Oh dear... Was that juniors or the big boys? Either way it's pretty awful... Would expect better from those guys, being part of the BTCC weekend.

Deserved a pretty severe punishment in my view. Disgraceful behaviour.

I was outside and heard paul o'neil yelling so I rushed in and saw them going for each other. I have no idea what happened to them in the end, I can't find any news anywhere, but they were talking about revoking their licences :scared:

Although if you watch BTCC (regular barging, lots of out-of-course action) the example at "the top" isn't much better either. That's the reason I've stopped watching - the stewards seem, in my opinion, to favour crowd-pleasing silliness over real track racing.

I haven't seen NASCAR levels of wrecking though in BTCC ever.

I've never seen any outlandishly ridiculous move in BTCC that hasn't been taken seriously by stewards.

In fairness I did forget Nascar :)

@hsv, the fact that our definition of "ridiculously outlandish" differs isn't a problem, but you have your view and I have mine... I set the benchmark much lower in timed road racing :D

Touring cars bumping and shoving is acceptable. Very rare you actually get someone going after someone for the purpose of wrecking them. I like NASCAR but grief they are ridiculous sometimes.

The most amazing bit of that for me is at 14:28 - Bernd Mayländer is sitting in the safety car watching his mirrors, then suddenly nails the throttle having seen Liuzzi spinning towards him.

This was also the race that brought in the rule that prevents cars being lifted by crane back on to the circuit and continuing.

"We know those McLarens will tick over for apparantly ever" is still one of my favourite Martin Brundle quotes.

I've finally found a link to the start of the 2007 European GP with ITV commentary, the most crazy opening 3 laps I remember from F1 start at around 8:00

2007 was when dad introduced me to F1, and one driver that appealed to me was Kimi Raikkonen-just because of his name. It sounded funny to me. Just my luck that he wins the championship by 1 point over Lewis Hamilton :sly:

Mikhail Aleshin, 97G crash. Broken clavicle, concussion, fractured ribs and chest injuries.

And yes, that is a tire in the fence in the thumbnail.

Reason number two why I refuse to watch IndyCar when they're at ovals, excluding the Indy 500.
