How.. By picking a better car then someone else.. There is no tuning WHAT SO EVER.. So how that will be your 'big ticket' is beyond me..

He said big ticket into big name drag racers on other words he will feel privileged to drag race with the big names out there in this community. It was pretty simple Matt I understood the first time.

Haha you don't need a ticket to be a big name... I respect people like you who want to learn, if you want to learn, sounds good enough to be a big name in my opinion 👍

I read through the whole thread and understand the rules. Just trying to think of a good obscure car that comes with sports tyres.

Anyway, I may be unable to participate over a weekend (if thats when this is run, aware theres no date set.) as I'm involved in a fair bit of GT5 online races.

Seems like 12sec is the benchmark to beat, would I be right in saying that?

Yeah, the Benchmark should be in the mid to high 11's, so yes you should be able to beat 12's. Glad you're interested! 👍

Okay, won't be on GT5 again till tomorrow so if I think of it then I'll look around for a car. 4WD is probably my best bet as I'm a noob to drag.

Also, in regards to dragging at Indy, where is the start and end of the run?

I showed the guys in the group that there is a Shelby dealership down the road from me that sells Cobra's and I've seen the GT500 Eleanor in there a few times.

The eleanor is my dreeeeaaaaam car. Id cry if i seen it in person...lol. if i had money id pick her over most cars we already talk about.

can we use standard Aftermarket cars like the Spoons or Trail Celica. they have exhausts and stuff already on them however they will non racing?

Man you lucky that your hands even been on one in your own time here on earth.

I touched a parked gtr last week but it didnt feel like much.

Is it that the older cars are more valuble?

And i wonder if thats an original cobra body in that window? You have to Check the frame to find out i think.

It's got to be the history and sense of power and meaning behind it all and the styling that does it for me.

That aint just no body, they actually sell Cobras there. These are from the factory. I see them all the time on the street. That is all original.


Just noticed that GT5 has the incorrect amount of power for the Cobra, it's not 494, it's 550.

Yeah if its coming right from the factory than it is difinitly coded official.

I was looking at a tv program and they were talking about alot of fakes out there that people are trying to sell.

The real cobras have factory codes on the inside frames carved in.

Anyway you have a better shop to look at as i only have the bentley shop closes to me.

im tired of looking at bentleys as the big spending business d-bags of downtown dc wear them out like camrys.

People these days lol. In New York we get a slew of perfect condition muscle cars all the time. In the past 3 days alone I've seen over 16 classic Mustangs.

Seen an arab driving a r34 last month with the steering wheel on the right side.

i thought it was illegal to drive right steering wheeled cars in the u.s.

Anyway it was a guy that pulled up next to him in a srt8 charger trying to race...i yelled to the guy in the srt8..."you seriously dont wanna do that". Lol.

Guys like me and you know what these rare cars can do.

You wouldnt catch me pulling a standard v8 up next to a high powerd supra because i may think it looks like a punk car, or a gtr because it looks like a regular nissan that ive never seen befor.

noob drivers....lol

JDM import. RIGHT hand drive. Cos it's the right way ;) in aus you have to get a left hand drive approved at a department of transport and in a few cases display a sign on your car.

Ever wonder why the U.S. does everything completely different from the rest of the world? Because we love giving an inconspicuous middle finger to everyone else. We have flying cars and airplanes that can swim.
 
Actually the majority of the world drives on the right side of the road like the US

Red is right side of the toad, Blue is left side if road.

Its weird. I never knew so many countries in the world were driving on the right side of the road, right side instead of wrong :lol:
So guys how are all coming along on the 450HP setups? Is anyone confident in their choice. Are we going to do a competition for all drivetrains?
I.E. we all pick 1 car for each of the 4 drivetrains.
EDIT... I know were not using Spoon or Mugen Or TRD or Amuse or Opera... or any of the other aftermarket types, but is RUF ok. I wouldnt think so because a RUF is a tuned Porsche.
