Modem troubles

My Motorola SB5100 keeps droping internet acces every few days and the overall net is somtimes just slow.
fixing it by restarting it works maybe only 1/2 the time.
Windows and PSN say's its a DNS issue but I know what it is .
The modem's near 12 years old is what i think it is

Jeezzzzeeee! That's an old modem!

Does PSN have an error ending in like 113? Or something like that? If so, attempt to update your routers firmware, or call your ISP and ask them to do it for you.

Unfortunately that's all I can offer advice wise.
