Moby...Music

I don't know why I like this guy's music, but I just like about 90% of his songs...what are other people's opinions about his music? Love it, or hate it?

I have to be in a certain mood to listen to his music, his music is the sort of music I can fall asleep to.

Aside from that I find his music is often quite sad, I'm not one for sad music.

I don't remember any Moby music, but knowing your taste in music, he/she/they probably suck.

Shannon, you almost certainly know Moby's work, it's just that nobody has ever told you that it's him. His tracks get used for backing music a lot.

I've got his albums "Play" and "18", and they're very good. THey do have a sense of melancholy to them, which is interesting, but not always actually depressing.

And actually, it's only his more recent music that's been that way - he did the anthemic "Go" ages ago.

He's also something of a Bond fanatic, and remixed the Bond theme tune, with excellent results. Actually, film is a specialty of his, and I picked up his album "I Like to Score" - a collection of film tracks - recently. Little did I know he did two tracks in the movie "Heat". The first one is played as Pacino stops De Niro in his car, and invites him for coffee.

The second is the closing music.

I like him. He's good. He's a bit weird in interviews though.

Got a couple of his CDs here - Play and 18, I think. Giles nailed it - he's one of those artists that's very prolific and whose material turns up everywhere (remember all the Fatboy Slim tracks that turned up as ads - same sort of thing). I like his stuff - it's generally pretty laid back and good to have as background music.

Yeah, I listened to that as well...great. I also didn't know some of his songs were backing music like
-We are all made of stars
-Porcelain (That was the big one, I was so suprised when I heard the start and recognised it straight away)

I also think Fatboy Slim's songs are pretty good as well (Yet hardly anybody at my school has even heard of him )

Shannon, just because I don't like Audioslave doesn't mean my taste in music sucks.

Do people in the southern hemisphere live under large boulders where they are shut off from the rest of the world? Crazy!

Anyway, Moby is awesome. I've got Play but I should pick uop some of his other work.
