The Kart track also looks cool, I wonder if it's suitable for GT500? I'd like to include it since its a night track, but I don't want to be unfair to people who don't buy the pack...

My guess is that only the room host has to buy the track to set it as the room's track. Players who have not purchased the track might just be unable to select it, but still able to play with rooms already set to that track.

Wishful thinking is good. :)

Soopa I am not comfortable with the NSX at the moment, may I know what your setup is like?
Im way of the pace at a high 1.54 time on suzuka and without confidence.

I did some testing yesterday with the Calsonic and im running 1 55's

looks like i have a lot of work to do

upgrading to 2.0 , 57 minutes to go

lms you can just buy the track pack instead of buying the total package , as a f1 fan im sure you will want to drive on spa

My best is a high 1:55 so I doubt my setup will help you at the moment, I need to make some serious changes to it, I don't know why but this car feels different to the Takata and I know I was about 1 second quicker this time last season, if only I had written down my setups last season :(

gprili has obviously found a car he is even quicker in than the GT-R, god help us all :)

Anyone got any tuning tips ? My best laps are mid 1:57's :yuck:.
Also are these things usually so hard on the tyres? I rarely drive Super GT's so I'm not really sure what to expect.

So, I get the slowest car in GT500 and we are now reducing slip stream to weak. I always thought the slipstream was ridiculous but thought at least it would be a useful advantage to me this season being that I am driving a dog. Yet another strike against the SC430. It is a good thing we can limit the slip stream but the timing sucks for me.

Then in season 2 we get Trial Mountain, which I love, and we dump it for Spa? How about dumping Le Sarthe for Spa? I love Spa and think it should be added but with weak slipstream and never ending straights at Sarthe, I fear I have no chance in hell to finish well at Sarthe. It was already looking like a rough one to compete in and then throw in the weak slipstream and it will likely be a joke trying to keep up. It is a double whammy going to the slow SC430 while losing the slip stream boost.

If I remember from an old F1 game, Spa is pretty fast paced so replacing Trial mountain with spa is another strike against the SC430. A fast paced track should be dropped for Spa, not a slower and more technical track like Trial Mountain. Another strike against the SC430.

I feel the bar has been raised, after the fact, to my detriment in these two ways which adds to the handicap I am already faced with and accepted when I chose the SC430 over the Supra. Now I am regretting the decision. I am not saying the changes are intentionally attempting to limit the SC430 more (as if that is needed) but that is exactly what the changes will do. Perhaps I can overcome the additional handicaps and this will be a mute point but I am not happy about it nonetheless.

I am already giving up about 10pp from the GT-R and the tire wear on the SC430 isn't nearly as good as the GT-R. My fastest lap times at Suzuka so far are in the 1:55s which is way off the 1:54s people are or will be running and that would be ok if the tires would last, but they haven't so far with the current tune. Anything I do to increase tire life puts me in the high 1:55s or low 1:56s. Not exactly competitive times for a two stop run that my tire wear is currently dictating. I surely hope I improve a lot.

The changes most definitely add another handicap to an already handicapped car while giving the NSX an increased speed advantage by dumping the slipstream. Spa will also be easier to run for the NSX than Trial Mountain. Trial Mountain has limited straight sections so it negates the speed advantage of the NSX while being more technical which challenges the handling of the NSX more. I see the balance of the GT-R being unaffected by the change but they will be further hindered on tracks like Sarthe and Monza, as compared to the NSX. To me that just balances those two a bit more. You can't say that about the SC430. It loses on both counts.

I can see from the posts that a lot of guys liked dropping Trail Mountain for Spa. Seems like it is a done deal. Too bad for me I guess. I have no idea how I am going to perform in the SC430 over the season but I can tell you that the changes will definitely make it even harder so I am obviously against them as they stand. Perhaps I am making more out of it than I should? I hope so! Either way, I didn't need the added challenge, IMO.

