I would assume "most feared race" means the Isle of Man TT. If this is the case I have no clue as bike racing is not my forte whatsoever :P

EDIT: Damn, I should refresh the thread more often rather than quick replying >_>

You are correct. Maybe you should check out the TT this year. It'll be on one of the ITV channels. Another good introduction to the world of Road Racing and the TT is the documentary "TT: Closer to the edge". You should enjoy it regardless of how interested you are in bike racing. My wife loved the film and she's not into racing at all.

Was there a car which was just the Chaparral 2 and not 2A to make it 11 cars in total?

Nope, you were right about there not being a Chaparral 2, but you've missed a different part.
It was the 2D you missed.

I'll give it to you anyway.

Ha, can't believe I missed that! I did mean to write it too. Honest.

Here's an easy one;

First carbon fibre monocoque win in F1.

Event/Year/Driver/Car

GO!

1981 British Grand Prix, John Watson, McLaren MP4-1

Correct. A superb win for John Watson in the original MP4 (Followed by the MP4B and then the MP4/1C) at Silverstone in 1981 heralded a new era for chassis design and driver safety in the event of a crash.

Bonus trivium: The MP4 got its name as a result of the merger between McLaren International and Project 4 following Ron Dennis' takeover of the former. Marlboro Project 4 was the acronym in deference to their eponymous title sponsor. Following the split from Marlboro in 1996, this has now been changed to McLaren Project 4, although it has become somewhat of an orphan initialism.

OK then, this one will probably be shot down in a matter of moments as usual :P

Which country has (by far) the best Drivers Entered/Championships Won ratio in Formula One?

(Yes, most, if not all, my questions and answers will be F1, it's the only motorsport I watch religiously, k >_>)

Well off hand I don't know so...

Argentina? Fangio has won 5 of the 62 championships for a ratio of 8% and I don't think that there have been too many other Argentines to bring that ratio down.

3 champions but 4 championships, for a ratio of 6.4%. Like with Argentina, I'm unsure how many Finns have competed over time.

Only 8, so if its total than thats 50%... Unless I have the wrong understanding of the ratio being questioned.

Maybe I misunderstood the question. My ratio was out of all the championships, and not as I now think, only for the nationality. You're almost certainly right.

Otherwise question would simply be which country has won the most world championships, which would likely be Germany (Schumacher has 7 of them, plus 2 from Vettel and that's only recent years...)

Finland is correct. There have been 8 Finnish drivers in the sport to date, and they have won a total of 4 World Championships. This gives a ratio of 2:1

Australia and Austria are both tied at 4:1, with Argentina at 5:1. The worst nations are Italy, having fielded 101 drivers yet only brought home three world championships (and none since 1953), and the USA, with 155 drivers providing only two world championships, although a lot of this number were drivers who only competed in the Indy 500.

The country with the most World Championships to its name is the UK, with 14 championships coming from 10 different drivers. Germany is second with 9.

And there has only been one American-born F1 champion. Andretti was born in Italy and lived there until he was 15.

So if you get into semantics, it could be USA 1, Italy 4 but the ratios are still poor. USA especially thanks to the Indy era, which Formula 1 drivers didn't even pay attention to until it was taken off the calendar.

What about South Africa? Have there been any other drivers beside Jody Scheckter (for a ratio of 1:1)?

Amazingly there have been 23 South African F1 drivers. (I think I would've caught a 100% ratio >_>)

Scheckter was by far and away the best of the bunch though, only two others even scored points, never mind contested for a championship.

Many of them competed during the customer era of the 60s and 70s. Same with Australians; Larry Perkins has made it to F1 rejects courtesy of his escapades in the 1970s.

A break from Formula 1, so even easier (probably) than normal. What can I say, I'm not great at these questions!

Who has won the most "Champion of Champions" (not Nations Cup) trophies at the Race of Champions events?

Wow, did not know that. Thanks.
