Now that is very interesting.

I award the question back to you. Your questions are very good indeed. I enjoy a challenge.

Thank you indeed, but I must be off for a few hours, so....

I know the location but not the year. :ouch:

Oh, I was thinking it was one of the Tripoli races....

It looks like GTPorsche wins by good fortune!

Respectfully,
Steve

Three puzzlers from the Middle East:

- Name the only Formula 1 driver who was born in Turkey.

- Name the only Formula 1 driver who was born in Egypt.

- Name the only Formula 1 driver of Syrian descent.

One correct answer will earn you 100% credit!

Respectfully submitted,

Bob Said?

Well done.
Boris "Bob" Said was born in New York City of Syrian and Russian parents.
He was the first American to win a race of any kind in Europe after WWII. He drove a rented Connaught at the US GP at Sebring, and competed in the bobsled events at two Olympics. His son is the well-known NASCAR competitor, Boris Said III.

Mike Beuttler(28 F1 starts) was also born in Egypt.

Correct! And also well done.

You both deserve to ask the next questions!!

Jonathan Williams.

I owe Peter JB an apology. I did not know Jonathan Williams was born in Egypt. So PeterJB is a winner, too!

Right I've found 1986 with the QVX.

The entry below from wikipedia contradicts that idea.

In the 1980s, Lamborghini developed the QVX for the 1986 Group C championship season. One car was built, but lack of sponsorship caused it to miss the season. The QVX competed in only one race, the non-championship 1986 Southern Suns 500 km race at Kyalami in South Africa, driven by Tiff Needell. Despite the car finishing better than it started, sponsorship could once again not be found and the programme was cancelled.[68]

A Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT started the 2006 event.

Technically they didn't, but the Lancia Group C racers were Lancia-Ferrari, in the same way Porsche Can-Am cars were Porsche-Audi 917/30

Yeah true. But if it were red with the prancing horse on it.... but then the 333 SP's came.

Who was the most recent death during a Le Mans 24 Hours race, and what car were they driving?

Does it have to be during the race? Or can it be in a practice session?

During the race is Jo Gartner on June 1st, 1986. The most recent death at Le Mans was at practice on May 3rd, 1997 taking the life of Sebastien Enjolras.

During the race, so you're correct! What car was he driving?

Nice. I would like to see that.
Here's my question.
Which Indy car driver was killed in 1990 and how and where?

Bill Vukovich III died in a Sprint Car race at Mesa Marin raceway in Bakersfield California started in 7 Indycar races and the 1988 Indy 500 rookie of the year

Is ^that the correct answer, nitrorocks?

I have a question in mind but I need to be patient...

Yes! And my dad worked on his team at Indy in 88. Your turn.
