Btw, it's only 250 enemy devices. Remember MW2? 750...

But at least you Pro the perk at 50 instead of 120. I find a decent amount of Bouncing Bettys and Claymores, but yeah, this will add a lot of time to pro'ing the perk.

Hopefully they fixed the slide show lag issues...

Yup - although it's only 50 devices in MW3, not 250 (luckily) and it's really useful since I've got the Virtual Surround headset.
Since school's started I usually prestige every 2/3 weeks so I'll easily make it to 15th when the next school holidays start.

I find the Scavenger challenge a bit of a hassle. Because when you have full ammo, and cannot harvest grenades and stuff how must one scavenge?

And while typing it, the lightbulb above my head ignited.
First specialist perk as scavenger.

I'm sure Bowling said that you could pick up grenades as well. Someone (ie, Bowling) lied.

Robert also said Sitrep lets you hear people using Dead Silence. One of the many lies by our friend TrollZeroTwo.

Scavenger is my 3rd Specialist perk, because I need Slight of Hand and Assassin quick with how I play.

Usually I don't even use Scavenger, as it comes with specialist bonus. But for the challenge, I will put it at 1 when it is already pro.

I find myself needing ammo around that time, and would rather be able to pick up a bit before I get trapped using only my MP9. Of course, the MP7 + Rapid Fire + Silencer has an amazing way of eating up ammo in some situations.

L86 + grip + silencer FTW.

Too slow, bro. I'm that guy that is always every where killing your dudes. Kind of why I use the FAD as well.

Hipfire! And my teammates do die a lot.

But I have to say that I have to fire the first bullet with the Mp7 yet.

I used an LMG once - felt like I was running with weights on. Under water. With clown shoes.

The MP7 is just, well, yeah. Sometimes I can't aim with it at all though and that is when I get the Silenced FAD with Kick out and mop with that. Move around a bit less but still very mobile.

First five classes...

Sleight of hand, Quickdraw. On a sniperrifle. Quickscope much?

Nope. I'm terrible at it actually. I just set that class up when I can make my own each prestige. I haven't bothered putting extended mags on the MP9 even, so tells you how often I use it. Sleight is so I can use the MP9 on demand, and quickdraw is, well, mostly so I can ADS when I see something across the map a bit faster - hate sitting there ADS because I can't be as aware of the map situation.

I use the FAD a lot as well. It was the first gun I took with a prestige token. I figures you get it at level 78 and don't have time to really get to know it so that's why it went first overall. Not to mention the sick rate of fire and the better than smg range. I run extended mags when I have them unlocked and it's triple kill heaven.

I've been using the MP7 and FAD for a while now. I think they are both really good guns in their respective classes, with that FAD sort of bridging the gap between assault rifles and sub machine guns. I don't really see a whole lot of people using the FAD, most likely because of how late you unlock it. The MP7 though I have seen more people using it, and I prefer it over the PP90M1.

On the other hand, I was wondering if anyone else here has Elite and got their new maps today? I decided after much deliberation to use a gift card I had got over Christmas to buy elite. So far I've been very impressed with the maps. Liberation is very large and I think it would be a great map for ground war. Piazza is another wonderful map, and I like the close quarters it offers and many different levels with plenty off opportunities to flank people.

Beachhead studios announced today that the third Elite drop, Overwatch, will release on March 29th for PS3 premium members.

Earlier today, PS3 owners received the first two Elite drops, Piazza and Liberation, but the release date for the third Elite drop, Overwatch, was unknown, except for being confirmed to release in March. However, Beachhead Studios, via Call of Duty Elite Twitter account, revealed that Overwatch will release on Thursday, March 29th. Beachhead stated, “watch out for Overwatch, hitting PS3 ELITE Premium members March 29.”

Also in March, Xbox 360 premium Elite players will receive the next three drops, and non-Elite 360 users will be able to purchase the first content pack in the same month.

I got the new maps today. Unfortunately for me Japan doesn't have the Elite service or things like that yet so I can't get on with local players so I've been playing with low ping. Liberation is huge, but even then you still have enemies spawning right next to you. Piazza is a maze and you can run around like a rat for some time before you run into someone. Both good, though.

Do you think Liberation is a potential sniper map?

I've not played MW3 since the new year, my bad back has made it difficult to sit for any period of time. I have had a real yearning to begin playing it again recently. If the new maps offer something a bit different, it might just give me the impetus to start playing again 👍

I run MW3 on the 360 and with Elite I've been playing these maps for a while and am quite happy to say that yes Liberation is a definite sniper map (one of the only real ones).

Overwatch is also a lot of fun, but it is once again a small map, but like Piazza the layered nature of it does keep you on your toes. So far I've enjoyed the DLC drops and Liberation in particular.

Any map is a potential sniper map but this one is more so than all the rest. It is very large with lots of long site lines and good cover. Assault rifle players will do well here, too. I have played only 1 match on it so far (for some reason everyone votes Piazza) but I finished number 1 baby! Love my silenced ACR.

Are the new maps out for everyone? I looked last night and couldn't find them. If there not, are they ever going to be released for everyone to buy, or is DLC just for elite?

Eventually they'll be available for everyone, but not until about a month after the 4th or 5th piece hits for Elite. Normal people get the DLC in a group just like it was for MW2 and BlOps. Elite just lets people get it piece by piece as they push it out.

Is it something I'm doing or is the matchmaking really this bonkers in MW3? I keep getting put in games with level 80 people or get dumped into a in-progress game which is about to end on the loosing team with no chance to even the score. Getting into a pre game lobby is almost non existent.

Why can't it match you to people with a similar rank and stop dumping people into in-progress games? I haven't bought a COD since MW1 and that was fine so I don't understand what's happened to multiplayer since then.

It's been like that since MW1, in my experience at least.

Not that rank has anything to do with how good people are. I see high prestige players that can't manage a KD of .5, and then you'll see Rank 50, no prestige guys with a KD of 4 or 5.

Getting dropped into a match just before it ends does suck, but it is just trying to fill slots. Would be like playing on a PC game server and being put on the team with open slots mid round.

Yeah but one can assume that the more you play it the better you get at it, even if its just knowing the map layouts better and having better equipment. Their KD might be low but still doesn't mean they can't shoot freakishly well, you tend to die a lot in these maze style maps anyway.

In MW1 getting dropped into a in-progress match was a lot less frequent, it seems MW3 doesn't want people to wait even 30 seconds in a pre game lobby which is what they are for! I don't mind if it happens occasionally but its like 8 out of 10 times!

I wish you could custom search for matches with very specific requirements, GRAW2 is excellent in that respect and still surprisingly has a large online community because its pretty difficult and slightly more realistic.

Apart from the matchmaking niggles MW3 is a pretty good game despite the bad press, I didn't really enjoy the BF3 demo.
