Multiple Bspec Drivers/Pit Stops

OK....I apologize in advance for my stupid question......here it goes. I've never raced an endurance race (but want to soon), but I dabbled tonight with my first "longer"'race when I ran my Bspec in the Expert Level GT Series event (Fuji). My first question is.....do I really need multiple "Bob's" in a longer race like this (30 laps)? My gut answer is "yes" because my first driver (level 21) had lost all strength and mental strength by lap 18 or so. However, I've heard people on this board exclaim that multiple drivers aren't really needed. So....what's the real answer? If it would have helped to switch drivers, how do I do it? Do I have to pit to switch drivers or is there another way? In that 30 lap Fuji race, none of the other cars pitted, so that would have surely put me in last place.

Regarding pitting......my second question is how do I set up automatic pitting? Some of these guys who set there Bspec to run an endurance race while they sleep surely have some way of auto pitting, yet, I never saw the option during my 30 lap Fuji expert BSpec race. Any help would be welcome!

You don't need to have more than one driver race for any race, including the 24 hour ones. They change in the pits.

The drivers automatically pit when they run out of fuel or the tires are in bad shape. Make sure you get the strength to 0% otherwise they'll end up pitting after 1 lap.

I have run one Bob at Le Mans 24hr. He will run out of strength, but he Bob. Who cares. If you don't want to torture one Bob, you can run up to 4, depending on the race. They will pit as needed, for gas and potty brakes. You can set up a pit strategy that works for you, but it is not necessary. To do that, what I do is wait for the first stop. Then, a pop up will come up, set how you want the strategy, and it will work the rest of the race.

Altought, all you really have to do is pick a car, at least one Bob, press the start button, then walk away. That easy.

If it's all automatic, why is there even an option to pit? Furthermore, on my 30 lap Fuji Expert race, my overpowered GT car was winning easily through 18 laps.....but once the strengths were all gone he slipped all the way back to 12th (I lost). Why didn't it automatically pit in that case?

The reason to have the pit option is because you may need to change tires, or fuel load.

Was he barely winning?

Because my car had more power than the competition, yes, he was winning from laps 1-24. Right around that 24th lap, the effects of all strength and mental strength being gone caused him to drop slowly into 2nd, then 3rd, and eventually by lap 28, he was in 12th. Never having pitted in my life, I of course panicked at this point and hit "pit" (I had nothing to lose since I was obviously in last place). Well, that extra pit put me behind even further because no other cars pitted the whole race. So someone help me.....what should I have done when my Bob lost all strength and mental strength? It obviously affected him (1st to 12th place within 4 laps??). Help?

you could give him the order to increase pace about 2-3 times to get him to be neither cool nor hot but in the middle, when this state starts to decrease in a while give him again the same order to keep him in that state.
being there he drives fast and with zero mistakes.
the only b-spec race i found needed to pit in order to win exept endurance was the nascar race cause half the way no car had tyres and the AI cars would not pit and made a drifting contest in the final 2 laps!!!

Races will make you choose a certain number of drivers to enter. Once you have started a race you can set the automatic pit stop on the right bottom of the screen. After this is completed, you can just walk away from the game. Provided the car you are running is much better than the competition. I set my pit strength to 10%. This, like I stated before, will automatically make the driver pit to change tires, add fuel, and change out drivers. :)
Happy racing

Don't do it, that was one of my few losses, putting 10% strength. I did that once and they lost a race with a powerful car in the 4 hour enduro. Problem is, they never had the time to recuperate, some cars, (like the F1 and X1) will drain their strength faster and they'll jump in with almost no strength.

My drivers were pitting every lap to switch drivers. So now, I let the strength option to "off", so by the time the tires are used and the gas is low, the drivers on the "bench" had time to recuperate, because they (tire and gas) drain slower than their energy.

I like to run as many drivers as I can. (Four is the most I've seen)

They rank up really fast in the longer races. I had one diver at level 28 when I started using additional drivers. I now have 5 drivers who are all level 33. It's nice because I usually have several drivers who have a blue "up" arrow and are ready to perform.

I normally do not use a pit strategy.....just let them pit automatically when they need tires or fuel. Once they reach a higher level you can set it to 10% and when they switch they will be back to full strength.

The main thing I do on b-spec is to make sure I'm in a silly overpowered car. I'm not going b-spec for challenge, I want Bob to win me money and XP as quickly as possible. So grind until you can get the f1, or a little earlier you can get the minolta in a-spec (Like the Wind it think, i'm sure isn't somewhere on the forum). when you are in that much faster car it doesn't matter how tired Bob gets.

This is truth.

I've just been running my Bob in races where the X2010 can run solely for money and EXP.

I run my single driver even when his arrow is pointing downward. Does that really affect anything?

Not really. The arrow seems to randomly bounce around from blue, green and red. If the car is fast enough it won't matter if its red.

They do go faster when it's blue though. So if your forced to use a "competitive" car use a blue up arrow driver.

Maybe I'm missing something here......but I don't have an option in the lower right corner of my screen (I'm racing the 30 lap Fuji Super GT Expert event) for "auto pit" as was mentioned in an earlier post on this topic. I see "Pit Strategy" and the red "Exit" button. When I go into "Pit Strategy", I have options for pit stop strength level and front/rear tires......but no actual option to turn "on" auto pitting. Am I looking in the wrong spot?

you don't turn it on, Bob just pits on his own when the tires or gas are gone. I did that race in the FGT, so there were no worries. But i've also done it in the minolta, it burns through tires and I was actually watching that race, so I had him pit twice to keep fresh tires.

But to your question, you don't have to turn on pit stops. if you are in a super fast car just run Bob ragged until he is forced to pit.
