most patched Ps3 game?

Could well be. But don't think that is by definition a negative thing. Most games patch out the most obvious bugs, then leave the minor ones. GT5 just keeps going, all major bugs were fixed in a short time after they were discovered (I think) and a lot of minor stuff also. Also new features (I admit some should have been in from the start), most games charge money (a lot) for that, GT5 does it for free. It's the only AAA game I know that is still supported properly, 15 months after release, with no signs of an imminent end.

I actually had to delete installed files off of GT5 because it started to lag, because apparently when my ps3 is wiped clean of software, (80gb) it says 64. So i'm ****d and cant download anything, sorry if this went off topic a bit.

^^^ that's how it is for all hard drives. I have an idea why it's like that, but I'm not the one to ask.

With almost 10gb(including DLC and extras) worth of updates, I would say
yes.
More like 3.2 gig's

Yup. HuskyGT, you forgot that includes the size of the game installation.

Is it really 3.2gb? I figured it was less than 3. Last time I checked, it was 2.2gb, which was some time after the Spec 2 update released.

By size? Yes. 2+ gigs worth, as said.

By number? Easily COD, if you include the "live updates" (I think Black Ops was the only one to do this, unless MW3 did so too). By acutal patches? Yes.

(Going off topic) Why the need for so many? Network scripting, etc. for online. If GT5 was developed like GT4, 3, etc. (offline only) and patched later on to add online, I think it would've been a lot better: more premiums, better physics/graphics, less "stupid bugs".

No wonder I despise online gaming...yet I still do it as its the only thing to do on these "next gen consoles". God how I wish my computer still worked AND could play anything on high graphics :grumpy:.

The 1st time that i deleted the game data (before Spec-II) my GT5 installation was 24gb....cause i have downloaded every free video from GT-TV.
That doesnt mean that the patches/updates were 24gb.

TheeFrogmanlego was talking about the updates/patches only.

I clean installed GT5 on a new console the other day and it required six updates.

It's quite a lot. But I think there are games with more (Modern Warfare 2 might have more)

Is GT5 the most patched game on the ps3?

To my knowledge, yes.

And that's a good thing.

It means PD actually cares about the players and the quality of the product they market. Not like some other companies like EA and Atari, for instance.

The more holes you have, the more patches you need. GT5 has holes. We all know this.

GT5 had holes yes, but they also improved on alot of things. Nothing is ever perfect although that doesn't stop some cod fanboys from saying they are.

👍 usually, I'd be against a post that ended like yours, but corvetteconquer just HAD to be negative. The question was plain and simple to answer, no point in implying that GT5 gets constant updates because of the "holes".

GT5 is huge, inside and out. That's all I'll say about that.

Oh yeah,

Kaz is almighty and PD is awesome. ;)

That's for the people that unreasonably label me a fanboy (the bad version/kind of a fanboy), even though we're all members of GTP, a site DEDICATED for GT. Yes, I'm a fanboy. Biased, most of the time I'm definitely not.

From what perspective brings the question? Are patches bad? I would suggest that much of the patchwork follows content additions.

I think GT5 is the PS3 counterpart to Minecraft on PC. both have had many updates. lol. although Minecraft wins on number of updates by far

That's missing the point of Minecraft.

Never played it, nor do I know what it's about (building stuff?). Only saw videos.

But the graphics part was a joke. I thought the comparison between the two games would be funny on a graphical level. Forgot to add the :D.

I'd love to see somone build the 'ring with a few racing cars on Minecraft, though. (Don't really know if that's possible.)

As stated before, GT5 is patched frequently, but being over a year old, i say that's a good thing. haha it's much better than EA's efed-up Shift 2 game. **** was overhyped and everyone said there'd be massive support, but what happened? Alas it's off topic, but you see where i'm goin

People thought that they'd support that game?

that's sad

Socom Confrontation was massively patched and shipped in a barely playable state.

Sorry readed it wrong.
My bad :)

This may sound stupid, but it's only to put things into perspective.

Were the physics improved in Confrontation?

Lol, it was mainly fixing the net code IIRC, but improvements were made to the game and features were added over time. I think trophies didn't arrive until 4-5 months after release even though they were on the box.

I agree that GT5's patches haven't been all bad and added to the game but it doesn't mean PD should get a free pass either. Features on the box like matchmaking aren't in the game and even though we have leaderboards they are about as limited as you could make them. And for just about every good patch there is another patch to fix glitches introduced by previous patches.

I praise PD for their support of the game, but odd design decisions, failure to live up to expectations, and poor testing of updates is half the reason we've had so much support. If they could have done things right from the beginning we would have far fewer fix updates and more free content and paid DLC, at least IMO.
