Not very often. It's only generally closed 3 times a year for the bathurst 1000, bathurst 12 hour and the bathurst motor festival held over the Easter weekend

And the Easter Motor Festival and Hillclimb events as well as a few other such and such owners club that sometimes hire out the track.

I've been doing some hot laps in the Yellow Hat GTR at Bathurst since it feels like a really good combo to get used to using a wheel with, it's help me learn the circuit and I now really like it, I just WISH it didn't cause so many bugs. I had to quit the game to get my sound working again after it glitched out.

Interestingly I sat and watched the sun go down at Bathurst, and that seems to happen about 6pm, so it seems they use a date in late April for the environmental modelling.

The Shift 2 track model was pretty cr@p, that might explain why :)

Haha, maybe you are right, but I have always preferred the way the tracks and everything else looked and sounded in Shift 2, GT tracks seem a little too 'sterile' (for want of a better word) to me...if only Shift 2 had GT6 physics!

I definitely agree except for the Shift 2 version of the Nurburgring.. they put way too much nonsense all over the track... made it look a little too "busy" with the excessive billboards around every corner.

Yep, Shift 2 loved a billboard, I remember seeing boards and flags advertising their DLC and other titles all over the place!

Yeah for me it's getting the climb up the mountain juuuust right and then trying to follow it up flowing smoothly downhill, before having a quick breather before trying to ride the roller coaster into the Chase.

The downhill is definitely the most fun and rewarding when you get it right though.

Currently I'm building an excel doc of hot laps here in all my straight from the dealer cars, stock tyres ABS 1 (or none where applicable), no TCS or other aids.

The Cizeta has been the biggest pain in the butt!

2013 fastest lap in a fezza, track looks good to me at that speed. Gt6 got it nearly spot on the braking markers seem to be close to the real deal. (Even though gt6 doesn't have the white blocks)

Just did an Arcade race at Mt Panorama. The line up was:
GTR GT3 NISMO SCHULZE
GTR NISMO GT3
R8 LMS '09
R8 LMS-TEAM ORECA '10
R8 LMS ultra 15th Anniv
R8 LMS TEAM PLAYSTATION
GTR NISMO BASE MODEL white
SLS AMG GT3 15th Anniv
R8 LMS ultra '12
my matte black SLS AMG GT3

All I need is:
GTR NISMO base model black
R8 Phoenix Racing
two Z4 GT3's (wish PD made a base model)
SLS AMG GT3 silver
GTR GT3 NISMO 15th Anniv

I'm looking forward to more updates.

I'm still struggling to keep speed through the Chase without ending up eating dirt. I keep seeing HOW to do it right, I just can't seem to be able to actually do it.

Chase is tricky, you need to start wide, turn across the apex earlier than feels natural then let the car settle before you brake. Due to the crest you'll naturally want to turn in too late.

Btw anyone watching the Bathurst 12 hour? There's a lot if cars that can be recreated in GT, Matt black GT3 SLS, orange GT3 12C and a white Daytona coupe with a big rear wing that is quicker than the gt3 cars down the straights!

Is it just me or does anyone else kinda wish the 12hr was still close to it's production car roots? I mean have supercars as the top category by all means, but force them to run in absolute showroom spec with only safety mods like a half cage fire extinguisher, racing seat/harness/HANS for the driver, etc. Full interior trim, no extra aero, production car wheels, tires, and brakes. It would give us all a real chance to see who builds the fastest cars from the showroom across every price category. When the 12 hour was originally conceived this was their goal due to other categories moving too far from stock. Not popular enough perhaps? If so, no wonder everyone in the online lobby thinks running racing softs on road cars is good racing............ :indiff:

GT class cars are good but they dropped the production car class (Falcon GTs, Lancer EVos, HSV Commodores etc) because they were "too slow for the GT3s to get around" but then let fiat 500s and seats in? At least there's no ugly prototypes

Woohoo Lowndes/Salo/Bowe in a Ferrari 1st,ripsnorter of a finnish.
Yeah good finish. :) Old JB has still got it, & Lowndes is the modern day master of this circuit.

By the way, going online now for some 500pp, 'GT Production' on CS tires 8-lappers if anyone would like to join me?

s for being a reminder of anything, the general feel of the track makes me think Laguna Seca; elevation changes, elements, road surface, scenery.

I've only recently realised why I like Trial Mountain so much - it reminds me of Bathurst. Big elevation change, challenging curvy sequences (but going up the hill and at the bottom rather than the top) and a very long, fast, downhill straight.

I like how the 12H is now. Though, Id love to see the production cars with only rollcages and slicks racing around the mountain.

And, the best way to take the chase, is to lift off slightly to allow the car to turn in. When you find the grip limit of the car, then it can be taken flat out. Just remember to use the edge of the road on the left to straighten the kink.

After finished watching it, I just couldn't wait to drive the sls gt3 at mt panorama. The sls was so close to overtaking the ferrari, kinda reminds me of how I win some races on gt6 by less than a second.

Im trying to see if I can match the 2:03.85 by Maro Engel. RH just wont get me under 2:09. I know Will Davison was doing 2:05's-2:06's on Mediums during his last stint.

I like the track. Definitely one of my favourites. I watched some V8's from there on Sky a while ago. It was the first track I had to do a Free Run on after getting the game.

I've been doing theMerc VGT Seasonal on a few accounts and had managed a half second inside Gold on some and only managed a Silver on others. I was doing it on another account yesterday, was having a good run and hit a wall at the beginning of the downhill straight (i was obviously closer to the wall than I though). Being less than impressed I went at it with a vengeance on my next run. Got to the end without seeing any "Lines" from other accounts and was pleasantly surprised to see a 2:05.493. I doubt I'll get close to that again.

Well being an Aussie, this is the most sacred track. As this track is the track to win on for the V8 Supercars. As it tests your endurance, your patience and your skill and one slip up and your gone. I have grown up watching the V8 Supercars and the cars before that race around this famous track.

I love the fact that it is in GT6 and Forza 5 and you can compare your race times with the actual records.
2:04 in a GT3 type 610pp car.

What an absolutely fantastic race! Tires just didn't wear out! And squealing for mercy on a few turns.

I feel like I know every car in the field the commentators where so good!

That track just destroys cars! Sucked that the Nismo team crashed out, they looked like they would have been a strong contender.

And a 65' Daytona to boot!

The live stream was really good too, no hiccups for me. Kept it on most of the race.
I thought the Radio Le Mans commentators did a really nice job too.

Non-stop balls to the wall racing, couldn't believe the level of driver commitment!
Would love to see same versions of McLaren, Ferrari, Exhige, & Daytona in GT6.

Its too bad about the Nissan, could have been worse, thankfully Katsumasa Chiyo walked away.
