Hmm, thats unfortunate I also have Comcast, but I never had issues on my end, a handful of times i have dropped connection, but never had a constant lag. And if I do have the slightest bit of lag I'm quitting first inning no shame.

Anyways lets play again Villian, Spiker I would offer to play you too but I usually try and avoid playing people with awful internet. :sly: No for real is it really that bad, I can play through lag. :D

I wish there were more then 3 of us interested in this game then we could have a league or something.

It's not horrible but it's not great either. I'll say it's not like playing offline.

Anyways, I am in a league if you guys are interested. It's a 24 person league with 20 spots filled right now (I think). A good portion of those 20 guys are active too. If you've got time to play 3 games a week and don't mind posting at another forum, I can put in a good word for you. That goes for you too, Villian.

I can probably manage 3 games a week. What are the league settings for gameplay?

Guess Pitch, Difficulty, etc...

Here you go

Batting Difficulty - Veteran
Pitching Difficulty - All Star
Guess Pitch - OFF
Hot Zones - OFF
Strike Zone - OFF
Balks - ON
Injuries - ON
Balls n Strikes - VARIABLE
Ejections - ON
HR Camera - OFF
Camera - RT w/Replay

Gameplay Sliders are up next.

7 - Contact - Improve/Decreases ability to check swing and make contact. So for those players who use Analog, the PCI will be in either more favourable or less favourable spots as it's auto calculated.
3 - Power - Increase/Decrease home runs, sac flies and extra base hits.
7 - Timing - Increase/Decrease window for making perfect timing. Increase/Decrease whiffs and fouls.
5 - Foul Frequency - Increase/Decrease probability of borderline contact landing fair or foul.
5 - Solid Hits - Increase/Decrease probability of line drives vs popups/choppers.
5 - Starter Stamina - Increase/Decrease starting pitcher stamina.
1 - Reliever Stamina - Increase/Decrease reliever pitcher stamina.
5 - Pitcher Control - Increase/Decrease pitcher accuracy.
5 - Pitcher Consistency - Increase/Decrease wild pitches/HBP's/passed balls.
4 - Pitch Speed - Increase/Decrease time it takes for pitch to get to the plate.
5 - Fielding Errors - Increase/Decrease rate of fielding errors.
5 - Throwing Errors - Increase/Decrease rate of throwing errors.
5 - Fielder Run Speed - Increase/Decrease fielder run speed.
5 - Fielder Reaction - Increase/Decrease how fast fielders react to contact.
5 - Fielder Arm Strength - Increase/Decrease throwing speed of fielders.
5 - Baserunner Speed - Increase/Decrease baserunner speed.
5 - Baserunner Steal Ability - Increase/Decrease success rate of stealing.
5 - Baserunner Steal Frequency - Increase/Decrease the ability to steal repeatedly.
5 - Wind - Increase/Decrease the wind currents.
5 - Injury Frequency - Increase/Decrease injuries.

All sliders are 5 out of 10 by default.

Cool. Sorry about the late response but I guess it doesn't matter too much since PSN has been down since Thursday. :ouch: I just checked in to the league site and it looks like there's 5 spots available right now.

Just so you guys know, we're 1-2 series deep into the league right now. So you won't be 100% fresh but there's 48 games in the season, so you'll have more than enough of time to make your own mark.

I'll let the Commish know I've got two more coming. If he gives me the okay, I'll give you guys the forum and a link to the Shownation League site.

Just in case I don't get a chance to post these later, here's the open teams and their records:

Oakland 6-2
Seattle 1-5
Chicago (NL) 0-3
St Louis 3-3
San Francisco 3-2

Huge patch, looks like they tweaked the analog hitting: http://forums.theshowcommunity.com/showthread.php?p=58018#post58018

Yeah, I saw that last week. Pretty good patch, if you ask me.

If they had a pay-to-play service that provided dedicated server service to online leagues, I wouldn't hesitate to put up $20/yr for that service. It'd be well worth it, IMO.

Also, don't know if you've been lurking at the league's forum Hoodfield, but it looks like they're considering a restart because of the PSN downtime. You interested in a fresh start?

Yes I will probably give analog another chance seeing as they now admit it was broken from the start.

Pay for play, yes I would have no problem spending money for good service either, that goes for the entire PSN network not just the Show.

Spiker I've been checking everyday, restart would be great for me obviously, thanks again for referral, looking forward to the season whether we restart it or not.

That patch looks great. It's too bad that they still have some outdated stuff - The Dodgers' coaching staff is still headed by Joe Torre even though they announced in October that Donnie B would take over. I feel like they should pay closer attention to details like that. Same goes for player names and pictures. I hope that MLB 12 has things like that better attended to now that they'll have a year of analog features under their belt.

