"The 1970 Chevelle SS is also slightly wrong in the game. Keeping in mind this is the 454 LS6 version of the car, it should say "SS" and write underneathe it, it has in red letters "454", right on the side of the front fenders. In the game it just says "SS" on the sides."

Your right on the money about the 454 not being on the side of the front fenders in the game.

The most obvious is that the hood and trunk stripes were a Z28-only item. The SS package included stripes on the side of the car.

This is not entirely true. The '69 Camaro RS/SS396 was available with either hockey stripes or hood and trunk stripes.

It also depends on exactly whose car they are modelling. Some cars may be missing bits and pieces that an authentic should have.

I think this may be the important point for bits of missing/re-painted trim.

As for Japanese cars... how sure are we that they're all correct? There were gross errors in running gear in GT3 (like the Zonda being rev-limited to 150mph (at least on my copy (hey, triple parentheses!)) and one of the road cars getting seven gears), and it would be nice to find out WHAT besides the Lightning's magic AWD they got wrong.

Weren't there any 69 Camaro RS SS Z28 ? Or were there only some RS, SS, and RS + SS ?

The '69 came in Z28, SS, RS, SS/RS and Z28/RS trim . I know because I owned a RS/SS 396 Camaro in 1969.

Z28 had a special racing 302 engine and racing package
SS was all the fast stuff except the 302
RS was all the bling like covered headlights etc.
RS/SS - Z28/RS as you expect had all of the above.

BTW my 396 cost me $3800 brand new...

About the complaints. Seems they only made these mistakes on american cars? Hey what do you expect KY doesn't "do" muscle cars I guess. It seems all the Japanese cars were perfect.

Wrong, dead wrong. I find mistakes all the time with Japanese. cars. Take the '83 300zx turbo, for example. In real life the two tone paint was only available on 50th Aniversary Edition (AE) cars. The in-game version is not a 50th AE. Also all turbo models came with a deck lid spoiler and a front chin spoiler that are both absent in the game. All turbo models also came with 5 lug, 16" wheels, wheras the in game cars come with the the 4 lug, 15" wheels from the non turbo cars. So essintially what PD did was take a base, non turbo body, installed a turbo engine and hood scoop, and give the 50th AE paint jobs as an option. NOT CORRECT.

Not only that, but only two cars in NHRA Stock car Class history have beaten 10 secs (or was it 9 secs?)

If they spent such a long time measuring and testing cars on dynos then how is that most EVOs and WRXs in GT3 and GT4 manage to have precisely 280PS?

Please not that you are referring to their advertised power. Japan does not advertise any production car past 280PS. When you take then to the garage, they usually have more. My Evo VIII MR GSR has 343 PS after the oil change, I think 327 PS before....

Older USA cars from the 50's or 60's Plymouth, I think. Maybe a different maker, would set a maximum advertised HP based on the weight of the car. They often had engines that would far exceed their advertised power, but stuck to a specific power to weight advertiment as maximum....

S4A, I may be wrong, but I’m reasonable certain that the 2000 Z28 and SS only came with a T-Top (except the convertibles of course) which would make the whole front top black. To my knowledge, that year, the regular Camaro came standard with a solid top, but optional T-Top.

Proud owner of a 2000 Z28….

I wonder how many people don’t know why the Z28 got it’s name? Well, Chevy had to come up with a 5 liter engine for racing rules, ‘67 being the first year. The SS in ’67 was using the RPO Z27 engine, and the new engine was RPO Z28. That is why SS and Z28 do not exist together… Somebody in the right place like the sound of “Z28” hence it’s name. During that timeframe, all SS’ were big blocks, and all Z28’s were 302’s…

I am sure that you are correct about the U.S. spec car, but keep in mind that the ones in the game are the Japanese spec cars that in some cases are simply renamed as the U.S. versions. The cars might be correct for Japanese spec.

One good example is the 3000GT, in the game the SL version (non-turbo) is AWD, but in the U.S. only the VR-4s were AWD, all others were FF.
