Most Disappointing Car in GT5

Why is everybody bashing the Veyron? Sure, it's slow in the corners, but it makes up for it on the straights. :)

Um no, it doesnt . . . Not by a long shot, it's a horrible car in GT5. The cornering cancels out any advantage it gains on the straights, it actually puts it behind, it's terrible at PP races.

In that case I stand corrected, I've only driven it in a-spec. :)

veyron
just for fun i tuned it to 1100hp and the only track its good at is SSR 7

The Enzo.
The thing handles like a bar of soap. The understeer is ridiculous, and then suddenly it snaps into oversteer and decides to slide out of control for a little bit. How annoying is that? It's blasphemous. I paid a million credits for this thing and it handles like a brick? It's just like the Mclaren F1. :grumpy:

Dodge Ram or FGT.
The Ram was slower than I remembered from GT4, and the FGT is just awful imo. I did about 5 laps on Eiger Nordwand Short Track after I bought it, and only one was validated.

Everybody hear is calling a car a disappointment because they can't drive it properly.

No, everybody here is calling a car disappointment because of the fact that they are terrible in the game compared to real life. It has nothing to do with which cars suck or are great in-game, it's the fact that things like the Enzo and R35's have been seriously ruined in GT5, as in real life they are absolute dream cars.

i have found the r35 to be pretty good so far, i use it stock with better tires against similar pp cars and usually beat them online.

One of the most disappointing cars for me is the Acura NSX RM. With all power upgrades, all you get is a mere 413HP. I expected much more power from this car.

I'm not disappointed with any cars it's more like the options for them.. Id love to put rims on a standard car...

Oh my... I can't believe people are even considering the F40 as a disappointing car, it has turbo lag, tall gearing and edgy handling... just like all modern magazine reviews describe the car. :odd: I think it is just perfectly represented.

I don't think there is any disappointing car in the game, I mean, I like the idea of driving crappy cars in a racing game and for that, I don't even maintain high expectations to be disappointed by whichever flaw... I guess.

I really doubt a car that is computer driven is a "absolute" dream to drive. To be quite honest that seems boring. Sure you can corner fast but it's not your driving skills that are making you go fast, is the car. On a side note, if the GTR didn't have AWD and all the aids in the world it would just be a understeering pos.

:)

But to contribute to the tread, everyone bitching about the Veyron on how it can't turn, let me tell you something, it wasn't meant to turn fast. Only reason why it did very well in the TGTT was because the track is a power track. The car is a expensive Jokeswagon luxury cruiser.

But 1 car that I complain about is the FC RX7. Any little thing you do, LOL back kicks out. Jesus Christ, is so unrealistic. Want to know why i know, I drive a RX7 in real life, it's one of the worst interpretation of the car in the game. Yeah it has multilink trailing arm rear suspension, suddenly that's an excuse for the rear to kick out, ALL the time, no matter how soft you're on the throttle. It really irritating, aside from the fact that the idiot cluster inside the 7 is glitched.

I'd have to go with the NASCAR COTs. They sound horrible, and their gear rations are nothing like real life. Also, on the real ones you aren't allowed to mess with the downforce, while on GT5 you can give them a ton of downforce to get them to drive better then they should.

The 190e disappointed me to be honest. I wanted to turbo it so bad (a dream in real life) but pd felt that it shouldn't be done.

I put a turbo on my volvo station wagon right after.....

F40 gearing in the game is actually correct.

Why is max speed 0?

Have you tried some suspension tuning. PD has for some reason used zero camber values on many cars even though the sports cars usually run with negative camber right out of the factory. The old RX 7 has rather tame camber setting and the rear camber is unadjustable in real life but it's still not zero (-0.75 +/- 0.5 says one internet source). Also the toe settings are in most cases off.

The Suzuki Cervo maxed is a beast for kei grind. No assists and it grips like a mutha. 3laps under 3mins easy.

Sadly, PD got it spot on: go check the Seasonal forum and you'll find quotes from Car and Driver and video of the Stig at Top Gear and you'll see if anything, PD made the Enzo easier than in real life. I find it can be tuned to be fairly civilized but it still can be upset very easily so finesse is always needed.

The Enzo.

doesn't look like he said that does it purelogic... he said it doesnt feel as good as it has been said to be

I think people here are bashing the F40 only because they are just to poor drivers to handle that beauty.

I doubt that anyone here owns a F40 and takes it regulary to the track... IMO cars like the F40 and Enzo (cars which tend to "suck" in this game) are just closer to the real world counterparts than all those other poster cars which are WAY TO EASY to drive (458 italia, GTR, SLS) in this game.

I highly doubt that a heavy SLS has such a great handling in real life.

The worst cars in GT5 is all of the RUFs. They look terrible and arent very good anyway.

Not really Jack. I like to drive like Stefan Roser in the Yellowbird at Nurb, & GT5 allows me to do similar things.

I kinda dislike the Murcielago. (Here comes a complaint about it's handles) It handles well, but once you step on the brakes, it's countersteer galore! Atleast for me. :grumpy:

Also the Caterham for it's gearing & the thought of PD not allowing me to turbo an E46 M3!!
