Is it me or has this game become more frustrating than fun? It took me 2 hours to finish the lambo event at toscana because I pretty much could not see where I was driving. Instead of stupid fireworks they should have made better headlights. Then there is the unequal powered cars. Sometimes you get in a race and do a lap or two to get ahead of the pack, only to realize there are 2 more cars 10sec ahead of you. Same in rally also. You can be neck and neck with two of the cars, but the third car will be like 5 seconds ahead of everybody. I did the Vitz challenge with a yaris and for some reason all those cars were faster than me on the straights! This is not fun its frustrating!

Don't get me started about online. I haven't had a single clean race ever since the game came out. Having finished most of the events in the single player mode, I don't have anything else to do but do the same races over. And I'm not going to use b-spec mode because i want to drive the car myself, not watch the AI drive.

this started sounding like a rant which is what i didn't want happening but i feel like this is the least fun GT in the series. More frustrating than fun to be honest.

I feel your frustration, and certainly agree about B-Spec mode.
I might be more willing to watch it if the 'AI' (and I use that abbreviation very loosely) had even a modicum of common sense and/or ability. But he doesn't; watching b-spec is like watching a replay of a race you've just completed, but you cycle the camera back through the cars to 'last place guy' who's just ambling around the track without a care in the world.

You need to tune the Yaris a bit to keep up with the Vitz RS Turbo's !

Yes, the Yaris race is frustrating. I made the mistake of using the "free" price car. Even tuned it struggles against the 1.5 turbos. Better off just buying the sportier version to start with.

In general though, I sympathise with the OP, but although some parts are frustrating, there is enough breadth to this game to side step the frustrating bits:tup:

I'm starting to drift (no pun intended!) away from the game as well to be honest. There isn't the same compulsion to put in the hours that there was with the older games in the series. Having the power of the PS3 to play with I expected PD to expand all areas of the game, but surprisingly the opposite has happened, they instead have focused pretty much solely on the experience of driving the cars. Hopefully DLC will change/add the features we hoped for.

Try to tune your car, and there is a turbo version of the Vitz, go buy that one :) the A-Spec is really easy IMHO

For me the big problem is that you have to repeat a lot of race so that you have money and points to move on, i am getting tired of the game very quickly :\\\

It's nice that we can not get gold of everything in game just driving one time, your skills will be tested. I dont understand whining about game been too hard to pass gold.

But grinding for level 40 just playing same tracks again and again because there is no more new races or challenges, that is frustrating for sure.. Hopefully they get those rewards/leaderboards for online playing too some day.

I don't see the problem with replaying races really. In the other GT games you had to repeat races to get that car you wanted, and in this GT game you have to repeat races to get that car you wanted AND get to a new level. It's no big deal.

The amount of races there would have to be to get to level 40 without repeating anything would be insane. As long as you don't always enter a race with a super powerful car in order to smoke the competition, it can be fun.

Ok stop everything!

Someone make the game easier for this guy ASAP

His complain about the Lambo rally challenge is not about making it easier, is about living up to the standars of a game 5 years in development.

Kazunori, this is unacceptable!

gran turismo has always been frustrating. The hours I put into trying to win the jay leno tank car on gt4 I still shed a tear when I think about it now.

You must be level 25 ore lower - your argument about repeating races will come to your mind again when you get eg. from Level 29 to Level 30 .....

tbh while i'm putting in a few hours here and there, i'm certainly not finding it 'enjoyable' i'm grinding in hopes of it getting better, but to be frank with the ****** second hand market BS and the lack of dealership cars, let alone the Mercedes CL600 textures burned my eyes the other day. i'm finding little to keep me playing this. FM3 is a well rounded game, and when you slip out of GT5's polished areas it falls awfully short of a racing game let alone a 5 years in the making game.

i'm thinking of firing the xbox up again for some more FM3, i just hope PD get on the case, fix some of these awful standard models, and increase the cars available from the dealers, and unlock all the tracks etc. i just wanna jump online, or go for a blast not waste 50 hours or whatever to play a half arsed game...

Sorry PD and fellow GTP members but after all this wait and buying a ps3 for this release i'm glad i found other titles enjoyable as this is turning out to be a bigger let down everyday i play it more. and it sucks cos i love the GT series.

I don't know about you guys but i'm enjoying my time more and more as I play it. I'm level 23 A-spec and level 10 B-spec and gold in all licenses and gold in most events. Yes PD fell short in alot of areas in the game but you see what sets this game apart from the previous GT's is that it's online. REST ASSURED, there will be things that will be patched up and fixed. I'm just as disappointed with some of the features missing too. But that doesn't stop me from taking a newly purchased MINE'S GTR and taking it down the Nurburgring and see how fast it compares to other cars out of the lot. Ya'll just have to make the best out of what you have.

I`m stunned at how difficult I`m finding it!!!
Really love the game and will battle on, but thought that to achieve bronze in most things would be easier, leaving silver to advanced and gold to die hard gamers.
I just can`t keep up in the Rallys and getting really frustriated as I really like the concept of them.

I`m no plonker, I know about the dynamics of a car, the settings that can be achieved and set, both for the car and steering wheel set. I`m just finding myself at a position now where to progress and gain money etc I`m having to really fight and retry over and over again!!!!

Just find it shocking how many people are progressing and achieving all golds...hats off to you.

Im at level 26 and Im not frustrated or bored with the game at all. I honestly can't get enough of it. Could be cause I haven't played a GT game for a long time, and I just picked up a wheel, but Im very addicted GT5.

I'm level 23 and cannot stop playing!

I must say that the game is much better when you enter races with a car that is similar power to those you are racing. Using on over-powered beast is fun sometimes, but not always when you win, lapping the opponents.

challenge

A call to engage in a contest, fight, or competition
A test of one's abilities or resources in a demanding but stimulating undertaking

I thought the grand tour was pretty cool. The lambo was pretty loose but I had no problem getting bronze on the first try. I will go back later and try to take the gold but considering I had never saw the track before and it was dark in a loose car I did not feel to bad with bronze right off.

Overall I think tha A-Spec races are a bit to easy. The only ones that have been much of a challenge are the Historic Race Cars, The FGT, and the Nascar

I have to agree. Just beacause you got gold in an event by blasting your opponents away with a massively powerfull car dosen't meen you have to just leave that event alone. why not go back and try it with another less powerfull one. didn't win the race? put a turbo on it with your winnings, try again.
with all the cars in this game I cant see my self getting board any time soon?

Without a doubt the most entertaining races I have had so far are the ones where I was using a weak car and had to really drive to win.

I loved the A-Spec point system in GT4 as it got me to try cars that I would not have even considered otherwise in an effort to find the car that could get me 200 spec points on each race if possible. The result was lots of good races and quite a few loses as well.

My first pass through career mode in GT5 I was trying to save money so if I had a car that was capable of winning a race I used it and more often than not that car was a bit more than what was needed. Even then I had fun just checking out the new tracks and getting the prize cars along the way in both a and b spec.

I will likely go back and run most if not all the races with a car that is more of a challenge.

I'd say the game is challenging in the right places, and I actually think getting gold for many events is easier than in previous versions of GT. There are definitely some races/events that are frustrating, but they're in the minority - mostly any elements that are out of your control and not dependent on your driving skill (some aspects of the penalty system, and some AI behaviour).

I'm honestly having a great time with the game, haven't had much of an issue with standout fast cars in the pack, and when they've been around it's usually meant they were running close with me which made it a bit more exciting :)

So far the only things that have REALLY frustrated me are the Top Gear challenges and going for all gold on the AMG challenges (I've still got 2 left to gold on beginner x.x)
