I feel like I'm the only person that doesn't like this track. While I have enjoyed difficult tracks like Nurburgring, I've never enjoyed any race I've ever had on this track.

It gets old pretty quick, I must say. However, I do like it because of its unique layout.

I can see how it may get old for some users, but as a kid watching events at this track and being there in person makes me want to drive on it more and more :D I just wish the graphics were better; The ripple strips look like PS2 quality lol.

I like Mount Panorama, but i think its more important to the aussie mates then it is to people of other countrys.
At first i hated the layout tbh, but i gave it a chance and now i like it! Just wish we ha some V8 supercars

Australia

I've always loved this track since it appeared in the TOCA Series and couldn't wait to race on it again in GT6. I haven't read all the pages of this thread and frankly opened it because I thought it was created to address an issue with the track that I have and a couple others I've run across in rooms at this track. After several laps, the complete audio track starts to break up, increases more and more until suddenly I loose complete audio (usually after 3 or 4 laps). At first I thought it was a hardware issue, but everything checked out ok. Then I had to think that since this was the only track in the game that this occurs at, that it might be a game issue. Then I started hearing from others who also had this issue.

Mine has been fixed since 1.03. Have you updated?

Every year me and 20 buddys hire a bus to go golfing at Orange - which is past Bathurst. Part of the tradition is doing a lap of honour at Mt. Panorama. The cops never have to worry about us old b******* in our 1/2 HP bus! :)
I go through Orange to get to Bathurst. Only stopped there once but

Haven't been to Bathurst, haven't been to Nordschleife...
...but some who have...have posted that GT6's presentation is pretty damn good...
...I'll take their word for it, having been to Willow Springs locale I concluded same about it. 👍 👍

Meanwhile, I will continue to thoroughly enjoy my trips up the "mountain". :)
And thanks millions to all the great videos you have all have posted, D/Led all.

Ha! I did the same thing with a group of mates a couple of years ago. Did a trip around nsw in a mini bus and can home via bathurst, did a lap and nearly tipped it over coming through Forrest's Elbow. Good times

It is fantastic to have Bathurst in GT6 and I love driving on it!

I do have two small gripes with PD's version of it though;
-No brake markers (as it was scanned in non-race setup I imagine they weren't there, but it would have been nice to add them)
-The tyre bundle that protrudes out from the end of the wall on the exit of Forrest's Elbow. The fastest line is to go as close to the wall as possible on exit, so it's frustrating to not be able to do this. This tyre bundle is not there on race weekends.

The tire bundle, It used to be there.....who could forget this ?

I love it.

I'd enjoy it more if only the FPS drop (stuttering) along the downhill corners can be cured. Sigh~

Anyone out there feels my pain?

I ask you all how many have given this track a go in reverse. To know its hard to master the correct route try mastering the opposite way. It helps also to give it its true lay out its steepness and angles in reverse.

I won't be getting bored of this track. I love it. Been spectating there since about '83. Did a lap yesterday actually while doing a job there. There were no police there when I went around.

Just looked at my 2011 DVD and there was no tyre barrier exiting Forrests Elbow then. Anyone remember when PD were there? Maybe they've seen Dick Johnson's 1983 Hardies Heroes lap too many times.

I first raced on this track in Shift 2, I liked it but could take it or leave it.

It isn't until now, after maybe 200 laps in the Ford Falcon in GT6 that I can appreciate this fantastic track for what it is.

Bathurst is now officially in my top 5 racing circuits! 👍

The Shift 2 track model was pretty cr@p, that might explain why :)

This year will be my first visit to the 1000 since living in Australia for the passed 5 years. As a North American, Ive watched V8s since the days of the AU Falcon on Speedvision. This is pretty much the only track I race on if im not doing the GT3 and RB Jr races for credits. I cant get enough of it. It's a real place. A real road. A real race circuit.

The Nurb, La Sarthe, they are fantastic and historical circuits. I prefer Spa out of all European circuits. Mt Panorama does that for me. Its 2minutes of all the great circuits of the world. A tight and narrow city layout with the walls, rises, long straights, blind corners. Just long enough to keep me awake and focused.
2, 240.8kms logged so far. I love it.

The tyre bundle is there because outside race weekends it is a two way road and people can (stupidly) drive the track in reverse, it is usually removed for races but they forgot in 1983 causing Dick Johnson's famous crash pd scanned the track while it wasn't set up for a race weekend, this is probably why there aren't any brake markers.

A couple of other things missing are the XXXX draught logos and yellow paint around the dipper, it appears this was taken out (it's a beer company) as some tyre bundles are still yellow.

All the blank black sections of wall had Mother energy drink logos but this is a competitor of Red Bulls so had to go.

Also the cutting loses it's blue Tyre Power signage, not sure why?

The grass is way too green, ideal for a rain soaked European or Japanese track but Aussie grass has a lot more brown in it, just look at any YouTube footage.

And finally they forgot the Peter Brock statue, trivial I know but still annoying.

don't get me wrong, this is the best representation of Bathurst I've played, purely spectacular at night. It just looks a bit bare without all the signage and brake markers, and that bloody tyre bundle.

And can we please have the FPVs back!:(

I wholeheartedly agree, my favourite track at the moment.

Upon further investigation, the tyre bundle is actually three bundles of tyres. Yip, hit it again and noticed when I was flipped up and ended up looking directly down on them, double checked in replay / photomode.

A well tuned car provides me a very wide grin when flying through the technical section between Griffins Bend and those tyre bundles. A poorly tuned car is no fun through the same section.

My newest fun thing to do offline is the International B GT All Stars Championship...
...race 3 (Bathurst) in tuned Pozzi Camaro using the clutch/manual transmission.

Got inspired after watching some of the old-time videos you guys have posted...
...in the days before sequentials, DCTs and the like, its a heel-toe shifting delight.

The old-time muscle cars are great up the hill, they just pull like a freight train even mid-rpms.
Once my video capture finally arrives, I'll post a replay, see if I can get the pedals action too.

Noticed last night in free run (using VW Kombi van) while on scenic tour that some billboards are blank.
So to you guys down under who have been there, I have a question.

All those residences along track, how often does that impede their use of otherwise public roads?

Not very often. It's only generally closed 3 times a year for the bathurst 1000, bathurst 12 hour and the bathurst motor festival held over the Easter weekend
