I'm on PS3 just before I start. Does anyone else having trouble joining online lobbys? So far only been able to join 1 and every other time I try its says I got disconnected from PlayStation network? Do Milestone have any particular ports for there servers? I have all the Sony ports open but couldn't find the info if Milestone have any.

Also don't think think this is a bug but just sloppy work. When doing a qualifying session in career mode there is a clock in the garage. When I select go to track I magically do 90% of the out lap in no time at all. So in the 40 minute session I can be a on a flying lap at 39.40.

I think I'm having trouble finding lobbies simply because no one is online. I noticed your second point, I think it was lazy of them to do that.

but I do believe that most videos have racers that "can't race" because the game does not facilitate smooth racing. And that's what kills my fun. It's possible to get there by practice, practice, practice but I think it should be easy to pick up and difficult to master. Now I believe it's difficult to pick up and probably difficult to master. And difficult in the wrong, struggling kinda way, fighting the control.

I found it difficult to pick up but I'm progressing easily enough, I think your right about the game not facilitating smooth racing, you go so much faster by being aggressive. The Moto3 bikes are really easy to ride though and the steps to a MotoGP bike are just right in career mode, if you start off on a big bike you'll crash straight away.

As a general statement that might be right but I've played most motorcycle games there are and always play full sim, all aids off, so when I struggle it's not because I don't know how to play games, it's because the controls are bad.

Downloaded the PS3 Demo and it's clearly vastly superior to the XBOX 360 version and adresses some of my previous concerns. The limited lean angle seems to be completely gone, the framrate is stable and braking appears to be far more effective.

My only remaining conerns are the obvious lack of smooth analog input when leaning in and making corrections (but to a certain extent, it's most likely my awful 3rd party controller's fault) and bike collisions that still happen way too easily.

I think you have to refresh the list to get any to show up which is a bit strange. last night UK time it said there was 30 lobbys and a few had 8 or more people in them.

5th fastest online player around Valencia on the PS3, which is nice. :) I think there are a few cheaters on the leaderboards though. My online stats are being funny though, I've had 7/8 races and I know I've won all but one of those but my stats show 6 races 3 wins. :ouch:

It's odd how it doesn't refresh automatically even when you change the search parameters.

So nice to see a thread with some Motogp 13 action. :)

I've been playing this since the demo. I'm liking the gameplay so far. I don't like that online matches are sketchy at the moment. I can seldom connect to races and if I do, it's usually against only one or two people while others get dropped. It's definitely full of bugs and missing features compared to SBK Generations. I hope Milestone will release a patch that fixes these problems rather expect us to be the guinea pigs for Motogp 14 and so forth.

Things I like compared to Generations:
- Helmet cam - glad to be rid of the swinging on a pendulum effect of Generation's helmet cam. In Motogp 13, it's more dynamic though there does seem to be something off between the camera and where the wheels are supposedly tracking.
- Handling feels a lot more realistic and engrossing.

Some of the problems impacting gameplay I've noticed so far:
- Semi-auto gear shifts won't downshift to first gear automatically
- No ghost in time trial. Generations had it, please include it in Motogp 13. I would like to know the fast and slow portions of my lines.
- Won't save best lap times beyond a session. Again, Generations had it but is missing in Motogp 13.
- Choosing to display info in MPH doesn't actually display the correct speed on the in-game bike's speedo. It says it's MPH but the number say I'm doing 240 mph before the first corner off the line. There's also a discrepancy between the displayed gear on the speedo and the audio timing of the gear shifts. Off the line, it sounds like I have 7 gears.
- No option to pre-configure your bike settings with the engineer for qualifying vs race depending on the track as they had in Generations.
- Weather system - riding in the rain vs sunny makes almost no difference in traction or lap times. SBK Generations, weather differences were quite noticeable in traction, braking points, acceleration, etc.
- Going off-track into the gravel, grass, etc, has almost no impact on traction as well. SBK Generations, the difference was quite noticeable and I always straightened up my bike when I went off-track in order avoid crashing, as it should be.

Then some smaller bugs:
- The gyro and face instant replay cameras aren't labeled
- Ben spies 2012 bike has Lorenzo's brake reservoir sock
- Sometimes during instant replay, your rider disappears off the bike

Requests:
- On-track telemetry, either in real-time or instant replay (if in-game drops frame rates too low). Would be more practical to view throttle and braking application on the track than just in the pit.
- Transparency - not a big issue but would be nice to be able to have the option to make the HUD transparent as in Generations (in-game helmet transparency would be nice too) for minimal distraction while retaining ability to have info when recording footage.

Overall, I enjoy it, even though it has a lot of fixable shortcomings that I'm hoping they will actually fix through patches.

Onto some game footage at Assen. Realistic AI, pro physics, no riders aids, TCS full (I can shave off a few seconds by lowering it, but I like being able to slide the rear to steer and I'll lower it as I get better):

And a comparison with SBK Generations (horrible lines because I didn't study AI lines using instant replay back then):

For me there was a difference, the bikes seem to slide a lot more and in one qualifying session I remember the lap times tumbling as the track went from full wet to an almost completely dry track. (PS3 version)

How much of a difference do you notice in lap times? In Generations, it was usually around 10 seconds between rain and sunny.

One thing I wanted to respond to was the camera shake and looking in during cornering comments. Personally, I love it and I hope they keep it and maybe throw in some shake and wind noise for the straights as well. I know when I'm on my bike at the track or twisties, my head is bobbing all over the place, I'm looking into the turn past the apex, bike is wiggling and shaking at high speeds, and the wind noise becomes deafening. The more bike sims can incorporate that, the more immersive and engrossed I feel. Comparing the Generations and Motogp 13 footage of Assen, Generations has a very artificial feeling to it.

I couldn't give you a number but definitely less than ten seconds, instead it seems to be more like 2/3 seconds. It could be just my inconsistent riding but when Bautista jumps to pole half way through a drying session there must be a difference.

2-3 seconds is what I get too. Not very realistic.

I finally got my copy of GP13 last saturday. Took almost 2 weeks for shipping. Don't know why it took so long considering 2 other friends I race with got theirs in the monday before and ours were shipped out the same day.

So far Im liking it. Like its been said already the online is really bad as of right now. I really hope they get it fixed soon as racing online with friends is the only reason I even play. It lags like crazy plus freezes in some screens and when you get more than 3-4 in a room the net code is terrible. You cant even really race close cause when you get a bike length or so beside somebody it thinks you touched and you both crash.

Also like you guys said the difference between wet and dry track is really non existent. The lap times are basically the same. Wasn't like that in the last SBK games.

If any of you guys want to race some online hit me up. Normally me and a couple friends play at night eastern time my psn name is same as up here, MadRR. Also for anybody interested we are trying to get together a GP 13 championship on my forum if any of you guys want to come over and check us out, http://onlinesimracing.proboards.com.

Tried PS3 demo. Ugly frame rate and aliasing. I can live with aliasing but 27 / 28 frame rates per seconds kill the fun for me.

Is Superbike Generations the same, graphic wise?

New patch, a time attack game mode has been introduced and I've been having fun with it, I set a 1:23.632 at Valencia on a 2012 bike which puts me first in the world... ahead of 5 or 6 others.

Is the demo not available in NA market or was it taken down?

As far as I know it was never made available here.
