Thanks. I'm just glad i managed to back up my save before the ps3 completely died. would have sucked to redo the story yet again just so i can get the chapter 9 speed run unlocked and collect the bags remaining.

Mirror's Edge Third-Person View Mod

It seems pretty clear they never designed the graphics of Faith, other than her hands with the knowledge anyone was going to see Faith in 3rd person view. :)

Thats actually not that bad, if it had some work to avoid the clipping through objects and add some character animations for things like wallrunning it could be a great official free patch for the console versions.

Robin.

Shacknews
Update: Electronic Arts has confirmed the delay with Shacknews, writing that developer DICE deemed it necessary in order to provide "a completely smooth experience."

The $10 Pure Time Trial Map Pack is now expected to hit PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in February, with the free PS3-exclusive "Synethesia" map still coming tomorrow.

Still, we should have the exclusive PS3 level today.

And that 3rd person mod... yikes. The rolls are not right at all for Parkour movements. Just looks beyond awkward. I much prefer the First Person view.

Yeah that 3ed person mod disspaoints me. I mean, really? Did they do anything for the rest of the body? Rolls are sapposed to have 2 major contact points, one shoulder blade, oppossite upper hip, sideways, thats like a summersault... lmao

The running on stuff, hurts to watch

I like 1st person... haha

The free exclusive map...it's good but it's very easy to get lost, and it's quite small as well. It's still good though, hopefully there will be longer maps in the Pure pack.

Synethesia was very short, I felt. If the other eight DLC levels are this size, without different routes for different time trials, I may refrain from getting it. Once you have a good idea on Synethesia, it is pretty straight forward with a fairly linear setup. The only really different routes arise at the start of the map.

Though, I must say, these abstract levels are still very pretty to look at.

Sorry for the massive thread bump, but is anyone hoping for a sequel on this game? I found some articles that hinted on production for a 2nd one (here). This was good, as the game was far too short to tell enough to the player, and I would love to see the visual art be resurrected.

I liked the concept of this game but unfortunately like a lot of first person games it gives me nausea after a short while.

Currently, there's a bit of a 'spiritual successor' in the upcoming Remember Me.

Really enjoyed this game. EA knows where the money is at & keeps DICE on BF detail. Honestly, I think we'll get BF5 before we get another Mirror's Edge. In a way I'm kind of glad that Mirror's Edge 2 is stuck in limbo, EA will probably turn it into a full-on shooter or find some other way to ruin it hahaha!

With any luck, if the rumours are true and DICE is developing the sequel, EA will let them make a sequel and not a 'reimagination' of the first game. These days that means: take something and make it more appealing to contemporary gamers.

Syndicate remake: first person shooter.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution: There are a few mandatory kills (you didn't HAVE to kill anyone in the first game).
Tomb Raider: sounds simplified compared to the first game (which I found too hard to enjoy so I don't really mind that one too much).

The list goes on, but I can see them turning Faith into an assassin instead of a courier or something like that. With DLC and microtransactions all over the place, naturally. And hexagons, nothing says 'look how sci-fi this game is!' like hexagons.

BF3 uses a lot of the same interior visuals during the Paris mission when the Russian team chases and fights through an office block. Not much, I know but it was quite nostaligic for me doing that bit.

For the reasons above, I'm not exactly eager to see a sequel to Mirror's Edge, even though it reigns in the top of my favourites games of this generation. Well, I used to be very eager about it, until DICE mentioned ''reaching a broader audience'' with Mirror's Edge 2 in an interview. That alone made me sceptical and has raised some concerns regarding a sequel, especially with EA's renewed anti-consumer approach and rethoric, as well as the mandatory DLC milking in mind.

Yeah, no thanks.
