Personally i use the ':|' simile alot on msn cuz my friends are all weird.... but i use 'lol' all the time, not cuz it's funny
i use 'lol' as an expression to say, yes, i undestand it.
if it's something REALLY funny, i type in 'HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA' or 'rotflmao'

To tell the truth, I don't really use any one word or expression to excess (as evinced by many of my posts here). If you're wondering, yes, I talk like this in my day to day conversation. Just with more cursing and swearing.