If that league is still looking for available players I might be able to join in. The semester is past the halfway mark and the last major project of mine will be completed tomorrow. I should have a little more free time, especially in the middle of the day between school and work. 👍

The one thing I can't figure out with that patch first bullet: Users can now share saved data files.

Why did they add this? Under what circumstance would this be useful? Do you like make a franchise or RTTS and pass it to another person? Just curious if maybe you guys knew.

Yeah, it's looking like a restart too so you'd be starting fresh.

Some people split duties on a RTTS or franchise. I have friends that are playing a franchise where they alternate who plays.

Now that PSN is back I actually hopped on MLB: The Show. I don't have very much HDD space (thanks alot GT5 and Burnout! :P) so I didn't want to start a franchise or RTTS career. Anyways, it sure felt good to be back. 4-0 for the day and I only gave up one run. Two games ended after I took early leads, one ended in the 7th, and the last one finally went the distance. I got to beat the Angels with my Dodgers, 4-1.

Also, my thumb hurts thanks to that analog hitting!

Initially, no. On Monday in all of those games I think the most runs I managed to score in any one game was 4. One game I won 2-0 with only one earned run. I was even using Colorado and that team has a fairly strong offense.

Today was another story. I played against someone Phillies/Dodgers and I led off the game with a home run by Jamey Carroll down in the count 0-2. I ended up winning 12-1 (I'm positive I could've scored more, I started to strikeout intentially to avoid being late for work ) with addition home runs from Ethier, Barajas, Uribe, and Tony Gwynn Jr. The home runs from Gwynn and Carroll came off of Roy Halladay and they were absolute, flip-the-bat bombs. I actually felt kinda bad for the other guy.

It could be just as easy that he was laying cookies for me to hit (the one by Carroll was a sinker that was right smack in the middle of the strike zone - late contact sent it to right-center), but still. For a Dodgers offense which hits like a t-ball squad in The Show - hitting five long balls is remarkable no matter how you slice it.

Thoughts on balks...

Initially I didn't like it, now I am realizing it makes for a better game. I have yet to go a game without doing it yet. I almost did with you Villian but once I'm on tilt I'm good for a balk or two.

So what you think? Initially you had the same WTF? reaction I had, but you can see how unforgiving just one quick pitch can be. I'm hoping to master this soon just have to take my finger off the button.

I like how they did it so it's not like a real life balk. It's 100% video game rules and really all it does it stop people from quick pitching.

I don't know if any of you guys saw my recap of that 17 inning game I had in the league. The guy I was playing balked in the game tying run in the 17th inning and then I hit a walk off single right after that. That must have been frustrating.

Ouch. Yeah balks hurt like a bitch. I felt bad for you in our game, HOODFIELD. Even though I gave up way more balks than you, the one you did end up giving me was absolutely brutal. I typed up a message to you on PSN on my way out but somehow it didn't send. Props to you for sticking it out. I probably would've thrown my controller through a window if I were you. That game must've been so frustrating to lose. I was just lucky to pitch my way out of so many jams (which I primarily had balked my way into :ouch:). Your first run was balked in, and then an inside-the-park solo shot for Aubrey Huff. My breakout inning kind've felt like a haymaker. One second I'm grinding singles and walks to load the bases, then a balk and a hit later I'm winning by a mile. Baseball is relentless like that.

Today I tried to get a league game in but Leftwich was a no-show. I ended up finding a decent player to play against through Play Now. He was winning 5-2 in the 9th and my two runs were scrappy ones. Barely any slugging to speak off. A solo shot by Inge and the other from stealing home. The last three were a 3-Run bomb that must've absolutely destroyed that other guys' spirits. It was off of Neftali Feliz, too. Poor bastard!

We ended up with a friendly quit after the end of the 13th, still tied 5-5 :D

Anyone still play? I picked this game up on a whim this weekend, I'll be home some time late Tuesday. I played 06 and was decent at it, but that was a while ago and I won't be very good :p

I'd like to try playing against some real people I kinda know (as far as one can know someone from a forum), and none of my Canadian friends like baseball enough to buy this game

I want to play the demo first. Why don't they release it before the game... Best Buy has a playable demo while PS Store has none? Or am I not seeing it?

I just found out that they're implementing a game mode just like Madden Ultimate Team! It looks awesome! Here is the trailer.

Yeah they did that on purpose. Best Buy paid for the exclusive rights.

So what's everyone's impression? I like the new Pulse Pitching quite a bit. It seems like the online connections are improved as well.

I'm loving the game so far. I went back to analog pitching because I'm not very accurate with pulse pitching. Diamond Dynasty is fun too.

The swing timing is incredible. I can't begin to count the amount of foul balls I've hit.
