Also speaking to the licensing issue, PD/Sony does not have to get any licensing from the FIA (F1's sanctioning body) in order to use F1 cars, they can make any previous year vehicles as a long as they get licensing from the individual teams. In order to use current year cars and to have events mentioned as a "Formula 1 race" they would have to get licensing from FIA.

Anyways to get F1 license you have to talk the guy in the suit here. Codemasters (ugh!) has it now, and they want to make a game for "everyone" (arcade).

I have hated the Formulas from the day those things deputed in world of GT.
If i want to drive i formula i play Formula 1 game.
So NO more Formulas for me thanks

I don't have a problem with F1 cars in GT, but they need to have decent physics and not the rubbish that is the Ferrari 2007...

Your qoute is taken out of context and wrong.. they are making a full on hardcore sim with a option to make it more arcade like.

It's Bernie Ecclestone, the CEO of the F1 Administration.

Just because Codemasters made GRID into an arcade game doesn't mean they will make Formula 1 games the same way. I don't think FIA (or the old guy in the suit) would be very happy if CM developed a game that badly represented the Formula 1 brand name.
