Yeah, that's terrible. I would think that they would win more games by just outscoring opponents, with the lineup they have. But even their bats have failed them this year. I'm not complaining though, I've hated the Yankees for years. Or any team that tries to buy championships.

It's usually love 'em or hate 'em with the Yankees, ain't it? Teams I've liked in the past has been the Cards, Braves and now the Mariners, so it's "hate" the Yanks with me, too.

There is no other CF/RF combo that would have gotten to that ball. They both have otherworldly range. It's a shame that Cameron is playing RF, really. His defensive prowess is being wasted there.
I'd say that their range is so good that they could get away with playing 2 OF at times. OK, that's a lie, but you get the idea.
Who else is voting Mariano Rivera for MVP (forget Cy Young!)? Without him, the Yankees would obviously be 10+ games behind the Red Sox. Take tonight for example, he comes in with the bases loaded in the 9th, up by one run after Tom Gordon absolutely sucked and just shuts the door on an excellent hitter (Dave Dellucci). It's just game over when he steps on the mound. You have zero chance of getting a run off of him.
Mariano Rivera is a great closer, no doubt, but I'm not sold on a guy unless he can come through in real pressure situations. Sure, bases loaded, 9th inning, up by one, ok, but it's the regular season. What was he doing last year in the playoffs? Making best friends with the Red Sox?
