someone tried to plug the Zune into the wrong port."

Amazon sent out random coupon codes to certain people to buy the Zune for only 90 bucks. That's pretty cool.

Again I have to say I just think Microsoft does this to control another market. Over the years I have developped a critical attitude towards Microsoft, mostly because of everything that happened with me and my Microsoft experience. Also, to my eyes, I've seen Microsoft trying to take over the gaming console market by launching a console, and now trying to compete with their all-time rivals, Apple, but once again to control this market with the release of the Zune.

Not only does the Zune isn't original, it is also a big dissapointment to see how low Microsoft can go to try to steal and exploit users. Don't get me wrong, I love the big screen on it, the white on black (white text on black) which is easier to the eyes, but it is a total rip-off of the iPod/iTune combo. Not only did they made a portable multimedia device like the iPod, they even ripped off Apple's idea with iTune, being the software that can control the medias of your iPod, being a PC mp3 player and an online media shopping software.

So I think Microsoft once again shown their will for the domination of the world of technologies, and a will to exploit users from another market by providing a product mostly being a rip-off from one of their competitors.

What's next ?? Microsoft will make an high definition DVD format to compete with the Blu-Ray and HD-DVD ?? They will make widescreen tv's ??

By not backing Micro$oft I'm not in favor of devices like the iPod. I do have one but it's a Video player to me that's it. Even without the competition the Zune manages to shoot itself in the foot repeatedly. WiFi is pointless and there's so much DRM that buying music from them would be pointless. There are so many other reasons but I'll just leave you with the idea of going to your local store to see how many are still on the shelf.

I seriously don't know why Micro$oft even bothers.