After the disappointment with the limited DLC track offering, this is yet another disappointment. I like Spa but could care less about Go Karts. After a year of GT5, you would think they could have offered a few more tracks, especially considering they have so many others already designed that they could have offered. At least they could have given us 2 GP courses. I think PD is a little too concerned about paint, suits, and pictures when most of us just want to race. The artsy fartsy stuff is fine as long as the it takes a back seat to the racing aspect of the game. I think it has caused limitations in the DLC track offering because they are too busy with the photo mode and race suits.

Only 2 TRACKS! One is a freakin' go kart track! Come on man!:ouch:

I have a couple tunes for the GT-R I will share if you are interested.:)

The best tuning tip I can offer is try out a few from gtplanet (search the tuning forum), I'm afraid my tuning knowledge is very limited.

Tyres I find I'm always wearing out quick and end up with a 2 stop strategy for most tracks, some of the really good drivers in the league can make their tyres last for a 1 stop while still putting in lap times as fast if not faster than mine

I would say no matter what happens in the race stick with it, I'm sure you'll have someone to battle with putting down those lap times, but even if you do find yourself at the back if you're consistent you are bound to catch up with someone who is pushing too hard and making mistakes ;)

Thanks for the replies, I'm awful at tuning. I'm finding the Degner Curves quite tricky although the times are improving. I'm using my own tune after using a tuning guide found on GTP, but I think there are a few huge mistakes in my tune so I'd love to have a look at some set ups Garage Father :)

I'll definitively stick at the series, it's just the way you lot were saying you needed to improve with times much quicker than mine sent a few alarm bells ringing. Also there is no way you are a beginner as you said in your op

I AM , lol

I think we should have Spa in the next season or as a bonus race in this season at the end , just to be fair incase someone doesnt purchase the track but im sure everyone will eventually purchase the dlc

I'm not sure if its because im a wheel user (onlye been using it about 2 months) but im about 1 sec faster with the ds3 , im running 1 56's consistently and 1 57's with bad tires , still havent made it into the low 1 55's or a 1 54 , a 1 53 would be insane

@Garagefather:

Sorry you feel that way dude, there was no intention to make life any harder for anyone, the idea to reverse championship order for car selection was more to quash any ideas people who'd finished at the bottom might have had about it being down to which car they had. As it turned out only half of us from last season signed up for season 2, which meant there were some decent cars left by the time we at the top got our turn to choose, now we have a lot of new faces in top finishing cars with no idea of the new drivers skill level so it was probably all for nothing!!

With regards to adding Spa in place of Trial Mountain, I know most people prefer real tracks over GT ones and since most suggested the replacement I just went with it, I certainly wouldn't have replaced la Sarthe though as its a classic and offers the chance to run a night cycle and weather too. I didn't consider what implications it had with respect to one car gaining an advantage over another on there.

The over the top slipstream effect has been something which I hated since GT5 came out, in general it just allowed people to be slower through the turns but then quickly catch up and overtake down any straight, last season this took away the straight line advantage the NSX had. I completely understand what you're saying and as much as I hate it I think it would be fair to leave slipstream as it was last season for the benefit of the SC430.

I'll definitively stick at the series, it's just the way you lot were saying you needed to improve with times much quicker than mine sent a few alarm bells ringing. Also there is no way you are a beginner as you said in your op

Well I need to improve by just under a second to get the times I had at Suzuka last season. I didn't say I was a beginner in the OP, I said I was "fairly average" and considering I meet just as many people who beat me as those that can't, I would say that is a fair comment ;)

Let me know if you get anywhere with the setup,it's really nervous under brakes and it feels loose in the rear.

And yes Gprili will be a marked man.

Also Soopa, like in the way the NSX is handicapped by 50kg over the field, why don't we raise the peak power of the SC430 to a higher level, say ~510hp to make it comeptitive?

Oh and expect a friend request from "PepsiMaxCrew".

well guys 1:53.9xx is only a fastest lap, not my race pace... ;)

Ah, I misread the first post.

It's an NSX, get used to that behaviour

I think the cars with extra weight also have extra torque...?

We could consider upping SC430's power, but if we really wanted to level the field I guess we should use PP, but then you get some varied strategies with regards to downforce/power/weight. The regulations I've used are as close to real life SuperGT regs as possible, when I first created the series I assumed the cars would all be pretty much the same at 500HP, just a few differences in weight, torque and handling characteristics!

