Here's a compromise I think we can make:

We will say that lobby settings are restricted to real assists, that way Spooky and flight test are happy.

After that, everyone who doesn't want to use traction control or abs can just turn it off on their settings, and no one will ever know.

Yes for people who want to use it!

where does it say this? It said abs and traction control on. where does it say optional? just asking.

one more time,

here is what stalliano said:

ABS and TCS will be on for all Tiers. GT Pro, will have TCS set to 1 if you can do that. Stability Control is off for all Tiers. Other then that. The rest will have to wait till Tuesday

Tier Qualifying, the only Aid on is ABS. Will not be Raining during Qualifying. Want their to be perfect Qualifying for everyone. (This was on the 10th, he changed it to TC and ABS on the 11th)

again, traction control on for all levels. You can change your TC level if you want but it must be on. This is how it is now atleast. it they change that is fine but as of now there are rules and these are them.

Lol I don't think you guys get it, we will still be able to turn tcs and abs off. Even if it is cheating, there is no way you will be able to prove it.

yea we got that. we have had that. its been talked about.

if you feel the need to cheat go for it.

I may repeat myself but as it is unclear let's just wait until stalliono is back.

Saying TCS/ABS are on can have 2 intentions:

- they are free to use
- they are mandatory

As he didn't specify any of the possibilities, we can only speculate what his intention is.

And I'm out of this discussion now until stalliono is back.

Sorry, but he did specify, he said ABS and TCS on for qualifying.

Fine Matt, if you want to cheat that's fine, there's nothing anyone can do about it. It's just a game so be as dishonest as you like.

then why does he say TC and ABS on for all levels including pro? you can set TC to 1 but needs to be on. where is the translation.

and again,

ABS and TCS will be on for all Tiers. GT Pro, will have TCS set to 1 if you can do that. Stability Control is off for all Tiers. Other then that.

this was what stalliano said!!!!!!!!!!!!!

does it say optional or not mandantory. No it says on for all levels. even pro. but you can change the TC level.

It seems that you will never agree with what I say, but please read my post at least. Saying they are on is exactly the problem we have now :D

Seems very simple, ON = used. Just as Stalliono said. ABS and TCS are on for qualifying.

Again as psychoazubi just said, on could either mean that we have to use it, or that real assists are set to on in the lobby settings. We can both choose to read it as we want.

As for cheating, I'm looking forward to every decent performance being met with accusations that the player turned tcs and abs off.

Like I said you can't prove it, and so we can either pretend that no one is going to use it and handicap all the people who do actually keep traction control turned on, or we acknowledge the fact that we have no control over it so we change the rules so that we are allowed to make our own choice.

Tier Qualifying Tier Placement Start Date is May 31st at 2pm est USA

Track: Silverstone GP
Car: Aston Martin V8 GT4
Tires: Race Slicks
Qualifying Session will be in a 30 Minute Practice Session

He also said Racing slicks tires, will you use hards, or will you use softs? :sly:

Who cares? my soup is cold.
It's not getting any warmer! I suggest that you consume it before it gets too cold, or, if possible, cover it in clingfilm, pierce the clingfilm several times with a fork (if a fork is not available a spork can provide the same function), and place the soup in a microwave. Heat for 3 minutes, take it out and stir for 30 seconds, then place the soup back in the microwave (covered once more by clingfilm, you can use the same clingfilm you used initially), and heat for another 3 minutes.

Besides there's nothing wrong with it, cold soup is considered by some people as a delicacy, much like monkey brains or cock-roaches.

I'm happy with the assists as they are :) if people want to run without TCS and ABS they can.

I find I'm faster with them on so I for one will most definitely have them turned on and doing their job!

I've bin practicing with abs and tc off. I feel more comfortable setting up the car better, but that's how I ran every racing game for some time now. Although I realy dont see how you can be slower with assist on as of off. Theirs a good reason why F1 ultimately had them off and I don't think it was to make them faster. I will end up using whatever settings Vatican committee agree on LOL. Just use them to a minimum and do some extra laps to adapt. Anyone ever wonder why giraffes have long necks.

I don't know because I've only tested according to the rules.

*edit* looks like we will need to post screenshots of assist setting we are using during qualifying. Nice one Matt.

Actually, I don't really care if we can't use traction control for qualifying, I'm slower without it so that will give me an advantage come race day. :)

Now I get it...

Brawling hell!

Wasn't there another hoohah before over the willingness to race a car with less assists than the real life counterparts? Given that context I'd have thought the admission of "TCS or ABS on" would've been a stipulation to use that exact setup. But then again I've seen goalposts moved more than once in this thread.

What's the deal with TCS anyway? I remember people in GT saying TC actually made you slower than a person with a nuanced throttle control who wasn't using it. If so then indeed it wouldnt be a level playing field.

If it is just a disadvantage, then it could be seen as some kind of unintentional sandbagging I suppose. You make tier 2 due to some wheelspin in quali, then get fed up of picking up minor points in the season down to lapses of throttle concentration. So turn TCS back on and hey presto your inherent tier 1 ability means you are 1.5 seconds down the road each time?

That's how I can see this assist disparity affecting the series.

Also, sp00ky, if you set the lobby to real soup temperature, you don't automatically have to have it hot. Cold is still a valid option. - its under gazpacho settings.

What has you quoting me got to do with soup or giraffes feet?

Actually my whole point today was if someone can find time to argue on the internet then surely they can find 30mins to qualify the same as everybody else.
