My GameStop told me to check back the week before the release to find out about a midnight release. He said it was a big enough title that he thought they would. So I'll post something when I hear for sure.

Happy about it?
Seeing that it doesn't affect my wallet i frankly don't give a crap, just wondering if the hype is less for GT6 than before meaning that on previous GT releases demand was higher and they did open at midnight?

I actually stopped by Gamestop two days ago and talked to the manager (he was at the register). He said that he needed 100 pre-orders to justify a midnight, and then he still had to have upper levels tell him to.

I'm in the highest population dense area in WNC, and we have 3 Game Stops. While that lessens the odds of having one of them go over 100, I'm hoping they do! They didn't say precisely how many they had, but they said they have a lot. I hope it gets cleared to happen before the 6th!

I just found out that the Gamestop location where I was supposed to pick up my game had closed. It was still open when I placed the order five months ago.

I ordered mine online so I didn't lose any deposit fee. Gamestop gave me a $10 coupon for the trouble though.

I've made arrangements with the manager (he's a good friend of mine) of my local Gamestop to pick mine up at midnight. :sly: He lives across the street from the store so its not a problem for him to walk across the street at midnight and give me mine. (Its already paid for.)

Ironically enough, Playstation's best selling franchise doesn't usually receive a midnight launch. I don't think it has since 3 or 4. GT5 didn't in my area unless I wanted to go to Wal*Mart. I know, it's weird, the only franchise that's ever outsold GT on the Playstation is Grand Theft Auto. (With only San Andreas beating GT3 on the PS2 for top spot. GTAV has yet to surpass GT5 according to wikipedia. And GT6 is on the horizon to challenge GTAV and GT5.)

Just two more weeks.

Checked with my local Gamestop last night. There won't be a midnight party because pre-orders were very low. I'll swing by my store and pick up my game on the 6th. Then come home and put it in the PS3 and wait for all of the updates to complete. Then I'll enter my codes for the 25 extra cars. After that get my wheel set up and go race. I am really looking forward to the customization and the KW suspension system.

Yeah, just checked my Gamestop, got the same answer. They only had 10 pre-orders (it's a small shopping strip store). And they said that they already did a bunch of midnight releases for the Xbox and the PS4. Bummer.
