Midnight85's liveries

Man, think I'm going to run some of these exclusively for the rest of the game cycle. These are incredible, mate.
Thanks for the kind words! Always appreciated! Loads of my liveries are sport mode compatible so they work well in the dailies. Enjoy! 😃😃

Amazon Prime Lexus Team

Inspired by the Amazon Prime delivery vans seen everywhere around the UK at the moment (and probably everywhere else too), this is the Prime RC F trio set up to take on the FIA manufacturers championship with a GTWC / GT4 European Series theme.

Amazon Prime Lexus RC F GT4

Amazon Prime teams up with Lexus to enter the GT4 European Series with the Lexus RC F GT4. A simple livery drawing from the commonly seen Prime delivery vans, using the same colour scheme, with Michelin tyre decals to make the livery more appropriate for FIA competition. The base colour is pearlescent and the decals are all semi-gloss to provide textural contrast on the surfaces and make the sponsor decals stand out more.

Amazon Prime Lexus RC F GT3

The Amazon Prime Lexus team includes two GT3 cars, one using the 2016 Prototype platform, one using the 2017 platform. Both of these are entered into the 2021 Fanatec GT World Series, albeit running Michelin tyres (convenient for the FIA series...) and keep the same graphic layout and colour scheme as the GT4 car, with subtle detail changes between the two cars appropriate to the subtle differences in their bodywork. Both cars are riding on Work alloys finished in half matte black. The sponsor choices give a blend of Japanese manufacturers with European manufacturers, reflecting the nature of the Japanese car entry into a European series dominated by European cars. Borla and Garrett provide the exhaust and turbo systems for the best power and sound combination available. Both cars run the same numbers as the original base cars from Emil Frey Racing (#54 on the Prototype, #58 on the '17 car) in the original positions, so are fully Sport Mode compatible.

Gulf Ford GT LM Spec II

An addition to the Gulf Speed Team, in the form of the Ford GT LM Spec II, dressed in the same livery as the Aston Martin I did a couple of weeks ago, ready for high speed circuits like Monza. The livery uses the same colour gradient style as the rest of the team, and the same general sponsors (Tag Heuer, Castrol Edge, Fanatec, Pagid and Bilstein), but also carries some more appropriate American and Ford sponsors (American Racing Wheels, Goodyear Tires, Ford EcorBoost).

This one isn't fully Sport Mode friendly, but still looks rather sexy on track even with the overlap on the race number/EcoBoost text.

Gulf McLaren F1 GTR

Completing the collection for the Gulf Speed Team is the iconic McLaren F1, in GTR format for GT3 racing. Wearing the colour gradient livery common among the Gulf Speed Team cars, the McLaren pulls in sponsors from the current F1 team (Arrow, Splunk), mixed with sponsors from the original McLaren F1 program (Michelin) and from the other cars in the trio (Tag Heuer, Castrol Edge, Fanatec, Pagid, Bilstein).

Unlike the other liveries, this one is fully Sport Mode friendly, so it's perfect for daily races at flat out circuits like Monza, Tokyo and SSRX.

Z4Events RADBUL Roadster Touring Car

A while back we had a wildcard race in the Roadster Touring Car, and I decided to adorn mine with the RADBUL livery of Mad Mike, modified to suit our race league and personalised with my gamertag, common brands, etc. I ended up missing the race, but decided to finish the livery and share it anyway, as it's one of my favourite liveries I've worked on. I love the way the red chrome pops from behind the glossy decals, and the overall livery layout just works so well on the MX-5 body shape.

Mazda RT24-P Roadster Touring Car

Mazda BTCC Roadster Touring Car

My take on the classic "rolly polly Mazda", the Xedos driven by Matt Neal in the 1993 BTCC, widely considered to be the ugliest car to ever race in the British racing series, and one which suffered a spectacular crash (pic at the bottom of this post).

