IMO all the Astons handle like a car half their weight - the Vanquish especially so...

You're just nuts! :D

Including the V8 Vantage? Mr I might as well be a bloody landrover because i've got so much bodyroll.
Id vote that the worst performing car in the game personally. I've never had good experience when it comes to tuning Astons either, I had the AMG CLK E55, Jaguar XKR and Aston Martin DB7 Vantage. The DB7 vantage was the slowest stock and tuned. The Vanquish is ok stock (although the Viper, Z06, RGT, Tuscan, Esprit walk all over it) but doesn't tune very well. The V8 Vantage is just heavy.

Heavy god damn it.

Edit: Ahhh, i'm missing the Repeat of the Brit GP!

Yeah, the V8 is a little porky, but it doesn't roll quite as much as the CL600 - it feels more nimble than it ought to really. But hey, my favourite two cars in the game are the Exige and Speed 12 :D

I loved the Speed 12 in GT2, but I kinda forgot about it (you get so many nice cars at the end of the game, but by then I ran out of races to run them in) in GT3.

As for the CL600, I didn't even bother trying it because I already had the idea that it would handle like a [insert negative Jeremy Clarkson description here].

Anyway i've got to go and watch the British GP, I missed it this afternoon. :p

there are several overrated cars in GTP. skylines/supras are the most evident. then there is the R390GT1 racer, wich just irritates me. Id take any other race car, even the panoz, over it, any day. I cant stand it. some other cars are the oreca viper, wich is quite heavy, all the astons... they are heavy, too, and arent as fast. I think fastest of the three is the DB7. well, Im talking abut plain bad cars here. overrated also are the lotus elises. they suck. they arent as fast in curves. their only pro is that they are incredibly soft with tires. but otherwise they are a brick. another car that is incredibly overrated is the castrol tom supra. its the image of the game, but it cant take any curve without loosing off. the denso supra is helluva better. the fto LM is also a damned slow brick.

duncha think that is alot of cars to be overrated int he game... i think that hte skylines and supras... while not bad cars... are a bit overrated... but the elise is a great lil car... only prob is that its soo light... if you go on the rumble strips with any tires you will most likely sipn...

You're joking, right? I've been doing some cleanup work on Pro series races that are not all gold yet. I've also been trying to use as many different cars as possible.

So recently I jumped into the FTO racecar for the first time, to run the Monaco race in the Pro Dream Car series. Having never driven the car at all (not even to qualify), and running it stock with no adjustment, I finished more than a minute and a half ahead of the S2000 LM. That was the only car on the lead lap in a 20-lap race. All the other LM cars were a lap down at least, and I even pitted when I didn't really need to!

I also ran the R-390 racecar in the R11 Enduro. Again, stock and undriven. R11 is my absolute least favorite course in GT3, yet I still put a 2-lap hurting on the TS020 and the Zonda racer. The C5R and GT40 racers were 3 laps down, and the XJ220 was down 4! That's almost 1 lap in every 10.

To each is own, but I'd say that these are 2 of the easiest cars to drive very fast in the game.

I definitely agree with you Duke. The R390 Race Car is one of the best cars in the car . . . probably the 2nd best behind the 787B. The 787B is probably the only car for pure speed in a closed wheel car that I would want over the R390. The FTO Race Car is probably the 2nd best 4WD car in the game behind the ZZII, and really is probably just as good . . . I just prefer the ZZII. Both of these cars are extremely fast and can become ridiculousy fast with tuning.

Definitely, the ZZII is awesome stock and really adding anything to it somewhat upsets the car. Such a fun car to drive, and definitely a very beautiful one to look at!

believe me, I felt the FTO LM to be as hard as a brick. havent tried to tune it, but its just tooo long on turning, and... well, i dont know, the feedback from the car is nule... I just cant. as for the R390GT1, well, I think that its a little too hard for me too, Im not saying that it is that bad a car, but Id take the GT1 or the 787 over it, talking in the same playing level. yes, it may be the third best car in the game. but, I just CANT stand it. it irritates me... i dont know, Im weird. maybe its because the CPU wins you stupidly easy with it, and when you drive it, its notthing like when you see the CPU going away from you. it feels less confident than the GT1, and less fast too. it is heavy on tires, and all that, it sucks. I may be weird, but I ABSOLUTELY hate that car (in stark contrast with the toyota GT1, wich I love)

I agree on the idea that the R390 just isn't as good as people say it is. The computer seems to be able to use it in almost a cheating manner and in that aspect it gets on my nerves. For instance in a 20 lap race, it will remain on the lead lap with me, and NEVER PIT. The fact that it doesn't pit is the only reason it beats the GTOne and that's so unrealistic it's not even funny. Maybe it's a glitch maybe it's not. But it igg's me very much so. I feel the 787B is the best car in it's class among the other race bred cars. As far as overall best car in the game I think the ZZII is great, it handles like a dream both stock and modified. Worste over rated street class car continue's to be the Skyline in my opinion.

