Lol, cano so you're saying a Hemi is on par with a Ferrari on a closed cirucit track? :tries to see in the smoke filled room: Some strong stuff ya got there?

You say ferrari was not a company with impressive engineeering if that statement is true how to explan cars like this 1969 f1 car

Kyalami71a.jpg

I would like to see Dodge or chrysler, or plymouth
do something like that

hemi is the name of a engine (head and valve design) not a car manufacturer

i take it you mean Dodge or chrysler, or plymouth

We're discussing street cars now, aren't we?

And I'll tell whoever is listening, speaking as a person who has actually swung wrenches on some older Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and Maseratis, their engineering ain't all that. Yes, they were pushing the envelope of 1968-70 technology, but the reliability and the "craftsmanship" were for crap. Hell, there are many many American musclecars that will go longer without having the damn oil changed than an old Ferrari will go without having all six carburetors rebuilt. And "hand craftsmanship" isn't that great when it means you have to order 3 or 4 of a part to make sure you'll have 1 that actually fits on the car.

Famine, I wasn't trying to imagine conflict and I realize you're in support of all interesting cars from your previous posts. It just sounded like you were saying that only European marques were track tested. Apologies.

I will also say, if I haven't already, that I love the classic European sports cars as well as American iron. I love all interesting cars. But if you tell me that all muscle cars are The Suck, it's going to polarize my opinion a little bit. Then I'm going to remind you that such classics of European sportscar technology as the Porsche 356 and the Jag XKE will get embarrassed on the autocross course by a stock Honda Odyssey minivan with an automatic transmission.

Cano saying ferrari and muscle cars are not designed for the track is a bit silly. At time the ferrari 365 daytona was the fastest car in the world and to say a mucle car can keep up with the 365 is stupid. This car will inherite many features of the race car. And was designed to go extreamly fast. This car is sports car not bulit for comfort built to go fast and thats what it did on the track and on the road. In fact its said that many muscle cars ripped of the styling of this car because it was so sophisticated. Read some stuff on this car for your self.

None needed.

However, the next person who refers to the Renaultsport Clio V6 255 as "a Clio", will get a torque-wrench up the jacksie... :D

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!

the only people who hate muscle cars are the little idiots that drive hondas and think their little piece of **** is fast.

heres my guess: you have never seen what a HEMI magnum can do stock

or what a 505 cu. in. 500+ hp V10 can induce.

a 426 hemi in a 1970 plumouth roadrunner could amke a cloud of rubber so big you would think it was going to rain

yes, both of them would be very VERY close, believe me. at least in the case of the old cars. and yes, Im not saying that "the hemieillbeat thecrapout of teh ferraari lol" no, Im almost sure the Ferrair will win, but the hemi car WONT be far behind. maybe not even a second.
and again, james something, YOU ARE STUPID. we are talking about STREET CARS, FOR GODS SAKE!!!! that cant get in your damned brains (if any at all?) and what do you do? exemplify you argument (gag!) with an F1. you are simply lost. and how come its silly that they are STREET CARS???? you have really seen street cars designed for the track???? please. I see it coming. "yea the prscohe GT1 and teh toyota GT1 were desined forthe trak and they sold stret versions of them lol"
please. NO street car was NEVER designed for the track. not even the so-(badly)called king of the track, the skyline, was EVER designed NOR meant to be a track car. if they are track cars, how come they are on the streets? why do we see them on the streets? they should always be on a track!!! OMG that illegal!!!

idiot.

and yeah, the muscle cars borrowed styling from the daytona, wich is, If I might add, ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFULL CARS IN HISTORY. now, I ask... SO FEKKEN WHAT? you cant think that any muscle car could keep up with a Ferrari? oh god.

Cano

as for Mopar Muscle's statement... well, maybe he hasnt EVER had the chance to see a HEMI in person man, but you are pretty lame too. you mention the big-ass cloud of smoke from the tires. just the kind of stereotype that makes people think that muscle cars are big, useless hulks and just make noise and have stupid power. if you are a muscle car enthusiast, please, DEFEND the cars. dont diss them. I cant see how something that is just recognized by "the cloud of rubber so big" can hold up against a Ferrari. you think a Ferrari cant make a GIGANTIC cloud of rubber out of its italian tires? please. Mention qualities, not just stupidity.

QUOTE --- " you think a Ferrari cant make a GIGANTIC cloud of rubber out of its italian tires? please. Mention qualities, not just stupidity. "

you couldn't have misinterperated my statement any more thn you just did.

and yet you point the finger at me for being a stereotype, when in the above quote you stereotype against me. i said nothing about a ferrari in my previous post!!!!

what i really ment to illustrate was that the roadrunner can keep the tyres moving, with more power to back them, rather than a honda (civic, whatever, etc.) just chirping the tires just because whoever was driving it dropped the clutch when the were reving it.

I LIKE IMPORTS (bmw, lamborghini, porche, ferrari, opel, etc)
but not hondas, since when did a 4cl 1.8 L motor become fast?!?!?

im' not a big fan of V6's, but they get the job done
i like V8's
and i like V10's the best because if they are built right, they put out lots of power and aren't mutch heavier than a V8.

anyways, DONT STEREOTYPE, I DIDN'T. I'M SORRY YOU INTERPRETED IT THE WRONG WAY THOUGH.

Looks like a Generalization to me, aka Stereotype. "just chirping tires", I do hope you mean from 70-80mph Roll's right? because i've yet to see a decent Honda drop the clutch and NOT spin tires, it's FWD you azz clown, that's their problem. THEY SPIN TIRES. The intelligence level of this thread is dropping rapidly.
Cano, I say we just stop posting here, because every statement we make is replied to with more blatent CRAP.

When did 4cl 1.8 L motor become fast? Lol, around the same time all the muscle car fanatics got jealous that people didn't like their cars as much as they did in the past.

if they are "built right" What does that mean?

"Look mommy, it's a hypocrite"

this thread should be called "Let flame each other"

To Mopar Muscle
Since when did a 1.8 4 cylinder become fast?
Since I've blown many a V8 junkers doors of in acceleration and cornering in my 1.8 4 cylinder Datsun ....Thats when!!!!

Wow, I've just realised that Drifster is a complete wanker.

muscel cars are good and so are rice burners but the truth is that there is nothin like an old v8...........it will always beat a 4 cylinder even if the 4 cylinder has NOS..............u know wat tthey say:only milk and juice comes in 2 litres!

it will always beat a 4 cylinder? What a crock. A V8 will not ALWAYS beat a 4 cylinder car, you know that and you're lying to yourself by saying that.

"U know what they say" I've never heard that before, so obviously it's not that "old" so no one would know what they say. As far as that "Even if the 4Cyl has NOS". come on now.

i have herd of that saying many times

for many years, i am suprised youve never herd it driftster

****ing hell, is that certain time of month for you Driftster?, all you seem to do is whinge and ***** and moan!

Cobraboy, do you try and be an azz? Seriously, I complain once in a while, but it seem's everywhere you are, you're whining about something. Don't be a hypocrite.

OK, any small trickle of discussion this thread still maintained has just been beaten to death by all of you. I think it's time for lights out.

Lets try to do a little better next time, shall we? Even when I (and several others) were posting pretty heated posts, we were still furthering the discussion itself.
