Can this screen get fixed or do i have to buy a new one for the screens sake?

I would think that you would have to buy a new mp3 player. However, it looks like it is only the plastic screen that is broken and not the lcd screen itself. If you feel like being brave you could remove that "protector screen" and cut another thin peice of clear plastic/acrylic and glue it in place. You could probably salvage this off an old phone cover or similar. It just comes down to how much effort you want to put in.

Spec....

wou wouldn't want that to happen to an $700 i pod

it was only $30

it still worked

but don't worry about it anyway it doesn't work at all now after the stupid battery leaked now no USB icon when in computer and i won't bother trying another battery

after all it's only cheap

A similar thing happened to mine (I learned not to put a set of keys in the same pocket as my mp3 player after this...). As long as it still works it doesn't matter if the screen is broken though, but I see you had more problems with it anyway. Here's a pic of mine (I scanned it rather than taking a photo because it was less hassle), I put some sellotape over the cracked part.

my mp3 player goes on my keyring, i trot on it, and i've learned not to leave it on the floor now.

but i tried mine tonight and it works okay but the LCD lights up but just comes up with scribbled pixels, everything else still works now.

but now my LCD was affected by the battery leak it's ****ed up now

edit: damn the wink smile didn't work again

I don't put anything scratchable/breakable in the same pocket as my keys anymore, not after the state they made of my mobile phone.

My neighbour has the same MP3 but the display actually leaked when he broke the screen leaving a blurry mass covering half of it.

at first i thought i lost the school projects and files that were saved on there but now it works and i can bring it back to school on Monday

i've learned 2 things

1. Not to leave my mp3 player on the floor [how it got cracked]

2. To always take the battery out when i'm not using it, it was in my computer when it leaked and wrecked the LCD, so i'm glad it didn't damage the USB port on my computer:nervous: it must've leaked for ages before i noticed it because there was acid everywhere when i noticed it
