Looking for some help/advice from Fanatec owners please.

I've had my Fanatec GT2 for about a month now and it has a rather annoying squeaking sound when the force feedback is set to 70 or above. I did hear that some wheels need running in but after a hell of a lot of use the squeaking on mine is still there.

The squeaking sounds to me like the belts rubbing on something but as I'm not particularly technically gifted that is just a guess!

I emailed Fanatec about this and Armin replied today saying the squeaking noise is on all wheels which is contrary to what I've heard from individual members here so I'm looking for input from any GT Planet members that can spare the time to look at this post and the attached video. The sound on the video isn't very loud so you might have to turn it up!

... maybe they all do this but I would've thought this would have been more widely documented if thats the case!

Cheers guys.

That sound is normal. It's just the sound of the belt driven FFB. I own the GT3 and I have heard the same sound. Nothing to be worried about.

@Nick ... Seriously? I'm not talking about the normal sound of the belts spinning but the squeaking when the FFB is strongest like on a hard lock.

If its normal I'm going to seriously consider switching to a T500 cos that squeaking drives me insane lol!

I had to raise my volume by ten(50 out of 70) to even hear the squeal and I hear that sound normally on my GT3 wheel(not very loud but I can feel it).

I know the microphone on my phone didn't pick it up very well but the fact that I can hear that squeak when I've got my surround sound turned up is annoying! Guess I'll have to learn to live with it.

FFB wheels are full of annoying little noises, it seems. The Logitechs clunk and the Fanatecs squeak... I hope you can tune it out. I managed to with the old DFP gear whine.

So when Fanatec offered a free mouse... OH! It all makes sense now. :dopey:

Thanks for the reassurance guys, sent Armin a message at fanatec to apologise! Going to learn to love my furry companion when racing :)

I have the same squeaking noise on my gt2 but on mine its when its above 80 its so annoying. I have sent fanatec countles emails and videos. I would love a t500 but i game on 360 too so its the gt2 or nothing. Hopefully i will get it replaced.
