The premise of GT is racing cars you've upgraded and tuned yourself right? You can go out and buy a Skyline and throw every possible performance mod into the thing to make it lightning around a circuit. If you have enough money in real life, that's possible too right? Well what if instead of buying a Skyline, you bought a used TS020? It's not like they don't sell these cars sometime - look at the McLaren F1 GTR from Le Mans being advertised in another thread here. What's to stop the owner adding the same modifications to his car you just did to your Skyline? These cars may have been designed to meet certain specifications, and they may appear as cars complying with those specifications when you first acquire them, but their no longer racing in championships where they have to adhere to those specifications, so why not let them be upgraded?
