I like some Killswitch, Hatebreed, Pro-Pain or Fear Factory going on in the background while drifting. :O Pumps me up somewhat. A little Pennywise or Glassjaw wouldn't hurt too...

LP,initial d, full metal panic( i know some anime stuff),and rap and got to back on playing dynasty warriors 4 damn WEi dynasty

I have the boxed set for the OST's for Initial D. I burned out on that stuff quickly and now I usually listen to various speed metal bands or Public Enemy while drifting.

I agree with the Killswitch, Fear Factory, and Hatebreed. All good bands. When it comes to metal, I also listen to:
Lamb of God
Shadows Fall
Meshuggah
Otep
Downthesun
Motograter
Tool

However metal is not all I listen to while drifting. I also listen to some:
Radiohead
Coldplay
Afro Celt Soudsystem
Dead Can Dance
A Perfect Circle

or:
Swollen Members
Dialated Peoples
Living Legends
The Grouch
Eli
Wutang Clan
Ludacris
Busta Rhymes

It just depends on my mood at the time, hell sometimes I like to listen to a little:

Chopin
Mozart
Beethoven
Thomas Newman
Maurice Jarre

I think it's important to know how to recognize your mood, and cater the music accordingly. Instead of trying to control your mood, you should be using it to help your drifting IMHO.

Seriously though, I listen to mostly rock music when I drift in GT3. I've been listening to Spineshank a lot lately. I've always listened to AFI a lot when I drift and I like everything else from Metallica to Beethoven. It's all good. (except for country, which in fact sucks)

I like whatever I'm in the mood for......

Metal: Samael, Deicide, Incantation, Ritual Carnage, older '80s thrash bands......old Maiden, Judas Priest.....Black Metal.....Gothenburg Metal....whatever....

Radio: MuDvAyNe, Slipknot, Nonpoint, Disturbed, Tool

Techno-industrial-Trance: Skinny Puppy, Download, FLA, Delerium, Kompressor

Some Classic Rock, Jazz, Blues, Hip-Hop, Classical........

None of it for drifting rhythm.....My 3 month-old son does a good job of throwing it off regardless of whatever I do to keep focus:lol:
Music is supposed to be relaxing. I feel that drifting to the music forces one self to impose unrealistic expectations upon his/her self. I use the music to keep my mind clear, and relax with the movement of the car.......When I drive, I absolutely HAVE to have something to listen to. Music quiets my thoughts and lets my "autopilot" focus on the task at hand.

There's the quote I was talking about. Also, I do agree that the first album was the best. ;)

I listen to the roaring of the engine. There is a reason the WRX STi doesn't come standard with a radio....

Agreed - even switch the BGM of GT3 off... but the sound of some engines, eg Speed 6, makes me put the tv on mute!

There maybe music playing on my stereo in the background.. but doesn't affect my driving/drifting at all...

Yo, silviadrifter! Maybe you and me can start a band or something :dopey:  . And then xsyorra can sing for us, Halford-style! \m/

Forget it, I'm probably waaay over my alcohol limit...:dopey:

2pac, twista, brotha lynch, DJ epic, DJ mystik, DJ onyx, DJ matrix, and SOMETIMES if i'm in the mood i'll play some eurobeat (jpop style), or initial D music. i was into initial D before it was big, about 3 years ago, so i'm entitled to listen to the music without being called a trend-follower ;]
