Hello GTP!

I wanted to comment this in the Mistubishi Starion thread, instead of creating a new thread, but I thought a new thread would be seen from more members.

To begin with, I know a lot of you may have noticed this, but let me explain for those who don't know.
Since I can't export my shots into a usb stick, I visit the GT website in order to save my Scapes.

For a reason (don't ask me why, I don't even know) I usually read URLs.
I took 2 Scapes shots in order to make a big M6 meme and when I opened my pic I noticed a strange URL.

After signing into my GT account from the GT website, I went to "My Library" in order to find my shot.
After that, I decided to enlarge the shot in order to save it.
So, after clicking the icon (look the pic below) my photo opened in a new tab, with a different URL.
GT7Sport.jpg

That different URL was the following:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/gt7sp-prod/photo/00/19/34/8431403715562341900_0.jpg

As you can see, there is a website name and after that a gt7sp.

This explains a lot to me.

  • The game is probably named GT7 Sport. This also explains the Mitsubishi Starion is coming to the next Gran Turismo which may finally be the most-wanted GT7.
  • Another hint that the next Gran Turismo will be named Gran Turismo 7, is when Kazunori stated that car customization will come back in the next Gran Turismo. Source
customization features are expected to make a return in GT7.
I am sure there a lot more secret or known hints which I forgot to add.
Comment if you know any and let me know what you think about this.:gtpflag:

with recent trends in games naming i would expect the next one will be called just ''gran turismo''(2019/2020) or just The Gran Turismo :) I doubt if they already called this internally gt7 they would go out to public with gt7 as a next title as this may prove very confusing for developers because you are changing just suffix after number. [not good experience with doing variants by just adding letter as a suffix]

my £0.02

Yeah. Kaz said that the numbers represented the old gen. So, I don't know.
Whatever it's going to be named we know something new is coming. Atleast with more content and car customization!

And even bikes.

You have the words "And even bikes" in very small letters. Is that a clue or a hint that you are referring to this kind of bike:

Hello! I think I found a hint for Gran Turismo 7. It's the Red Bull X2019 Competiton, which was added to GT Sport via the June 2019 update.

Maybe there will be the powerful version of this Red Bull race car in Gran Turismo 7?

GT Sport is GT7. Kaz dropped the number in favor of a name that more reflects the game play experience.

Kaz considers GTSport to be GT7, and it was likely called GT7 internally, hence GT7Sport. The image link refers to the current GTSport, not a future game. :)
The last game was GT6. When you start a new game file you would automatically name it GT7.

Kaz didn't say GTS is GT7. He said they had added so much to GTS that it may as well be called GT7. If it is then it slots between GT5 and GT6 as the second worst game they have made in the series.

He actually did way before GTS even released, and also explained why it's called Sport. And GTSport is a good game.

AFAIK all assets GT stored on AWS bucket called gt7sp-prod.

I guess back then even Kaz still not sure what the game will be called on that time, either GT7, or GT Sport. Eventually, we all know it is GT Sport.

But the development team (not Kaz -- I doubt he is even deciding a bucket name/infrastructure stuff) decide to make a AWS bucket called gt7sp. Not sure why, too. Then comes gt7sp-prod, etc. I guess again there is another bucket, maybe called gt7sp-dev (development), gt7sp-qa (quality assurance -- terms used to test before GTS next update goes live), etc. But those should be only accessible via PD internet network.

Just my two cents, as a person who have experience in AWS platform.

TL;DR: it is just a naming issue, lol.

gt7sp is the internal code name for GT Sport, and has been since release. It might be that they originally intended to call the game GT7: Sport.
I also don't see what the Mitsubishi Starion has to do with any of this.

Well, I doubt if everybody could agree with that. To each his own, I guess.

It has been my experience that most people who dont like GTS do not in fact like it because they were not very successful at racing other people instead of just AI

So why does this need a thread?

You quite literally in your OP said "I thought a new thread would be seen from more members" which isn't the reason for creating a duplicate thread.

You also quite clearly point out that it is almost certainly because the game was called 'GT7 Sport' in development. So, again, why does this need a new thread making?

It's not even a discussion point, really :/

Too bad not all people race online though and they want something more in the game than just online features.
Not only that.... But anyone realized yet that to play online with other people at all, you need Playstation Plus which is a monthly payment service?

Which is a deal-breaker for some...including me.