Soopa you are far from average

Gprilli after seeing that Monza race you had , you are definetely FAST

1 53 is an amazing time , your driving a NSX right ?

I guess the only way to decide the pp/hp rule change or just having a small increase of hp for the sc430 would have to be decided by vote BUT we should not underestimate this cars potential , there must be someway to make it a winner

I think the key to the NSX is the braking and steering technique, you can't stomp on it as hard initially, kind of like driving a Porsche and you can't use too much steering angle, gotta be smooth.

But yeah getting used to it,hope I can be consistent with it like the Supra.

And I believe Gprili is rocking the Nismo Z.:)

I have the NISSAN NISMO Z, problem is that this car has to be well balanced if you dont want to lose your rear.

I have to say that with the fear to end up with a lexus I tried last sunday the petronas SC430 on suzuka and I made a 1:53.8xx fastest lap

Yeah I heard the TOM's one was quick, didn't someone else mention on here they'd been in a series where the Lexus had won, would be interesting to know what regs they ran!?

Soopa you are far from average

Thanks mate ;) ...Oh wait, you did mean above right?

How about we leave the slipstream on strong and maybe replace Indy with Spa and put Trial Mountain back in, do you think that sounds better Garagefather?

I doubt I will get the DLC but I think Spa has to be included for the rest of you.

Personally, I would leave Trial Mountain in as we didn't have it last season and drop Grand Valley Speedway. Just my opinion.

Might be best to have a vote so everyone accepts the decision.

Well I havent had a proper test session in this takata dome nsx... But remember these to be fairly tricky to keep tight?
For those concerned about speed you needent be, Im a very average pace, always try my best to be clean and fair though! :-) look forward to some battles.

The championship should be really cool! Any test sessions go up im in.

I'm a "glass is half empty kind of guy" trying to live the life of an optimist. I know there was no intention to make any new advantages or disadvantages but I just felt it worked out badly for me and had to complain a bit to get it off my chest. I don't want special treatment with pp or HP changes, I just didn't realize that the changes coming would add to my challenge.

I understand the dropping of Trial Mountain, I just love some of the originals like Deep forest and Trial Mountain and felt it was one of my better prospects for putting the SC430 on pole and podium.👍

The slipstream was ridiculous and you are right to weaken it. Timing just sucks for me.:)

As i said before Spa for Season 3 or bonus race and leave season 2 as it was originally planned .

just my opinion

So the Lexus can run fast times , cant wait to see how qualifying goes

kk20 mentioned that the Lexus had won a race or two within a series he ran.

The SC430 does seem to have a disadvantage compared to the other cars, so I would certainly consider being the fastest SC430 a win too, don't worry I have a plan to balance things out next season ;)

Its driver prefference.....In the WSGTC the Lexus has won a few races...

I agree with Garagefather that Trial Mountain isn't a fair trade for Spa, the tracks are not at all similar, I think Indy is a far better trade. They are similar with respect to average speed and it gives us longer to get the track and practise on it.

Soopa I wanna join again if poss ways my choices can't c em cos they dnt show up in red on the gtp app

I'll have to put you on reserve now I'm afraid mate as they're all taken, if last season is anything to go by there will be people that don't show, you'll be first on the list to join up if they don't ;)

Fair and considerate as usual.:)

Thank you Sir.👍

I am still up for a vote if it pleases the host and the league. If people think the change is unwarranted then they can say so. I think your decision is good.

I tuned my car offline when the server was still under maintenance yesterday, then took it out for practice with phil later that day when the server was up. The NSX feels totally different offline and online. The tail's much more playful and I had lift off oversteer with my current setup. I have not played around with the settings online yet, but there's a lot of work to be done. Best I managed yesterday was a 1:55.3 before I ragequit due to a third DC. :P

I just realized that my Bandai Direzza SC430 is an '06 while the other SC430s are '08s. I don't have an '08 Bandai Direzza lexus as the thread indicates I am to run. If someone has an '08 Bandai Direzza SC430 would you please give it to me.

You can't buy it in the new car dealership.