This livery takes the basic elements of the original and puts a modern spin on them where possible, bringing it in line with today's competition while having a retro-throwback feel about it. Kwik Fit decals, Goodyear tyres have replaced the Yokohama's the original wore, and OZ Racing wheels were the closest match to the original 100+ Alloys it had. All sponsor decals are current versions, aside from Team Dynamics which is actually now non-existent - but included as a nod to the sponsor of the original car.

BF Goodrich MINI Clubman VGT

I've always had a soft spot for MINI, and their VGT is one of my favourite VGT cars to drive - it drives like a real car on steroids, not like a spaceship like the SRT and Chaparral for example. That classic MINI shape, modernised features, and hardcore road/race elements make this thing a must-have in my garage, and I'm happy PD decided to make it good to drive!

For this livery, I came across a concept render by Hugo Silva (who also provided the inspiration for the Hipermax Evo Gr.3), which used the original MINI, but the VGT wears it so much better than the original '65 car. A simple contrast of matte black base and glossy luminous yellow decals, with Monte Carlo Rally decals as a nostalgic point of interest. It's a shame the wheels couldn't be changed to some OZ Racing ones, but overall this livery makes a bold statement and stands out on track!

Mazda RT24-P LM55 VGT Gr.1

After making the Roadster TC derived from the RT24-P and a concept by @artsbybildraw, it made perfect sense to do the LM55 VGT in the same style, taking the livery that little bit closer to the original IMSA prototype livery. Wearing all the same sponsors as the original car, with race numbers set up to give the impression of a VGT class in IMSA - and Sport Mode ready. This car simply could not run any other number than 55, could it? And Soul Red just looks so good covering the curvaceous body panels of the LM55!

Another rally car recreation of a classic F1 livery, this time the Leyton House livery. Texaco Mustang Gr.B Rallycross Car

Based on the Texaco Focus Gr.B Rallycross Car I did a while back, here's the big bad brother, the Mustang. I had to move a few elements around to make them work on the very different body shape, but its mostly true to my original retro-revamp of the 1987 Texaco Sierra Cosworth driven by James Hardie, re-imagined for a BTCC Rallycross spin-off series.

Zakspeed Jever Porsche 911 GT3 RS

A modernised street car replica of the 1998 Porsche 911 GT1 (98-004) used by Zakspeed in the 1998 FIA GT Championship, piloted by Michael Bartels and Armin Hahne. The championship regulations were unkind to the 911 GT1 and they returned the car at the end of the season, with 3td being their best finish.

I've kept the livery as close to the original as possible, while using the updated logos for each of the sponsors, and making my own interpretation of the rear end (as the 911 GT1 is so different at the tail). It's also annoying we can't paint the centres of the BBS LM wheels separately, because the original has gold centres but they looked wrong all gold.

Dyson Audi R8 LMS

Originally inspired by a concept by 811 Design (the pink PRO car) but then expanded to include a green PRO-AM and a blue AM entry to the Fanatec GTWS.

Built using semi-gloss decals over aluminum metallic base paint layers. The tiger stripes were a particularly tricky part of the livery, getting them all to line up the way I wanted to and looking good where they didn't line up.

All three are daily race ready and look classy on the race track!

Falken Tire WRX Time Attack

A spin-off of my previous Falken WRX Gr.3 - an adaptation of an 811 Design concept - this time sculpted onto the body of the WRX STI Isle of Man Time Attack Car. Where the Gr.3 car was intended to be an hardcore race car in the IMSA series, this was envisaged as a competitor in a fictitious IMSA Time Attack spin-off series, where the teams use a street car stripped back for time attack competition with much looser rules on power and handling components and specs. The livery comprises a colour fade gradient in Falken colours, an abstract pattern overlay, IMSA sponsors scattered around the place, and Subaru-regulars Whiteline and Cusco. The colour scheme works well with the pops of red which match the red in the Falken decals, and sat alongside the Gr.3 car these make a formidable pair.

A friend asked me to make a pair of liveries for this car, so I made a #22 and #53 which they used in an online lobby race. I decided to make a more generic public version, and the #228 seemed a fitting way to give a nod to the legendary 22B street car.