..........Isn't this most over rated car? Not Favorite Rally car?..It's an honest mistake I often confuse the phrase

"Most Over-rated car" with
"Favorite Rally Car".
It's so easy to get the two confused.

What's unrealistic? The R390 LM came 2nd at 24 heures du Mans if I remember, whereas the best a GT-One ever did was 4th. Plus a full-bore one has 300hp more than the GT-One on the same weight chassis.

Anyway, the reason they never pit. Watch a replay, flick to an AI car - any AI car - and watch their steering. They rarely - if ever - get beyond 15 degrees off-centre. They don't angle their wheels as sharply as we do, so their tyres don't wear as badly.

On the GT-One . . . it would have won the 24 Heures du Mans if it didnt have a mechanical problem. But on the game I prefer the R390, it doesn't have the annoying BOV going off all the freakin' time.

the only japanese marque to ever win the 24 hour of le mans was mazda, and in a 787B, the best of the pure on race breed cars...its definitely worth the hype it gets.
the most over-rated in my opinion is definitely the R33 and R34 skylines...they're both no where near the prue spartan sports car that the R32 was...
and as far as under-rated goes, everyone should go get a focus rally car and max it out, even buy tarmac tires for it...with a little setting tune for switches between dirt and tarmac, this little four-banger can't be beat!

Definately! It sounds like four straight-piped Harley Davidson's in sync! It out-sounds the competition in decibel wars!

You watch the Audi R8's, Porsche 911 GT3's, Ferrari Modena's go roaring by sounding a bit ricey, and then you hear a Harley Davidson go by... and your lookin around the screen... and the camera follows the Audi and turns where you see a Corvette going down a straight far away, so you guess that the exhaust blasted straight into the mic when the Corvette rounded the corner... remember, the pipes are on the side, not the rear...

But inside the car it sounds like a roaring V-8, sans exhaust note!

And as for what I said earlier, let me clarify.

The Open differential (also called Free) has two sun gears, one on each axle, and two planet gears connected to the housing, meshed to the sun gears. 50/50 Power distribution is maintained as long as the input force does not exceed the traction of ONE output axle. Therefore, if one wheel slips, ALL 100% power goes to it, since the planet gears will rotate AROUND the slower axle and PUSH the faster spinning axle! This means, that if one wheel is on the road, and the other is in the mud, and you floor the accelerator, the wheel in the mud will spin like crazy and the wheel on the road will stay planted.

GT3 lacks the option of allowing or changing the Center Differential to the limited-slip kind, or adjustable LSD.

That means that cars with a heavy rear weight bias will have a problem with front wheels spinning a lot but the back ones doing nothing.

I made the front wheels go to Warp 5 by doing the "upshift when spinning wheels" routine. And if I stop fast enough (or hit a wall), the front wheels will be just below Warp 2 but the rear ones will comply almost instantly.

"We have to stop!"
"We can't sir!"
"Why not?"
"Well sir, we have to slow down first!"
"I ORDER YOU TO STOP THIS SHIP!!!"

1st officer pulls the emergency stop lever, instantly stopping Spaceball 1 from ludicrous speed. Dark Helmet, not strapped into a seat, goes flying into the front of the ship, slamming headfirst into the wall, creating a helmet-sized hole in the wall.

The Corvette would have such a heavenly sound to it as it goes by. It would be so great to get to just drive the car and listen to the 427 under the bonnet and the thundering exhaust coming out of the side.

Ahhhhhhhhh Spaceballs . . . what a great movie . . . need to buy it on DVD.

Skylines blow when tuned too far past 400HP. SL600 is a POS.
The ORECA & FTO LM rule supreme!

But what I really wanna ask is who HATES the MS Elise as much as I do? I just spent about 3 hours with this freak o' nature in the Pro Elise Cup. I had Fume's setup & I got Cote just fine, then it went downhill from there. I tweaked & tweaked to no end! Removed the rear toe-out, increased camber, brakes, LSD accel......... You name it, I did it!! This POS is TOO LIGHT. Has no low-end torque, yet constantly spins the rears. It pushes, it won't brake straight, ANY variance in road..... surface gets it sliding. If you LOOK at a rumble strip- Spin right out!! The droning engine is friggin' DEPRESSING! I gave up 1/2 way through Rome 3 hours later. The ass of this car looks like a beetle (not VW) UGLY!! Especially in BRG!
Look, I'm a good driver & I can tweak a car to my liking if I like the car to begin with. But if I didn't have to do this for completion, I would NEVER bother with this PIECE OF CRAP!!!!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Thanks guys, I feel better now. :(

Hey Rat . . . I remember doing a significant amount of tweaks to his setup. I gave it -0.5 front toe and remove the rear. I also strengthened the brakes, because I felt it was slowing fast enough. I think I made the front camber 2.0. I remember adding alittle traction control. The auto set was a touch high . . . I sure do wish I would have written down what I did. That's all I can remember doing though . . . I'm sure I might have done more, but I don't know what. It performed great when I finished tuning it. Gosh, I'm pretty much useless though with this post. :banghead: :banghead:
