What are some unrealised inventions that would make its inventor a millionaire overnight? Patents that would be used in mass markets and get huge demand.
After brainstorming I arrived at some that follow:
-Cigarette smoke compressor-preserver
Why: No more waste of smoke in the air. The smoker blows inside the device as well so you have 0% air pollution. Smoker does not have guilt and can smoke anywhere. The ashes can be thrown away or better be recycled into new cigarretes.
-Self-driving car
Why: All but rooky drivers detest city driving. The time commuting can be spend instead watching a movie, surfing the web, reading, or just relaxing listening to music and watching outside. The army has made some progress, but the first company to offer a fail-proof such car is in for the cash.
-Life chamber & parachute for safe plane travel
Why: Although plane falls are extremely rare, when they happen are usually deadly. The life chamber would be the unfolding chair around your body in case of danger, forming a life chamber, descending below the plane and eventually unfoling the parachute to land safely on land. It may seem like an unlikely technology right now but once achieved people will wonder how in the past we risked our life like we do.
-GPS parking detector and demand recorder
Why: Instead of searching endlessly, fingers crossed, for the rare minute opening, your GPS mounted screen could inform you of free areas. Not only this, but there could be a demand recorder as well. Meaning you see how many other drivers know the spot and are interested in it, and push the demand button if you consider parking there. Of course the first one to call for it is not gonna take it - the first to arrive is! 
-Drilling square holes
Oh wait that already exists.
That's all I could think of now. What other can you think of? The restrictions I impose to give guidance is:
a) They can be made with current technology
b) Cost is not a restriction

Even if you could remove part of the pollution, it would be safe to assume that only a certain percentage of people who smoke would ever buy it. That removes pretty much all of the hypothetical advantage since it would only take one smoker to pollute an area.
